The penultimate fixture of the packed festive schedule gets underway at 7.45pm as Arsenal and Chelsea go head-to-head at the Emirates.

For the hosts, Alexis Sanchez has upped his output in recent weeks – after a slow start to the season, last term’s top scoring player in Fantasy Premier League has delivered points in seven of his last 10 league appearances.

That form suggest that the Chilean is likely to pose the main danger to a defence that’s conceded just four times in their previous 11.

Nonetheless, it’s Alexandre Lacazette who is the Gunners’ most captained player for Gameweek 22, handed the armband by 2.02%.

The Frenchman has been a consistent source of points at home, producing a goal or assist in seven of his 10 appearances, but he’s struggled for a cutting edge of late and failed to find the net since Gameweek 15.

A return to form could reignite interest in Lacazette ahead of four kind fixtures (bou CRY swa EVE) in as many Gameweeks.

Despite a run of two goals in the last nine Gameweeks, Chelsea’s Alvaro Morata (3.7%) is the top armband pick for this fixture.

That lack of form means that the Spaniard and team-mate Eden Hazard were among the top five most transferred out players for Gameweek 22, sent packing by 243,000+ and 207,000+ respectively.

Hazard has mustered just a single assist in five yet both he and Morata also have some decent fixtures ahead to arrest their recent declines – over the next five Gameweeks, Antonio Conte’s side host Leicester, Bournemouth and West Brom and also make their way to Brighton and Watford.

Encouragingly for Hazard’s owners, he looks set to return to a central role with the visitors rolling out a 3-5-1-1 formation.

The Gunners, meanwhile, welcome back Mesut Ozil from a minor knee problem, though injuries in defence means that Arsene Wenger is forced to field the likes of Calum Chambers, Rob Holding and Ainsley Maitland-Niles in his starting line-up.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Hazard is world class and imo the best player in the PL but as a FPL option he's so infuriating to own.

I rate him as a player, but to be a world class he has to perform better in big games. He also has to stabilize his form, because he often goes missing during games, especially if he already scored.

But it depends how we define world class. He's a great player nonetheless.

One of the best players in the league and great as a ball carrier but I don't think he has enough to his game to be regarded anywhere near the top.

I was making a black eyed peas joke.
Will.i.am, and Fergie we’re in that group together, and I felt it was actually a relevant comment about united being better under Ferguson.

But I guess if you have to explain it.....

...and you’re right about the back three thing, teams adapt.
Plus Chelsea now have the extra midweek fixtures, causing rotation, and injuries, which disturbs the consistency of the team.

I've never understood that arm in the air thing at corners that Cesc does...I know the excuse is that it lets your players know you are going to take it but it equally tells the defenders.

2arms up might mean back post this game. Next game it might mean front post. It also can tell defenders which lines to run for example Cahill running behind his own players and around etc.

I really dont feel this 3-5-1-1 or whatever it may be doesn't suit enough of the Chelsea players to be a good formation. Always look better when they go 3-4-3.

Calling them ‘stupid tactics’ is just ignorant, his tactics won Chelsea the league last year and looking at other comments you’ve made you clearly have no football IQ

Not sure I get why that's being overlooked as a pen. Whether it's unintentional, clumsy or whatever. Still caused him to go down. Those kind of pens get given all the time

Morata missed the sitter of the season, Courtois made a world class save from Sanchez and Fabregas and Sanchez hugged.

Is this team worth the weakish front line?

    Pickford
    Monreal Stones Jones
    Sterling Hazard Salah Lingard Mahrez
    Rooney Firmino
