As Gameweek 27 approaches, 128 fantasy managers are eagerly awaiting news of their third round opponent in the Members Paddy Power Cup II. The waiting is over, as the draw has been made and the 64 fixtures can be viewed right here.

The reigning champ, Kippax Kikkers, has a tricky third assignment against gosh. Although ahead of him in the overall standings, the difference between them is a slender eight points.

Last week’s top-scorer, sandgrounder, may not need to repeat his heroics of round two, as he massively out-ranks his opponent:Garrydoherty84 sits 52,404th in the world, over 44k places behind top 8,000 manager sandgrounder.

The Scout team flag is flying extremely low, as we only have one remaining Contributor left in contention. PureOlivia will be aiming to save some face for us against Hopes Fears Dreams.

I’ll bring you the results of the third round shortly after the Gameweek concludes. Good luck all!

      ( A )because Friedel has great fixtures and gives the chance to use Pool / City/ Manure defenders every week.

      Valencia is 2m cheaper o you can upgrade elsewhere, Fergie loves him and I feel Nani will be less consistent. Look at his record for the season. Prefer Demps & Valencia any day

          I don't think Val will come back an continue his previous good form. He could end up in RB alot. That may change but i'd play Demps and wait.

    Defence i wont lose BAE as will lose too much and i like him . Think Toure is just as good as Silva and much cheaper .

      if you do get suarez i'd consider keeping until gw30. dgw, qpr, WIG, then ditch the guy unless he catches fire during those weeks

      1. I like the defence till the end of the season. Many weeks play 4 at the back. Fixtures are good.

      2. Mids, I would still have Silva over Toure or have both and drop Nani.

      3. Forwards have good fixtures, and you can downgrade Saurez to Ba and upgrade someone in the mids when Bale gets fit again

      Looks a good team, with plenty of balance. Fixtures are great for them all too.

        only downside is no chelsea ,, but i guess im not alone there , not having rooney could also hurt me , but that a risk will have to take ,

        Would prefer silva to toure but financially it not an option , for the money i think toure the best bet as it allows better balance elsewhere. If i had my time again i would never have sold adebyour , he now costing me much more to buy back, maybe i could go Saha instead ?

          No not saha, unreliable game time and injuries. Why not Ba? Then you can go with Silva?
          I agree on Ade, my error too with all the Ba / Aguero / VP template fever.

          Another idea, just leave that forward line and play with the mids. So many good options.

          I have also thought of having 1m in the kitty and just play either Rooney or aguero each week at home by using the free transfer, and captain them at home if VP has bad fixtures

      gotta disagree with you, Trigger. Getting Suarez, even for a double, is just asking for 4 points.

      think about it; they guy has never scored double digits. That's way too powerful, right there.

          This. Whilst no huge scores, he's got 7,7,9,6,8,9,5,6 over the 18 or so games he's played this season.

          I'd take 2 of them in the DGW...

            You are of course ignoring the ten times he has scored 2 or less.

            More than 50% of his weeks fail? Even when he scores, never more than once a game? Rarely gets bonus due to all the poor shot taking he does?

            That's got four points written all over it.

              Yep, so by the law of averages let's assume he gets 2 and 7. I'll always take 9 points from a player in any given GW.

              Add to that he has easier than average fixtures in the short term, and IMO was unlucky not to score bigger in games earlier this season.

              Of course, this is all opinion - only time will tell!! 🙂

                I think he was lucky to score as higher as he has, considering how poor his shot selection is.

                Fair enough if you think 9 is good for that gameweek. I think theres no possible way Rooney doesn't outscore him, there. I think if you add up GW28-30, I bet Ba ouscores Suarez, even with Suarez getting an extra game, and ba in 2 mil cheaper. Suarez is just a bad, bad fantasy options considering his costs.

                Number twos or ones this year:

                Rooney: 8
                RVP: 7
                Aguero: 11
                Ba: 9
                Ade: 9
                Suarez: 10

                And all have except ba have played about 4 more games than Suarez. the difference? All of those strikers except Ade have have reached double digits 5 times this year. Suarez has yet to ever do that at all.

      Yeah, pretty decent.

      Only criticism is that you're unlikely to ever play Mclean with the other front 7. Personal preference, but I quite like having 2 cheap options in midfield to rotate with each other, so I'd do something like Valencia/Nani, Yaya & Ade -> Silva, Pilks & Rooney.

          Holt or Pog are decent options. Not sure I'd want to lose RVP though - would take some serious balls that!

          I'm going very punty in my WC - Walcott is a huge gamble but one that could pay off - NEW, eve, AVL, qpr in the next 4....

          Valencia, Yaya, Ade -> Walcott, Pilks, Rooney (does that work?)

              If you must have Suarez, then get Nani/TonyV instead of Gerrard and that team looks great. You have to think Gerrard rotates way way too much to that kind of price tag.

                Gerrard -> Nani if you get Suarez
                Suarez -> Ba if you Gerrard

    will not be making any decisions or moves until i hear more about bale but assuming he is out 3 or so weeks does it make sense to ditch him?

    cuz on one hand don't want to hang on to an injured player but yet i still have 4 good mids in dempsey, silva, sess and siggy and i will be wanting bale back in 4 weeks assuming he's fit. plus id be wasting a transfer and have to get .4 to buy him back that could be used to upgrade elsewhere...

    any thoughts? what are you guys doing?

        as good as bale is i don't see where he would fit in given all the attacking talents we have when fit: messi, villa, sanchez, pedro, afellay, cesc, iniesta, xavi, even thiago. and theres some rumours that we might buy neymar

        what we really need is some better defensive cover. especially a good center back or two when puyol and/or pique are injured which seems to happen too much for my liking...

              I'd probably do something like this as my front 6 of a 4-3-3....

                i agree with you that is very strong. but its hard to leave out busquets. pretty underrated player. sure he's not an attacker like the others but his role in the barca midfield is very important to them. theres a reason he starts for barca and for spain

                  Sorry, when I said "not all over" I meant I don't know what the current first 11 is. They are the best club side in the world and have been for years. Real getting dangerously close though....

                  How old is Xavi? Perhaps he could swap with Busquets?

                    ohhh ok i gotcha. i thought u meant u weren't too impressed by their starting lineup. i agree with you that real are extremely close. that's why they are 10 points clear of us in the league cuz they are pretty much on par with us and have been more consistent against the lower teams... only reason real haven''t done better is we thankfully seem to have their number when we play head to head

                    xavi is 32 but i wouldn't be dropping him anytime soon. he's been 3 place for ballon d'or for the past couple years. and this year i think he's scored the most goals in a season or something like that.

                    guardiola is just lucky they've had injuries (villa, afellay and a few short term injuries) cuz it'd be a nightmare to decide on a starting 11 when everyone is fit! like if i was him i dont think i'd sleep at night cuz id be too busy fretting over the starting lineup.

            true, i guess he could. would just seem hard/weird for such a strong attacker to go back to defender. and although abidal isn't world class i think he's a very strong player. and he's very well liked by the fans and i think by guardiola too. i remember how much support he got when he had surgery last year

      Getting rid of Enrique was foolish. I honestly thought the DGW would be weeks away. I'm just stupid.

      I think I'll get him back, just not sure.

      I think DGW coverage is preferable in defense, but not in offense. Liverpool just don't score enough to play how expensive their players cost when one considers the other options available.

            Danger is SAF easing him back in with sub appearances. A Young is scoring again (for England at least) and Nani is normally 1st choice. Also, if I do (A), Simpson, Kelly & Caulker (later on) rotate quite nicely with JEvans & Skrtel.
