The ScoutCast – Episode 251 – Domestic

Distracted and torn by domestic duties, my appearance on this latest ScoutCast episode is limited to a 30-minute introduction, followed by closing cameo.

That’s just enough time to join Jonty, Andy and Az in revisiting the Gameweek 31 scenario and chip strategies that dominate your community questions.

While I’m away, the boys also consider the Gameweek 31 traps to decide whether we’re in danger of being distracted by the mediocrity on offer. The fate of premium-priced defenders is also discussed before they preview Gameweek 28, as I crash back in to make my late contribution.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday evening. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link on the first player below, or take in the full visual experience via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Still can't make up my mind.

What would you do next. I'm okay with a hit if justified (1FT, £0.3m itb)

    Pickford.
    Alonso. Smalling. Azpil.
    Salah. Sterling. Willian. Walcott. Son.
    Kane. Firmino.

    (Elliot. Mee. Ogbonna. Quaner.)

    Thanks!!

    1. I already have Robertson, is he a waste of a Liverpool spot? I could go Rob - > Daniels & Otamendi - > VvD over the next couple of weeks with Fts.

    2. Is Davies worth the hassle or go for the boring Verthongen?

I'm basically thinking with gwk 31 in mind. Might be be prime Moreno time but I'll have a few weeks to assess.

Davies has started the last 7 league games. Rose is annoying though

How many can to you realistically achieve this GW?

There's so much variability, you could get 20 points or over a hundred.

GW31 isn't much different except we can expect to get less than an average week, though it's possible to.get more.

Last year, GW28 was low scoring, besides King, but it could have been high scoring. It's not necessarily a trap. The game is pretty unpredictable. Just make transfers on a case by case basis, and don't be crazy 🙂

I'm always open to any suggestions you or anyone can think of to improve it.
Glad it helps 🙂 it'll be intriguing for me to see if the Bookies and the DS stats are right about that Watford game...

    A) Alonso (away to MU)
    B) Otamendi (away to Ars)
    C) Mee (home to Sou)
    D) Daniels (home to New)
    E) VVD (home to WH)

Thoughts on what to do with this bunch?

    DDG Adrian
    Otamendi Jones Kenny Naughton Mbemba
    Sterling Salah Shaqiri Mili Ox
    Aguero Kane Firmino

    2FT, 1M in bank

    Mbemba to Francis or Schindler/Zanka?
Ox and Jones to VVD and Ibe?

I currently have Robertson, Salah, Firmino, Wilson, Walcott & Shaqiri.

Am I best off forgetting about Gwk 31 and just focus on the next few gwks? If I carry 2fts into gwk 31 (presuming no injuries) that should be enough to see me through it?

Not overly keen on stockpiling the likes of Daniels or Schindler just yet

If the people going out for Daniels and schindler have good points potential for the next few then I'd save for last minute yeah, especially if you wildcard the week after

Its an never ending discussion... 7-9 players seems to be what people are aiming for.. personally im FH'ing in 31 as I have no wildcars and dont bother getting any gw31 players besides Liverpool.. so im loading up on leicester/arsenal atm

To answer your question; bring in gw31 players as close to gw31.. you will be fine with 7 players I reckon, even though each midfielder/attacker you bring in on hits only is a -2.. so a few hits wont hurt as much if needed... (as long as you wc in gw32)

Should I bring in Simpson or Chilwell?

Chilwell has a higher ceiling, but Simpson has no competition for the rb spot, unless albrighton is deployed as a wingback in a 3-5-2. Fuchs might get the nod over Chilwell now and then...

    Thoughts?

    Hi

I’m thinking of a different plan, could be genius or idiocy. Basically cos I look at Man City, Man Ute, Chelsea and can’t see value in owning any of their players until GW32 at the earliest.

Please point out any pitfalls that you might see that I might have not realized. I have used TC only.

Wildcard today. Get 3x Liv, 3x Bou, 1x WB, 1 x CpL straight away as my 8 BGW31 players, can’t see value in having any more.
Also get 3 spurs and Monreal as nice fixtures before and after blank, and are players I’ll want for the forthcoming doubles.
That leaves space for 3 more players, not sure who yet. Plenty of money though.
I reckon I’ll make some nice gains over the next 3 weeks on those holding a lot of Man U, Man C, Che.

So after Gw31 I’ll have those 8 players in my team who won’t have a double later on. I’ll be keeping Salah I’m sure, plus if I keep a Mane or a Firmino also I wouldn’t mind, as their single fixture in the DGw34 could easily yield better returns than some double players (I think a lot of whom will get rotated anyway so will end up playing 1, or 1 and a bit fixtures).

So that leaves me with 6 players I’ll want to get rid of for GW34. If I have 2FT after GW31, means I’ll only need to take two hits to get 13 DGW players, + Salah and Firmino. Or maybe 1 hit if there’s another player in my squad with a single fixture that I like the look of and wish to keep.

Use FH GW35, and revert back to DGW squad in 36 like a lot of other people.

    Any thoughts appreciated

you've obviously given it some thought so why not. Someone has to score points in those big team clashes though

Some logic applies for the gw31 matches.. someone has to score points in those matches as well.. its just safer to have players from a dominant team playing an inferior team

Why did you state your rank, haha?

A bit risky id say.. would rather save the wc for 32 as you will have a lot more information on the FA cup draws, standings in the league etc.

Different. Great rank not sure if my advice is sound but it seems like the team u get in for your wildcard will be torn apart by transfers very soon after using it. Seems a waste and may be compromised by a few injuries along the way. Wc closer to the doubles will give more info.
Not sure how much of a jump u will get on the rest by using it to bring in some gw31 trash

      1. FC Hakkebøf
        • 7 Years
        6 years, 2 months ago

This.. you might as well FH in gw31 instead if thats the case and use your wildcard even later ok, and.focus your transfers on the dgw34/bgw35 from now on..
