The penultimate match of Gameweek 20 gets underway at this evening as Newcastle United welcome league leaders Manchester City to St James’ Park.

Up against a defence with just a single clean sheet in 15 attempts, Pep Guardiola’s side boast three of the top ten captains for this round of fixtures.

Significantly Sergio Aguero – their most backed armband pick (6.2%) – is again chosen to lead the line and makes his fourth successive Premier League start. Gabriel Jesus warms the bench yet again, then.

Kevin De Bruyne (4.2%) and Raheem Sterling (3.1%) are also handed starts, though both have some way to go to match Harry Kane’s 17-point haul at home to Southampton yesterday.

Nonetheless, the pair arrive on Tyneside in fine form. De Bruyne has three goals and two assists in City’s previous six, with three sets of 10+ points hauls during that run.

Meanwhile, Sterling – the top target in midfield for Gameweek 20, with over 173,00 new owners – has served up 34 points in three, courtesy of three goals and a trio of assists.

David Silva’s ongoing personal issues means he misses out for the second time in three matches, however, with Ilkay Gundogan partnering De Bruyne in the centre of the park in his absence. Leroy Sane is also on the timber despite his early withdrawal against Bournemouth last time out – he’s now started just four of the last seven Gameweeks.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

So are people going with a Free Hit, Triple (c) or no chips for GW22?

TC Kane for me. Difficult to envision a better option for TC later in the season.
Also, I'm thinking the Free Hit would be better used for the likely garbage gameweek where there are only 4 or 5 matches between those knocked out of the FA Cup and you don't want to be stuck with a bunch of crap in your team afterwards

    1. BERGKOP

Only one I'm considering is TC for Kane.

Only considering TC Kane and using free hit for the BGW.

    3. Pierce34

No chips most likely. I'm thinking about TC but leaning more towards just captaining Kane. Yeah on paper it looks great, but I don't see him scoring braces or hat-tricks like he did this week. I remember last year Aguero only got 9 points in his early-ish DGW (which was also great on paper), and Sanchez and Kane smashed it in theirs.

what should be the best scoreline for Arsenal vs. Crystal Palace if I don't own any of their players and want to avoid as little rank drops as possible?

I guess ideal scenario would be something like 1-1 with own goals and no assists 😀

More realistic good case scenario is both teams concede goals by very low ownership players, like Townsend and Iwobi.

Need some good FPL logic here:

    Courtois
    Ota/Mee/JJk (Masuaku/Mbemba)
    Salah/Silva/Richarlison/Hazard/RLC
    Firmino/Niasse* (Kane)

Ideally it would be nice to go into 22 w/ 2 frees.

However, with this line up, it looks like I will not be able to field 11 - So the choice would be to upgrade Niasse or Mbemba this week.

The argument against a gw21 transfer is that
    a) I will have 2 frees for 22 (Hazard & possible Rich > Son/Alli/Erick & possibly arnie)

    b) With a downgrade from Hazard, when I do want to upgrade mbemba/ Niasse, it does not have to be to a crappy alternative. The funds from Hazard would allow me to go more like Mbemba > Jones.

Just wanting to know if I should definitely make a transfer this week to field a full squad, or just play it out with no transfers in, because Mbemba > Gomez or Niasse > Quaner doesn't seem worth it.

    Hazard Sterling RLC Choupo
    Kane Aguero

    Thanks.

No need to take a hit...I would get Kolasinac out this week...and then do Choupo > Arnie if you have the funds or Hazard>Alli/Son/Erick & Choupo > Arnie for 22 if you want max double gameweekers. It might be overkill, but no need for a hit

Is it worth going Kane to Morata(c) for a 1 week punt or should I just go Tarkowski > Long?

    Courtois

Salah Coutinho Sterling De Bruyne Richarlison
    DCL Depoitre

You have 2 FT I think
Kane Morata move is worth it.
You still have 2FT next and for -4 you can have a total of 4 dgwers. Seems fine to me.
C is the risky bit but if doing the move it should be with the C I think.

    Otamendi Dunk Christensen
    Hazard(C) Coutinho Sterling Zaha Richarlison
    Morata Firmino

At a loss on how to catch my rival, he has pulled 26 clear, we have near identical squads except that his is better because he has about .8-1m more cash than me.

Is it too early to worry and to keep playing my game? Sold Richarlison over Zaha last week purely because he has Rich, hasn’t worked out so well so far...

        Mine:

        Hazard, Salah, Sterling, Richarlison

22 should be interesting...I would consider looking at Haz and Zaha for Delli/Erick/Son & Arnie...seems punty, but the latter group are in great form.

If you don't like after a couple go's after, you could always go for example (Alli > Coutinho) or if Hazard bounces back, just get him back in.

City were willing to pay 60 for him. That's the modern transfer market for you.

Seems high but transfers are nuts these days. Interesting to watch what happens

Pool fan - it's seems very high. And going to saints all the time is annoying.

On the flip sign I have moaned about the need for central defenders and keepers for awhile. Probably a step in the right direction. But there are surely better defenders available for cheaper. Don't know.

Terribly bewildering? He's a massive improvement on all other CBs in the squad...
Fees mean nothing these days - City wanted him and it's a massive coup for Klopp.

Not a Pool fan but I am jealous... anyone could use VVD... another Otamendi imo

Pool fan here, yes it's a lot of money, but he's proven in the EPL, world class and we desperately need a leader in defence, so i'm as happy as a fat kid on a smartie! He's been poor this season because he hasn't wanted to be at Southampton...

Hazard (C) Salah Sterling Richarlson Lingard

    Firminio Quaner

    Pereira Dunk Kane Ogbonna.

Thanks yeah I think I will change it.
Quaner was blocked off by Sane cameo today. Bit annoying.

A nightmare day after all. Agüero 2 posts, great shot saved by Elliot, then goal whistled away by ref. De Bruyne hitting post. Several great passes to Agüero, Sterling, Jesus...

And Van Dijk deal is a direct threat to Klavan. Not in next 2 GW:s, but after that.

I think KDB owners in particular were very unlucky. He had a Hazard day 🙂

    Pope
    Otamendi Kola Christiansen Mbema***
    Sterling Salah Hazard Cout
    DCL Depoirte

    Elliot Maguire Kane Surman

2FTs, should I do Kola > Ogbonna this week, and then do Hazard > Eriksen/Son/Alli , Surman > Arni ? Or is that overloading with DGWrs

0.5 itb, should I just save the FT?

Guys need some thoughts on this plan..very much dependent if coutinho is rested this wkend..burned 1FT to do foster to pickford..

      Sorry, continuation...

      Pickford
      Otamendi christensen duffy long
      Hazard salah coutinho sterling
      Firmino dcl
      Elliot carroll ogbonna kane

      1FT 0.1ITB

      Is this a sound plan?

      Gw21: Roll FT

      Gw22:
      A. If coutinho rested for gw21, then hazard christensen to alli vertonghen

      B. If coutinho starts gw21, then hazard coutinho to alli eriksen

Spurs defence preferred? Or better to have west ham mid? or 3rd spurs attacker?

    Courtois
    Christensen - Otamendi - Gomez
    Salah (C) - Hazard - Sterling - Richarlison
    Aguero - Firmino - DCL

    Elliot - Mee - Francis - Arnie

Would you go with the above next week? Start Mee instead of DCL?

    Thanks.

Only if you think Mee gets a CS so probably DCL.

Cheers, TM. I think there is a distinct possibility that Dyche will setup to ensure they walk away with at least one point at Huddersfield. Might be a flip of the coin.

Who are the most nailed full backs at Liverpool? With VVD heading there, they may become better defensively and their fullbacks are cheap so I wouldn't mind buying one and just benching on away days
