Rivalries are up and running in the ScoutCast as my old adversary Granville moves 16 points ahead, while Az closes the gap in his chase of Jonty.

Inevitably, Gameweek 31 will likely have a say in these contests, with opinions on that reduced set of fixtures divided in this week’s episode.

Against the backdrop of Ragabolly’s brilliant and extensive research, we investigate the real cost of Gameweek 31 hits and the benefit on offer for Free Hit managers.

Elsewhere it’s the Fantasy Premier League rules that get a grilling thanks to your community questions. We wonder whether the Norwegians have stolen a march with their Fantasy Eliteserien inventions as we assess the merits of the current chips.

Then the controversial bonus decisions of Gameweek 29 spark another appraisal of the Bonus Points System, with Granville taking his turn to be nostalgic as he pines for the mysterious “man in the stand” of yesteryear.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday evening. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link on the first player below, or take in the full visual experience via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

What's the strategy if you have all of your chips left right now?

    Free hit 31
Wildcard to a good bench boost team for a big DGW
Triple captain later in the season on another DGW?

    1. Jarnathan

Free Hit 35, since you'll want to maximise the double teams in GW34 which are likely to blank in GW35. Most have already prepared for GW31 now with a view to WC afterwards. If no WC, just ride it out. The consensus seems to be that it will be a very low scoring GW with few favourable fixtures - there will be points but difficult to predict.

I'd make sure you have 3 Liverpool players.

Gabriel Jesus admitted the fear of serious injury is preying on his mind after a number of serious setbacks.

The Manchester City striker made his first start in over two months in defeat by Basle following a knee injury which left him in tears at Crystal Palace on New Year's Eve.

Jesus had come off the bench in City's previous three matches but conceded he is not yet in the right frame of mind.

'When you are in the game you end up thinking about the previous game when you got injured,' he said.

'Without wanting it you have a bit of fear. I think I still played with some fear. There were some movements when I still have some fear of getting injured again.

      7 years, 9 months ago

I would wait for the Spurs presser. I have the same dilemma on Son, a player in wonderful form, but who has terrible away form and has just played 3 matches in 7 games...

If Pochettino says the mood in the camp is low after the Juve defeat, players are physically and emotionally fatigued, and he hints at rotation, then I think Son goes. If he says they want to make amends for the defeat, and are angry, then I might play Son.

      1. The Rumour Mill

3 matches in 7 days that should say!

      2. Hotdogs for Tea

Spurs tend to be a little more conservative away from home and Son generally plays a bit tighter rather than as an out-and-out attacker ... and was even benched for the last away game. As you point out, Son had played 3 games in 8 days and Poch has a full contingent of fresh midfielders to turn to .... not looking good ?
