Best Huddersfield players to sign on FPL in 2018/19 – Complete Members’ Analysis

Huddersfield Town made a mockery of the doom-mongering pre-season predictions to avoid relegation in their debut Premier League campaign.

The Terriers, who were odds-on with the bookmakers to make an instant return to the Championship before a ball was kicked, only fell into the drop zone once in the entire season and finished four points ahead of 18th-placed Swansea City.

Town’s squad was among the cheapest in Fantasy Premier League last season, with not a single player having a starting price of more than £6.0m. The same is true for the coming campaign, with striker Steve Mounie the most expensive asset in David Wagner’s squad.

Jonas Lossl, Christopher Schindler and Mathias ‘Zanka’ Jorgensen broke the 100-point barrier in FPL last season and all three have been priced up at £4.5m again this time after their value-for-money performances in 2017/18. Midfielder Aaron Mooy, Town’s highest-scoring outfield player in FPL last season, is also a non-mover at £5.5m.

Only the sides who finished in the top seven kept more clean sheets than Huddersfield (ten) last season, though the Terriers’ concerning form in the second half of 2017/18 – in which they won just three of their final 20 matches and recorded as many shut-outs – is worth noting to Fantasy managers ahead of the coming season.

In-depth data on Huddersfield’s season is available in the Members’ Area, while Fantasy Football Scout members can also read our detailed analysis of the salient statistics in the article below.

How do you think Arsenal Attack will line up this year? I'm hoping the below but am guessing one of Mkhi or Ozil will miss out for Xhaka.

    Auba Laca Mkhi
    Ozil Tolisso Ramsey

He's already said he wants to play Auba and Laca together!

Where's the source for this? I'd be interested to read that

I think it will most likely be either Mkhi or Laca to miss out depending on fixtures. Also - Tolisso? Guessing you mean Torreira.

Not really news though. Now need to focus on Sarri's tactics, likely formation and chosen starters. I rate him and am looking at double-chelski.

Not sure we’ll get a great idea on Chelsea starting line up in pre-season due to WC absentees. Think I’ll wait until GW3-4 to see how they’re lining up. Might take some time to adjust away from the 3 at the back shape as well.

Fixtures are enticing, but Arse GW2 and away at Newcastle after who Chelsea notoriously play badly at is putting me off even more. Then GW4 we will know more and bring Azpi, Alonso etc in.

Morning guys. Any budget options from the newly promoted teams? Looking for a cheap defender and possibly striker?

Wolves defence should provide decent value - Douglas at 5.0 gets you attacking threat as well, but Doherty at 4.5 could be a good shout too.

Harder to call strikers - interested in Mitrovic if he joins Fulham.

I'm really looking at Wolves too. Even if he starts the majority of games, Costa at 5.0 seems like a perfect first-sub.

Good shouts. Salah at 13 is too much imo. Going without him I think

Bonatini at Wolves? made 43 appearances for Wolves last year, 12 goals which isn't prolific but still young so may increase his output... And he's only 5.0

Yes, all unknowns in the PL, but at 4.5 you've got defenders Doherty and Boly at Wolves. Jota at 6.5 is listed as midfielder but appears to be as much a striker. The cheapest striker is Fulham's Kamara at 4.5. I'm waiting to see if he's a likely starter alongside Mitrovic, assuming he joins. Cardiff have Reid at 5.5 who appears to be their first choice striker.

“I think a physical part of that is going to have a huge bearing. We only have a two day recovery and I'm sure some of the guys won't be able to get out there,” Southgate said.

“I would be really surprised if Kieran Trippier is out there, Ashley Young too. Jordan Henderson is also feeling his hamstring. So we will have to make changes and do what's right. But we'll assess them before picking a team.”

I suspect we'll see pretty much the same line-ups as the last England v Belgium game with the exception of Kane starting to secure his golden boot.

Will know during pre-season... he’s a place holder for whichever Utd defender looks the most nailed on...

Hoping Shaw or Lindelof emerge as they are only £5.0M

Could use some feedback on my first draft I've been tweaking on for quite a bit:

    Begovic/Fabianski
TAA , Cédric, Alonso, Van Aanholt
    Salah, Jota, KDB, Eriksen, Walcott
    Firmino
    Bench: Daniels, Jimenez, Quaner/Kamara

I know it's risky leaving out the big hitters up front but can't decide on anybody standing out straight from the off..
Was thinking Auba but with those two first fixtures heavy mid and defence seemed better value..

Any of these defenders not nailed (once teams are settled back after world cup)

    Robertson
    TAA
    Douglas
    Coleman
    Bellerin
    Daniels
    Mendy

Alonso is a no atm go Azpi
Young is a big no for a few weeks, Coleman maybe
Lovren is a big no for a few weeks, Pva maybe
Rest is good, prefer Arnie to Tosun though especially with Sigi

midfield looks a little light especially with the risk of Sane getting rotated , he should be ok for the first couple of games though

Sane should be fine for first month, only true left sided player and has had a rested summer. Salah is auto captain. Groß was almost Willian and may well be yet, but he’s a bonus point machine and he is on every set piece there is. I think Jota will be one of this years grabs in midfield. Cairney i know not too much about.hopefully it holds up, if not sane can always become another 9.0-9.5 or a downgrade for more funds. Also have 0.5 ITB.

So Wan-Bissaka looking nailed then? Do we expect him to be right back for the season?
