→ The 2014/15 season was Sergio Aguero's best ever for Fantasy returns. Seven of his goals/assists and 36 of his FPL points came in two meetings with which club that year? Scout Betting

With a bag full of points from the Scout Picks last gameweek, it was a surprise to see our Paddy Power wallet containing nothing but a used train ticket and a couple of crumpled receipts. Robert Huth’s early red card set the tone, with Sergio Aguero’s goal and a win at 4/5 the only market to come in. With Talent and Watchlist figures Gylfi Sigurdsson and Yakubu Aiyegbeni the main course of this week’s Flutter, it’s sure to be a feeding frenzy of rich returns.

The Yak is back. Whilst serving his three-match ban for a red card against Fulham, Yakubu’s Blackburn have slipped from their manager-saving form, topped off by a trouncing by Arsenal last weekend. Seemingly a talisman for the Kean revival, the sorely-missed striker will be essential to their tactics against visiting QPR on Saturday. Paddy have priced up a goal and a win at 5/2 and a brace at 9/1 . Both are tempting, but £2 on the former opens our account for another game-week.

Gylfi Sigurdsson has been around a bit since his early loan spells at Shrewsbury and Crewe. A 16-goal season for Reading and subsequent sale to Hoffenheim have cultured the 22 year old into a real creative force for the Swansea midfield. A pound at 20/1 for him to score and assist against visiting Norwich is a long price and a bit of a risk, but one worth taking since he performed the same feat against West Brom last week on the road.

Clint Dempsey has been the mainstay for Fantasy line-ups for many seasons now, always commanding a decent performance to Fantasy point conversion. Not a cheap prospect, but neither the lavish cost of Silva or Nani, Dempsey’s price of 8.9 is likely to continue to rise with favourable home and away fixtures coming up. A visit from Stoke may well be one of the tougher clashes of the next few, but Paddy’s offering of 5/2 on a Dempsey goal and a Fulham win is not short on confidence. A £4 stake here should bring home £14; a decent wager considering suspended Robert Huth will only be able to track Dempsey’s runs from the sidelines.

Last week’s ‘Who Will Score the Most’ market turned in a respectable 5 goals, and although our pick Demba Ba was among those on the score sheet, Robin van Persie’s battering of Blackburn left us empty handed. This week Rooney, RVP and Aguero are in the mix, but perhaps facing off against tougher competition. Aguero at 15/8 is the longest price of the trio as City travel to Villa, but with only a couple of quid left from our tenner bank roll, it might be a risk worth taking.

Money Back Special

All eyes will be on Old Trafford for the early Gameweek 25 kick-off between Man United and Liverpool tomorrow lunchtime. No surprise, then, to see Paddy focus on this one for this week’s Money Back Special. If Luis Suarez scores a goal at any point in the match, Paddy Power will refund all losing 1st /last goalscorer, correct score & scorecast singles. Paddy have also turned their attentions to this weekend’s Six Nations Rugby. If a number 11 scores the first try in the Italy v England, France v Ireland or Wales v Scotland clashes, Paddy Power will refund all losing try scorer bets on that match.

If you’re new to this betting lark and new to Paddy Power then you can take up any of these odds and offers and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Has anyone looked at the proportion of captain choices they've got right this season - ie captaining the highest scoring player on your team.

I've done it 5/24 times, including Rooney's 22 and RVP's 23, but also have had two 1 point, and six 2 point captains.

Overall it works out as 166/329 (Scores not doubled) so that's 50% of the max I could've had, or could have 160 extra points.

Where does this vague analysis leave me? Taking a gamble on Dempsey as Captain that's where 😛

I never got the greasemonkey add on last season, is it still around?

It's interesting to see, though this does include players getting unexpected high scores that you would never have captained, analysis might look a little bit different if you only include those you seriously considered for the armband as 'lost points' others you'd never get, ie when Vorm is your highest scoring player with a 12 point penalty save week, he's not captain material.

Love the post. Here's my stats, not including folks I never would have considered captaining:

      (started GW2)

10 correct captains - 13 incorrect captains, surrendering 99 extra points

wrong captain and red arrow - 4
wrong captain and green arrow - 9
right captain and green arrow - 7
right captain and red arrow - 3

3 biggest gaffes - RVP over Dempsey (gw22 for 15), RVP over Bale (gw18 for 14), RVP over Bale (gw23 for 13).

longest "right cap" streak - 3 (twice)
longest "wrong cap" streak - 5

      most right cap - RVP
      most missed cap - Silva

conclusion for this gameweek: I shall flip a coin.

    Hey guys. 2 quick questions

    1) Who to play in defence BAE or Caulker? Keeper is Vorm and other 2 defenders or Richards and Kelly.

    2) This is a 2 part question. First part, which of these 3 do you bench Ba, Sess or Valencia?
Second part, If you choose to play Ba does that affect you answer to question 1?

Sorry if this sounds long winded.

I'd double up, I reckon we'll have a swans CS, play Caulker.

      Bench Valencia.

And yes I can see Ba getting something against spurs, so you shouldn't start BAE, and Valencia doesn't look like he'll be that productive against Liverpool IMO.

I'm leaning this way. Swans have a good chance for CS and the last time I benched Ba was vs Man u and that didn't go well. With everyones teams so similar you have to chase the smallest edge you can find

If you won't need to replace Senderos, then don't. I think at this stage of the season transfers are just too valuable.

Having said that, if Raylor will be out for Wolves, there's no point in bringing Kelly for away game, better gw26 options are Taiwo, someone else from Toon defence or perhaps even a Stoke defender.

Enrique has way way way more chance of an assist, Liverpool games are generally more low scoring and Newcastle have been conceding heavily in away games

His fixtures have little to do with it really.
Spurs are a super attacking team and Uniteds and Arsenals defenses are pretty shite.
I can see Bale delivering in both those games so if you get him in then keep him.

Regarding this week its a gamble, were it Wigan I'd say do it but Newcastle......
I see them struggling without Cab and Tiote but 4 from Bale......
          2-0 Spurs I reckon.

I'm going with the cold facts/statistics regarding Bale:

            10 goals scored
            3 against Wigan
            2 against Norwich
            1 against Fulham
            1 against Bolton
            2 against QPR
            1 against Man City

All but one goal against bottom half opposition. I'd expect no more than a single goal from him tomorrow if he does anything at all.

Good basis to go with mate. I see it different as Spurs and Bale impress me everytime I watch them but I can see your logic alright.

I just made the change, Dyer is now in. I should mention that I also have Rooney, so I do have ManU coverage. Thanks for the moral support!

That game was at Anfield tho, so I wouldnt compare them directly

Still, its not too crazy and I can see logic in it. Liverpool defense is tight and Dyer is V Norwich...

      good shout i reckon
