pulled the trigger yesterday on bavies to Mendy. Almost certain it will backfire.

5 risers in my team. Anyone beat that??

Wait. You got rid of Bavies before he's playing Fulham at home? Five risers don't matter. Points over pounds every single time.

so you thibk Mendy won't score points???

I'll have both the pounds and the points thank you.

And, by the way, YOU are the one who is “almost certain” it will backfire.

being a pessimist helps a lot when it comes to FPL. Reduces the frustration.

Yes it could backfire next week, but in the longrun, 6 to 8 weeks later, bar injuries,Mendy will outscore bavies by a mile.

Bavies will probably outscore any Pool defender in the next 6-8 weeks though given the fixtures

I dont think so. Spurs have too many away games in the coming weeks and were VERY lucky not to concede more than one goal vs NEW.

I prefer Pool’s fixtures than Spurs. Davies will score more points in GW2 but not over the next 6-8 weeks

Bavies if played every week then yes, though with rose back he’ll probably be rotated.

Agreed but in this instance could be both points and pounds. I must say I would have stuck with Bavies though.

I did the same. Cut your losses. Mendy was extreme, poch said he would rotate more.. If we waited, we would have to do 2 transf to get it done. I admit it in hindsight i should have started with Mendy, and not Davies.

Yeah, it’s first time in a number of seasons where I’ve had a great GW1. Normally have to battle away for weeks and make ground up in the 2nd half of the season to try get in the top 10k!

Just need to maintain it now or else it will feel like a wasted opportunity.

I think Hazard (if not sold to RM) will have his best ever FPL season this year. I'm starting him in GW3. The system under Sarri is very promising

Has trolled me so many times on FPL, won't be going anywhere near him this season. He is one of those players who blanks when you own and hauls when you ditch. Most frustrating player to own.

    3. AndyCook
        7 years, 3 months ago

Probably get a couple against Arsenal - that’s exactly the sort of thing he does. Got to keep him for the season really and accept that you won’t captain. He is sporadic

I’ve been thinking this myself. Sarri’s style of football is so attacking, and Insigne used to flourish under him...plus, if he’s moved inside as a false 9, he could have a Mertens season!

          1. Francescoli
            • 11 Years
            7 years, 3 months ago

Judging from last season, he makes for a terrible false 9.

Hazard is a big wait and see imo.

      Start one:
      A. Mark Noble (BOU)
      B. Kenneth Zohore (NEW)
      C. Patric van Aanholt (LIV)

Currently I have Noble. But, Stuart Attwell, referee of the West Ham vs Bournemouth match, has awarded only 61 penalties in 380 matches.

      1. Demel
        • 14 Years

Easy answer. C has the best attacking threat. A wouldn't be the worst pick. Noble offers very little going forward.

      Foster --- Patricio
Mendy • Robertson • Shaw -- Peltier Awb

I can see my rival has made two transfers so I thought I’d try to work out what he’d done by checking how his team value had changed. His team value is still the same even though he has 5 players who have risen. Are we not being shown changes in team value until the start of the next GW this season? I’m sure it’s been visible in the past?

I find it very useful. The comparison tool and stat tables are invaluable for decision making.

Plus, it's nice to be able to read the stays in members articles, despite the way they're spun.

I think the articles and the site in general have taken a downturn recently, especially this season, but the data options make membership worth it for me.

I agree with you on the articles, feels like they're just regurgitating information serious players already know. I don't really bother reading them anymore.

Eye tests beats comparison tools for me but it is a useful tool I won't deny that

I've got it each year for 3 seasons but to be honest I don't untilize it fully. The most beneficial thing for me is being able to adjust the fixture ticker, I dont get too caught up in all the numbers, some people play the game through the numbers though so it depends what kinda player you are.

If you're just flicking through for the articles then any information here is readily available through other sources and the comment pages.

Its not that expensive though, probably worth a try for the season, if you don't feel you need it then don't bother with it the following season.

Match of the day, Scoutcast, Jay Egersdorff, WGTA and FPL General will provide you with all the information you need. Reddit and twitter are a great way to keep upto date with breaking news as relevant content is easier to find than on this site. Comments section here is good for discussion.

If you spend hours on fantasy football, then I think membership can add to that enjoyment with the articles, members stats etc so worth it in that regard as part of the 'hobby'.

I'm terms of improving your fpl rank, maybe, I think you can get the tools in different places if you want, it's just a bit more investigative work yourself. So fplreview does some good free projections which imo seems like as good as or better model than rmt but you have to put in your own minutes. Understat is arguably better for expected goals data. I don't know where you find all the player position stuff but sure you may be able to find elsewhere. Likewise there are several places like whogottheassist and others that create decent analysis content.

But if you're into the game, it is a pretty cheap hobby (apart from time!) on the whole so £15 isn't much if you feel its easier just to get most of your info in one place

The site provides such a wonderful resource for FF players. The fact that you get so much for free is the only reason you dither I suspect. The subscription is so low spread over a season that you'll definitely get value through the extra access articles and members area tables and tools.
But mainly I regard paying as a big thank you to the FFS team for having created a site that I spend ridiculous amounts of time on and which provides invaluable advice and the very best opinion year after year.

Jimenez, imo. Made some excellent runs and generally had a good game.

Jota will probably keep pace with him long-term. Maybe penalties will swing it.

Unknown. Perez has a bug fight to win a place either on the wing or up top. He has the quality, but unsure whether he'll show it.

Makes Arnie that little bit more of a risk, but wouldn't be too worried right now
