Last week saw Yaya Toure make an immediate impact on his return from international duty. Back in the City first XI for the Europa League trip to Porto, the Ivorian picked up both assists in the 2-1 win and propelled himself onto many a Fantasy radar. With City hosting Blackburn and Bolton over the next couple of gameweeks, he’s already received almost 21,000 transfers in this week, nearly double that of David Silva’s 11,000.

One of a handful of players who have started every game when available for City, Toure is considered nailed-on under Roberto Mancini. A Fantasy Premier League (FPL) price of 7.5, compared to Silva’s 10.5, has many contemplating a move, with the budgetary benefits a key factor in his possible acquisition. With United’s fixtures, in particular, easing up from Gameweek 28 onwards, dropping Silva for Toure would free up the cash to bring in the likes of Wayne Rooney up front for the season run-in- a point made in this afternoon’s Toure Watchlist article.

Toure is the obvious differential of the duo, too; while Silva is owned by 44% of Fantasy managers, the Ivorian sits in just 8% of squads. Another point worth noting is that Toure has been fielded as part of the attacking midfield three in both matches against Porto since his return, though his adaptability means there will always be a chance Mancini drops him deeper and rotates other alternatives.

Silva, however, has unquestionably been the most consistent Fantasy performer of the pair. Averaging 5.6 points per game, in comparison to Toure’s 4.4, he has produced more assists than any Premier League player and, with 140 points to his name already, his potential is clearly superior.

Using our very own ICT Index and the Opta stats available to Members, we evaluate their respective seasons so far and, crucially, analyse Silva’s performances both with and without Toure in the City team in order to ascertain whether his role changes with the Ivorian on the pitch:

    Sorenson
    Richards, J Evans, Simpson
    Moses, Bale, Silva, Walters
    Ba, RVP, Aguero

    Mignolet, Dempsey, Taiwo, Kelly

Do ya reckon the bench is in correct order? Just got Moses in for a 4 pointer so I could facilitate Graham to Ba, so I am reluctant to bench him!

I just replied to your post on the other page, but you should also check your keeper rotation, after GW28 it starts going wrong -

      28: MCI/che
      29: ful/blank
      30: EVE/MCI
      31: tot/wig

So really you should try and fit in a transfer, probably Sorensen to Schwarzer at some point.

It looks like a good plan, but something will always spoil it, injuries or whatever 😉

I transferred BAE out 2 weeks back, that backfired, considering his 18 points since, but when I turn back to the Spurs defense I'll pick either Kaboul, Dawson or King, whoever looks more nailed on. I wouldn't touch King because he's such an injury risk, he doesn't train thanks to his knee and can only manage 1 game a week.

How do you think Pool will line up in the final? In my opinion all the expensive signings will play as well as players who have been in the team for several years, i.e. Kuyt.

    Reina
    Johnson Skrtel Carra Enrique
    Kuyt Gerrard Henderson Downing
    Carroll Suarez

With Bellamy coming off the bench as an impact sub.

      I ended up playing:

      Lloris
      N'Koulou, Aronica, Arbeloa
      Fabs, Frei, Kroos, Gaitan, Nocerino
      Messi (C), CR7

None of the midfield did that well, defence just got 2 clean sheets, thanks to madrid and barca conceding, and picking Fabs over Mata was a bit of a mistake.

Quick vote to play: Taarabt (FUL) or Dempsey (qpr)?

An obvious winner on form, but I agree with some on here that Taarabt could end up having a decent 2nd half to the season and I'm tempted by the differential

Remaining front 6 forcing this decision -

    Yaya Toure, Sessegnon, Bale
    RVP, Ba, Aguero

ok just checked my ML, no one within 100 points of me has Silva. Thus the question is stick or twist? The guy leading me took him out for Dempsey last week. Surely I have to keep him in with him being THAT much of a differential in my ML.

He's only a good differential if he scores you points 😉

That said, against BLA/BOL he should rack up some points, if he doesn't he's getting booted out - might anyway.
His goal today was good, and so was his link up play with Yaya, hopefully Yaya will increase his output.

I'd stick for the next 2 weeks at least

Should I drop Bale(vs.ARS) this week for Y. Toure(vs.BLK). If I did my midfield would be,

    Dempsey(vs.QPR) - Sess(vs.WBA) - Toure - Silva.

Then I would also have enough left to fit Ba(vs.WOL) into the starting line-up.

Val > Sess/McClean? Saves you a lot of money as well.. From what MON said in press conference, Sess will continue playing a wildcard and McClean is in superb form.. I think you should change HBA esp with Cabaye and Tiote coming back to bolster toon mid

Would it be wise to start J,Evans,Cahill and Santon at the back and leave Richards on the bench just to be on the safe side?

Safe side of Richards playing 90 minutes tonight and the risk of him being rested against Blackburn?

That's always a risk you take with Richards. You really need to get rid of him asap if you are going to be scared to play him.

I've stuck by him and I really have no intention of getting rid, it's just with him playing 90mins tonight as I said. I probably will play him..I was just looking to get a few opinions before I made my decision

Hey guys. Would you rather have team A or team B for this gw? I still have my W/C

    Team A:
    Vorm

    Richards, Santon, Kelly

    Bale, Silva, Mata, Sess

    Ba, Dzeko, RVP

    Team B:
    Vorm

    Richards, Kelly, Caulker

    Bale, Silva, dempsey, Sessegnon

    Ba, Aguero, RVP

      Ouch 8 straight reds 🙁

Id like Mata there for this gw only, but you'd need to save 2 transfers if you plan to get Rooney soon (I assume).

Plan to get rooney and hopefully Valencia back when I WC around gw28. The reds have been hard to take but hopefully I can turn it around this week.

Can't believe people are still going with Yaya over Silva after reading this brilliant members article. Well, maybe they didn't? Or couldn't? 😉

I'm choosing between him and Raylor this week. Swaying towards Raylor.

      Pros of Cahill:
      1) Cheap way into CHE defence
      2) Attacking defender
      3) Reasonable short term fixtures

      Cons of Cahill:
      1) Still not guaranteed gametime despite JT being out (Bos, Ivan, Luiz, Cole could still be preferred)
      2) Chelsea are off form, not looking tight at the back
      3) Chelsea are likely to have a blank in GW29

Definitely. Anyways most of us have Krul & Simpson at the back. If I had an open NEW spot, I'd have got Raylor as well. Also, keep in mind Raylor should be considered a mid 🙂

Huth & Bale -> Raylor & Mata (both free) - madness? Got Bale at 8.9m so would lose 0.4m if I sell him now. Would likely bring him back in 5 weeks with my WC after his tricky run and the DGWs kick in....

Nailed-on until JT's back by the looks of it. Atleast for the next 3 GWs. Could be a great chance for him to prove his worth, especially with Luiz (as a CB) under scrutiny in the last 3 games.

Really tempted to bring Mata in this week. Quite fancy a CHE backlash at home to BOL and he'll sure be amongst it.

Huth & Bale -> Raylor & Mata (both free) - good move? Still have my wildcard for bringing Bale back when fixtures pick up...this would give me the below team this week

    Sorenson (SWA)
Kompany (BLA), Simpson (WOL), Raylor (WOL)
Silva (BLA), Mata (BOL), Dempsey (qpr), Sigurdsson (sto)
RVP (TOT), Aguero(c) (BLA), Ba(vc) (WOL)

Schwarzer (qpr), Moses (AVL), Rangel (sto), Caulker (sto)

I'm thinking of Mata for this week also but wouldn't do it at the expence of bale. Maybe cut Dempsey? Arsenal are so bad at the back I fancy tot to bag a few past them and Bale is likely to pla a decent part. Nice team for this GW.

Yeah that's true. I can't afford Raylor & Mata if I lose Dempsey though, plus Dempsey has great short term fixtures, whereas Bale has (ars, MUN, eve, Blank, che) in the next 5. I'd be very impressed if Bale scored big across those games! Would be a gamble to drop him no doubt, but it could just be a stroke of genius... 😉

Well given my record I would do the opposite of what I would suggest lol. If your ok with the funds to bring bale back the go for it. I just figured most would be losing close to a mil if they sold Bale then tried to buy him back in a few weeks

Haha, yeah I know the feeling!! I got Bale at 8.9m so would lose 0.4m if I sell him this week, so not too bad. I'd probably bring him back in around 5 weeks with my WC so as long as he doesn't go nuts in the hard games it could be a decent move... :-s
