The results for the second round of the Members Paddy Power Cup II are in and can be viewed right here. 256 fantasy managers became 128, after battling it out in Gameweek 26 for a place in the third round.

An above average number of drawn matches in the second round, saw 11 managers progress thanks to their overall rank. Relying on their previous hard work this week were RedcarRed, seanmcging, Back to Back Ballacks, Denis Denis, Browndog, Marvellus, Encaiter, stewpot, Billy Ketsu, skooldaze and Horizontal.

The reigning champ, Kippax Kikkers, is still in the mix after a comfortable 56 – 46 victory over Sounerous.

An amazingly low-scoring week produced a top score of 63, with only one manager breaking the usually standard 60-point mark. That title goes to sandgrounder, who defeated albion74 by 12 points in the process.

Congratulations to everyone progressing, and of course commiserations to those bowing out at this stage. The round three fixtures will be drawn and announced shortly.

Opinion seems divided. Already getting Skrtel and i'll want Rooney in the end anyway, so i guess i'll just stick with him, rather than risking a punt on Suarez.

Yeah definitely, I would keep him if I could but have to take him out for Enrique to afford Rooney, however I'm keeping Hart over the option of having 2 Liverpool defenders for a hit. I imagine B would be for a hit?

B with a view to getting Kompany back after City vs Arsenal. Liverpool have great fixtures after the DGW, and i wouldn't mind doubling up.

      Also prefer Pilkington to Surman

        swansea CHELSEA stoke SUNDERLAND arsenal

I'll admit these aren't the best fixtures, but I'd expect at least 2 CS' there....although for a hit to get Reina I would have him and Enrique for:

EVE sunderland qpr WIGAN newcastle ASTON VILLA

An extra game and better fixtures....may have to rethink this 😐

Id do this hit! The extra game will basically cover the hit and would rather Reina for his fixtures! Then Reina > Friedel is an option if you need to save some cash!

    Mignolet Ruddy
    BAE Kompany JEvans Caulker Simpson
    Silva Bale Dempsey Dyer Ferguson
    RVP Aguero Ba

Suggestions please for bringing in a Liverpool and a Man Utd player as of next week with my 2FT's. Currently have £0.3 in the bank.

I'm reluctant to suggest selling Kompany but can you afford Bad K to Enrique and Kun to Rooney?

Your midfield needs some work. As an alternative maybe downgrade one of the big hitters and upgrade Ferguson. No decent Liverpool options in midfield so maybe Silva to Valencia, then get a Liverpool defender and upgrade Ferguson the following week for no hit. Again, I'm not 100% keen on the transfer but your team value seems low.

    Given / Begovic

I wouldn't. What do you need the cash for? Think you're better of waiting a week like MAC says. Also if City dont play in GW 29, then you could be a bit stretched

I'm going to reassess the Dempsey situation before GW30 and will only shift if:
      a) he's not playing up front AND b) his threat on goal is poor

I think getting rid now is too early, especially with the short-term fixtures.

Plus it depends what you want the cash for!

Yeah it was. He'll surely start though, didnt get injured or anything, & the travelling isnt a worry. You could play Vorm, but i think you'd want to sell him soon after. Would wait and get Evans after Spurs - United

    ok...how bout this:

    Bale > Scholes

    Fletcher > Aguero

I feel like Tottenham have two very tough fixtures coming up and odds are his return is going to be a lot less than Aguero. Id rather have Bale than Scholes but I like Scholes in GW28 vs WBA...and Aguero's return is potentially too high for me.

    FFS UCL Group C - GW26

    Benfica
    points: 56 = 4 = 60
    transfers: 0
    captain: Kun (Ba)

    Manchester United
    points: 43
    transfers: 1
    captain: Kun (Ba)

Fergodog will be fuming at his Manchester charges who seemed to play a suicidally open game away to Benfica, despite missing personel. The hosts, led by TorresMagic, cast a strong spell to emerge victorious by 17 points. And we thought the Champions League would be a tight affair. Everything went right for TM on the night. Whilst Krul may have shown little improvement over Vorm/Sorenson's nil point, Kompany, Simpson and Shawcross brought home the bacon with a tasty 15 point haul. Fergodog
will be hoping to steady his team and churn out a series of 1-0 victories now. For TM, the scalp of a top 10K player will be a fine trophy to start the competition.

    FC Basel
    points: 35 + 4 = 39
    transfers: 3 (-8)
    captain: Ba (Kun)

    Otelul Galati
    points: 52
    transfers: 1
    captain: Kun (Dempsey)

Another sizable margin of victory. JoeySamSam masterminded a famous away win for Otelul. Sir Arselot sought to use home advantage to bring in some fresh faces. Aguero, Yaya and Ba duly arrived, the latter walking straight into the captaincy (ouch!). 8 point hit, 12 point return, ok so far. However the outgoing players scored 13 points - gah! If it's any consolation, it didn't matter in the end. Leaving Mignolet on the bench did. JSS, even with no playing keepers and 3 first choice players out, put in a quite magnificent performance that shows the virtue of keeping it tight. Plaudits to Cahill and Simpson whose 10 points were enough on the night. Special mention to last week's new arrival, Dave, who notched a Ba-beating 6 points on his debut.

    Hi all,

Just discovered this awesome site and have been reading the various viewpoints on here over the last few days, I only wish I had discovered it sooner.

Currently I am in 3rd place in a private league around 70 points behind the 1st and 2nd so could do with a little help to pull that back.

    current team

    Schw/Mign
    Evans/Simpson/Rich/Komp/Kelly
    Bale/Siggy/Sess/Silva/Demps
    Ba/Yak/RVP

One opponent always (c) RVP the other rotates him and Aguero. I was wondering what you guys think of making Yak my captain this weekend? No transfers available this week btw but I currently have 5M in the bank.

Best strategy is looking on your team and making it as strong as possible. Do not look at your opponents teams.

70 pts is ok,reachable. Make sure you prepar for next week, which is DGW. Make sure that CHE-MIC might not be played in GW29. Be one step ahead of your opponents.

Team is nice.I would swap Richads for LIV defender. And I would never capt.Yak. Try to get Rooney in, after this weekend, for Yak or Ba. What was your last transfer?

that was not very smart transfer, you should have do Richards ➡ Skrtel/Enrique

Will you have enough money to bring Rooney in next week for Yak?

It is not worth bringing LIV player for a hit, my opinion. Although I will bring one (necessity).
