David Silva will miss Spain’s friendly with Argentina on Tuesday, Stoke City’s attack gets a boost and a number of Premier League stars are in action during Saturday’s international fixtures.

Manchester City’s Silva has been allowed to leave Spain’s squad for “personal reasons”.

The 32-year-old, owned by 10.3% of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers, started and played 71 minutes of Friday’s 1-1 draw with Germany.

But he will play no part in Tuesday’s match with Argentina in Madrid and there is no official confirmation either way as to his availability for City’s fixture at Everton on Saturday evening.

Silva has missed a number of domestic matches this season following the premature birth of his son and this latest development will put the 55,000+ who have signed him ahead of Gameweek 32 on alert.

Diouf boost for Potters

Stoke City hope to have both Mame Diouf and Xherdan Shaqiri available for Sunday’s Gameweek 32 trip to Arsenal.

Diouf has missed the last two matches with a shoulder injury, leaving Potters manager Paul Lambert to make do and mend up front, with midfielder Eric Choupo-Moting and veteran forward Peter Crouch both used in the lone striker role.

Lambert’s assistant manager, Stuart Taylor, has now said that Diouf is “coming along nicely”. He is currently away with Senegal and could feature in Tuesday’s friendly with Bosnia Herzegovina.

Taylor added that the 12.5%-owned Shaqiri is continuing to rest after pulling out of Switzerland duty with a calf injury.

“You’ve got to go through the pain barrier which a lot of players do in fairness to them – Xherdan Shaqiri was one of those last weekend for us.”

The playmaker passed a fitness test to feature against Everton last time out, though according to Taylor, signalled to the bench to request his withdrawal on 76 minutes. While Shaqiri is willing to play with the injury, his ability to complete 90 minutes still looks in question, particularly at Arsenal in Gameweek 32.

Midfield stars in action

Three major midfield assets were involved in yesterday’s international fixtures, with the most popular – Spurs’ 15.1%-owned Son Heung-min – playing 75 minutes in South Korea’s 2-1 loss to Northern Ireland.

Son couldn’t repeat his blistering domestic form – he’s scored four goals in his last two Gameweeks – for his country, but he remains a key Gameweek 32 target, with more than 82,000 managers making him the third most purchased player ahead of next weekend’s action.

Swansea City midfielder Ki Sung-yueng played 67 minutes in Belfast, while West Brom duo Gareth McAuley and Jonny Evans featured for 90 and 68 minutes respectively for the hosts.

Arsenal’s 11.7%-owned midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan played the full 90 minutes in Armenia’s 0-0 draw at home to Estonia, with Liverpool defender Ragnar Klavan doing likewise for the visitors.

Meanwhile, Man United star Alexis Sanchez provided the assist for Chile’s late winner in a 2-1 victory in Sweden.

The 2.8%-owned attacker played the full 90 minutes and it was his shot, saved by Swansea City keeper Kristoffer Nordfeldt, that was turned in on the rebound to seal the win.

Nordfeldt’s club-mate Martin Olsson played the full match for the Swedes, as did Man United centre-half Victor Lindelöf.

Elsewhere…

Leicester City winger Demarai Gray scored for England U21s in a 2-1 win over their Romanian counterparts.

The midfielder captained the side and played 59 minutes before being replaced by Everton full-back Jonjoe Kenny.

Other Premier League players in action were Trent Alexander-Arnold, who provided the assist for England’s winner, and Kyle Walker-Peters, the pair both featuring for the full 90 minutes.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles played for 70 minutes but limped off with an injury which will need assessment. Meanwhile, Tammy Abraham enjoyed 84 minutes before being replaced by Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Lindelöf’s team-mate Eric Bailly and Spurs full-back Serge Aurier were part of an Ivory Coast defence that couldn’t hold on to a two-goal lead in a 2-2 draw away in Togo.

The pair played the full 90 minutes, while Brighton striker Tomer Hemed scored on the hour for Israel and was subbed off just a minute later as his side lost 2-1 at home to Romania.

Watford’s André Carrillo was on target for Peru as they defeated Croatia 2-0 in the early hours of Saturday morning, while club-mate Sebastian Prödl played the full 90 minutes in Austria’s 3-0 win over Slovenia on Friday.

Double up on United defence (Smalling and De Gea) or spread the risk (Lloris and Bailly)? Already have Son and Lukaku from those teams.

A lot of posts seem to come down to who to play from Gross, Murray, Barnes and Gudmundsson.

I am coming round to Groß- 2 good Home fixtures, Brighton fighting to stay in league, plays double and can be downgraded to help get Kane back. Only negative is no week 35 game which is important for those of us with no free hit.

    And

Barnes- cheap, will be on my bench other than double game week and if gets 1 goal over 2 games will be OK with that and can become JAyew ahead of 37. Wood is back of course but personally think both will start.

Main concern with Murray would be whether would play both games in double week with Locadia and Ulloa there also.

Does this sound about right ?

I’m currently on Gross and Barnes but not comfortable with Barnes. It could be Barnes, Vokes and Wood fighting for 1 spot so looks highly at risk of rotation, especially with Wood regaining fitness. Burnley might play 2 up front against Leicester but would be surprised if they do so against Chelsea.

I'm building towards a bench boost gw37 so while bringing in players who also feature in gw35. So I'm free hitting 34.
Triple captain will be Salah home last day of the season

Haven't really planned too much, but I got this so far:
      1. Bench boost - 34, with 1 SGW player, Salah (BOU).
      2. Free hit - 35
      3. Triple captain - 37, might bench Salah who plays Chelsea.

Christensen got sent home because of fatigue, nothing serious. Read that he is likely to start against spurs.

I'm still struggling with the attacking options. In particular: should I *really* get Aubameyang?

This is the current WC draft, with 0.1 itb, other chips available.

    DDG Ryan
    Valencia Alonso Monreal Morgan Lowton
    Willian Gross Salah Son Mahrez
    Vardy Lukaku Murray

    1. WVA
      • 9 Years
      7 years, 9 months ago

Really like that but yes ideally Auba would be in there. Personally I'm happy with just DDG from the united defence so would downgrade Valencia and there are a few uncertainties around Monreal so i would downgrade him too. Also i would downgrade GroB if it meant i could afford Auba over Murray.

Resisting the urge to be sarcastic here.

Mendy is A) Not in another country's league and B) May well have returned for the last few weeks of the season.

When he played for City previously he was very attacking.

Definitely a differential & one who could score decently at that. The only downside are rotation fears, and of course whether he will be fit enough for the first team after the injury.

What's your opinion on Lewis Cook? 4.3, nailed and got a DGW in 34. Alright he's got Liverpool and United but should be 4 points at least and dirt cheap?

4 points are not certain with those fixtures

How many do they have to conceed for a midfielder to get minus points?

It doesn't make a difference for midfielders. Just checked when Spurs beat Stoke 5-1 Joe Allen got 2 points for playing 77 minutes. Only defenders get the minus

He means Lewis Cook, the mid. Not Steve Cook, the CB

    How does this look:
    DDG Ryan
    Alonso Christensen Lowton Tark Morgan
    Salah Son Mahrez Willian Gross
    Lukaku Aub Barnes

    Pencilling in for 34:
    Aub -> Vardy
Lowton (or Christensen if it goes wrong) -> Spurs Def

      Would keep Auba for GW34

Why’s that? Vardy has a double

Because you'll want Auba back for GW37 and doing Auba to Vardy and back is 2 transfers that could be really valuable. Also Vardy as a really low ceiling and almost never scores more than 1 goal in a game. I think Auba can match Vardys points in GW34 with that fixture against Newcastle. I'm keeping Auba all season

I like the money freed up via Aubamayang to Vardy

Allows me to get Alonso in GW34

    Lloris
    Bailly Vert Robertson
    Salah Mahrez Son Willian
    Auba Lukaku Murray

    Ryan Gudmundson Lowton Morgan

Lloris + Robertson or DDG + Fernandez?

I strongly am thinking of FH34..I have all chips left.
But I fear people using TC or BB will easily outscore a team on FH for doubles.

I believe de Gea will outscore Lloris, but .5 million has its benefits also. For me it means Valencia. So I am tempted.

    1) Would you have willian&alonso or just Hazard?
    2) Is lingard still a reasonable pick from united attacker(Lukaku too pricey)

    DDG Ryan

    Alonso Bailley Mustafi Morgan Lowton

    Salah Mahrez Son Gross Willian

    Aubameyang Vardy Barnes

1.6 over for an easy Aubameyang -> Lukaku if needs be in gwk 34.

    Anything obvious I'm missing?

    Lukaku Aubameyang Barnes

9.4 to spend on the two spots...not looking good. Help?
