Gameweek 30 concludes at the bet365 Stadium tonight as Stoke City entertain champions-elect Manchester City.

The third most-captained player in Fantasy Premier League, Sergio Aguero, misses out due to a knee injury, with Pep Guardiola affording the fit-again Gabriel Jesus a first start since Gameweek 21.

Handed the armband by 1.16% of FPL managers, the Brazilian returned to the teamsheet with a goal against FC Basel in midweek.

Jesus is one of three players in the visitors’ starting line-up – along with Kevin De Bruyne (3.34%) and Leroy Sane (0.88%) – ranked in the top 20 captain picks for Gameweek 30 as they look for a repeat of the 7-2 win over the Potters back in Gameweek 8.

Sane heads into tonight’s match as the most bought player for this round of fixtures, acquired by 192,000+ new owners.

Meanwhile, Raheem Sterling – sold by a massive 339,000+ ahead of Saturday’s deadline – is fit to return and is named in the starting XI, as Bernardo Silva drops to the bench despite back-to-back strikes against Arsenal and Chelsea.

Guardiola’s side arrive on the back of successive clean sheets and boast the league’s tightest away record, conceding just ten goals in 14 road trips.

After scoring in three of his previous four league appearances, Xherdan Shaqiri is the man most likely to breach that resilience for Paul Lambert’s side, with tonight’s match affording us the chance to scout the Potters’ potential ahead of Gameweek 31’s reduced set of fixtures.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Definitely get the arguement for FH35 having more teams available, but I and probably others have just thought "Why not just go for it in 31"? Especially coming off a bad week. After all, a healthy proportion of FPL is luck based anyway. And I reckon with good planning I'll be able to get by just fine in 35 using my WC32 and FTs wisely. Anyone else agree? I'm assuming I'm not the only one who decided to just play FH31

Always the plan for 31 for me. 35 will be fine, and even better if MCI play.

I took the advice on here for FH35

      Regretting it now.

Had a team being smelled up by Everton for weeks, which meant missing out on Mahrez, Son et all

And now Siggy is orange flagged, Walcott yellow and Niasse is out of the team...great!

And I've taken a couple of hits to get 11 out.

It's gone pretty horrendously all round 🙁

      👿

Yep i agree, by focussing on GW31, we've ignored all the great players for the preceding GWs who like son & mahrez will ouscore walcott/siggy et al over a 3/4 week period

    6. Shultan
      • 9 Years
      7 years, 9 months ago

I guess it depends on your team. If you only have 3/4 players it prob worth free hitting but for me its not. Ive had 6 GW31 players for a while, got in walcott this week & happy to play 8 or 9 with a hit

    7. Pierce34
      • 10 Years
      7 years, 9 months ago

I always said 31 was better for the free hit, but it's conditional on your team doing well beforehand. If you have players like Mahrez, Son, Willian etc. then definitely free hit. In other words, I see the chip more as an enabler to get more points in the weeks before and after you use it - with the extra points on the actual week the cherry on top.

My mistake was hedging my bets a bit - I had the option to get Mahrez a couple of weeks ago but got Walcott instead, so given the state of my team it makes sense to save the FH chip for later. (I did, however, mistakenly believe Walcott would be a good move in general, not just for GW31)

yup, Liverpool Arsenal and man city likely to play along with a couple of other usual suspects meaning you'll probably have around 8 or 9 gw35 players anyway so hardly worth a FH for 2 players
