The ScoutCast crew are joined by the current Fantasy Premier League pacesetter in this latest episode, as world number one Bharat Dhody drops by.

With ice flowing through his veins, Bharat risks the curse that has seen us dent the title tilt for previous top-ranked managers to join myself, Jonty, Andy and Az for a ScoutCast season highlight.

Inevitably, the four of us are a little star-struck, but in between our desperate attempts to convince Bharat to keep his cards close to his chest, we put his season and current mindset under scrutiny.

Elsewhere, your community questions lead us by the hand as we assess Harry Kane’s updated application for the Triple Captain role, review the merits of a Mohamed Salah exit plan and scratch around for Double Gameweek differentials.

    Chasing 30pts in ML, currently 3rd with TC left to play.

    Top 2 have Sterling & Jesus with no TC left. One has BB

    I have Sterling, Jesus, Kane & Lukaku (Whos likely to become Aubameyang)

    4th Currently has Sterling, Kane and Kaku (who im guessing will become Jesus) and has TC left.

    Is it wise to TC one of the City boys as Kane himself is pretty much a differential, or because Im chasing should I be looking at Kane as the TC?

    Any advice is greatly appreciated, thanks 🙂

      A Jesus TC would cover your bases and give you whatever points they pick up + the TC, a Kane TC has the possibility of their C to blank and you get 40 pts more. I'd say Kane whilst chasing, Jesus if on top

      The fact that u have to catch 2 guys (as opposed to 1) changes it a little. U have to be more aggressive so TCing someone they don't have is optimal. That English striker at spurs is your man if neither are likely to get him.

          Fwiw and all to due respect to above repliers, but it's not a case of TCing who you think will score most. That rationale is correct for almost all of the season but in a situation where it's realllllly close like this, then there's a lot more upside in slapping armband on your differential, especially someone who's so proven.
          I'm using BB and captaining Sterling but in your situation, it would be Kane, even though I think he's *likely to be outscored by the other 2

          It's certainly a strategy for chasing, but I'm not sure if that particular move is worth the risk. I expect Jesus to play, and to score goals; I think it'll hurt your rank not having him. Still, just guessing!

    ****** WHAT IS IT? ******

    For those of you who haven't been around or aren't aware, every evening prior to the start of the gameweek FFS releases their picks of players for the gameweek, "Scout Picks", as well as 3 differentials before the first games to separate yourself from the crowd.

    This is your way to have a bit of fun and challenge those scout picks with a set of your own (read instructions below). This will always open the day before the gameweek starts around 8pm, and whilst you don't have to play weekly, the more you play the better chance you have of winning!

    Gameweek winners will also be awarded a spot in the Community Roundup article.

    ****** INSTRUCTIONS ******

    Everyone can have their own scout picks (there is no limit on team value) but with one simple rule,

    YOU CAN ONLY PICK ONE PLAYER FROM EACH TEAM
    (yes, two of your players at least will be on opposing teams).

    You can only have ONE submission, and your FIRST submission will be what is accepted. You also must respond DIRECTLY to this post (not to a reply on this post). FFS Scout Picks are automatically enrolled. Teams must comply with FPL formation rules and be submitted in an easy to read format, e.g.

    Deadline for this gameweek is Fri 4th May, 7pm.

    ****** SCORING ******

    Regardless of number of applicants, scoring will be done by the following:

    1st place: 3 points
    Top 4% of the population will rank "second" and score 2 points.
    Top 10% of the population will rank "third" and score 1 point.

    There is also a bonus point which everyone is eligible for. If you score higher than FFS' Scout Picks AND Differential Picks (i.e. 14 players), you will be awarded with a bonus point regardless of whether you were in the top 10% scoring positions or not.

    Tadic got some awful stats in away games unfortunately. What do we think of this? The situation is a bit different now from normal games because Southampton desperately need to win games.

    I'm a bit more hesitant of Gross-> Tadic -4p.

    Who to bring in for Willian?
    A) Arnautovic
    B) Tadic

    Note: I do play to bring Salah back for GW38.

    With Salah in mind, if I go for Tadic, I'll obviously switch Tadic (vs. MCI) back out, as part of a move with Vardy, to get Salah in GW38. However, if I bring in Arnautovic, I will probably not want to lose him for GW38 (vs. EVE). I have to lose -someone- to get Salah back...

    Would you lose Son or Silva for Salah in GW38?

      1) Kaku > Jesus (we know Rom is out; Jesus likely to play lots of minutes)
      2) Mahrez > Sterling (Sterling bang in form; Mahrez not)
      3) Willian > [X] (not urgent, but if you do this, I feel like it should be someone nailed, i.e. Arnie/Tadic)
      4) Lingard > Pogba (could be either 3 or 4 tbh)
      5) Alonso > Naughton/Mawson/Smalling (not last place as it frees up value, but Alonso is a great pick.)
      6) Barnes > Ayew (not a fan simply as Barnes is in form).

      I did a -20 once in a DGW and got a green arrow.
      It's probably not possible in top 50k but might be worth doing if you're in a poor quality ML.
