That’s just enough time to join Jonty, Andy and Az in revisiting the Gameweek 31 scenario and chip strategies that dominate your community questions.

While I’m away, the boys also consider the Gameweek 31 traps to decide whether we’re in danger of being distracted by the mediocrity on offer. The fate of premium-priced defenders is also discussed before they preview Gameweek 28, as I crash back in to make my late contribution.

      I'm currently on C. although hate captaining in the early fix normally! I just feel Leicester will beat Stoke and Mahrez will have a stormer.

        hahaha that's what I've done. I only captain him twice and I only got 372 total points for captain while Salah got 434 for captaining every week.

        Sunday is the start of the week, Saturday the end. Players are always fresher at the start of the week rather than the end. Makes perfect sense..........

    Just like everyone else here I'm considering Otamendi to VvD and can also do Walcott to Mahrez/Eriksen. Will just bring Walcott back in for 31.

    If I do this I'll still have about 8 or 9 for GW31. I just can't decide which I should do. Your input please ladies and gents. 🙂 Only have 1 FT and 1.7 ITB

        Everyone gets him in because he plays during the blank week. No one really wants him and he goes on to get 2,2,2,2 or injuries.

          Phillips had been brought in by many prior to the BGW last season and then picked up an injury. He was touch and go for weeks, then the week of the BGW Pulis said he was concerned about Phillips' "niggle".

          The majority transferred him out for Josh King, the rest is history. 🙂

              Yeah King went on some run but Howe still knew he was only an average enough player.

              Defoe probably brought in to take BOU to the next level after his returns at Sunderland, couldn't have gone much worse since.

                Defoe was never going to take anyone to the next level. Imo he was brought in for his experience and to fill a gap allowing Wilson a chance to prove himself. Good signing in that regard.

      I would say, not likely. Walcott is definitely a player score fantasy points better than Phillips. At the same time, he is playing for a club with teammates having better attacking flares than Phillips. You may dislike the negativity approach by Big Sam, but Pulis was even worse. Thus, Walcott should be a better bet than last season's Phillips.

    Anybody else feel that Burnley's sea of blue fixtures are a trap?
    I feel that their DGW assets will yield few points and we may be better even going with SGW assets ahead of them. They show little in attack and are not as convincing defensively as they were earlier in the season.
    Thoughts?

    Which would you rather?

    Coleman (if fit) for Brighton at home (GW30) and Stoke away (GW31)

        I think 31 is a trap, I've already got Pickford Salah McArthur Firmino Wilson and then before 31 each hit is more of a -2 than -4 if you pick players that will definitely play for ones that don't.

        Objectively, who will score more until then. Walcott or Mahrez/Eriksen -2? I'm sure you'd say Mahrez/Eriksen?

          You use a FT to trade out Walcott doesn't mean you sell him for free. a FT worth 4 points. You don't sell Walcott, you can spend that FT at 31, for example, Mbemba to Steve Francis. Technically speaking, your Walcott sales equals to the points lost by both Walcott and Francis at 31, which is around 7 expected points there.

          Assume you will sell Hazard for Eriksen anyway, now you need Mahrez/KDB to outscore Walcott by 7 points in the next 3 GW. If you believe so, you could do it. But personally I will definitely not do it.

          I will sell Hazard for Eriksen (coz he has a slight chance to feature at 31), then save the FT for next GW, or sell Ota/Jones to VVD

      I would say Vardy+Doucoure to Wilson+Mahrez because you can easily swap mid rather than forward. Also downgrade Alonso to Bavies and up Mariappa to Daniels to cover bgw 31
