The January wildcard meant many managers ended up with very similar teams, but with injury doubts, tougher fixtures and the promise of double Gameweek profits, we’re starting to see those broken up and a host of new names being thrown about. With just 12 weeks to go, if you’re going to make a move on your mini league leader then it’s probably now or never; playing safe simply isn’t an option any more…..

Peter Odemwingie

As the hottest player in the FPL game over the last two weeks Peter Odemwingie is hardly an undiscovered talent, but with an ownership of only 3.5% the Nigerian International still very much falls into the ‘Differential’ category. An early season knee injury and subsequent fallout with manager Roy Hodgson saw Odemwingie increasingly marginalised in the West Brom setup, but that all seems to be behind him now; he looks like a new player recently and his confidence is overflowing.

West Brom are on fire at the moment; their 4-0 thrashing of in-form Sunderland followed a completely dominant victory over Wolves a week earlier, and Peter Odemwingie has been at his clinical best. Five goals and 30 points over the last two Gameweeks may flatter the Nigerian slightly, but it was no fluke either. Odemwingie has simply relished his new role on the right-flank, enabling him to cut in and threaten opponents – something he’s done more effectively than any other striker over the past two Gameweeks.

Pavel Pogrebnyak

In stark comparison to last year when injuries meant they were often forced to play without a recognised striker, Fulham fielded five at once at QPR last weekend; Moussa Dembele, Clint Dempsey, Bryan Ruiz, Andy Johnson and Pavel Pogrebnyak all started with the latter two playing in the formal striker roles. Andy Johnson offers an interesting option priced at just 4.7 in the FPL game, but it is new signing Pogrebnyak that most caught the eye last weekend and priced at 6.0 and with an ownership of 0.4%, the Russian could be a great third striker option. He recently admitted that he has found the frantic pace of the Premier League exhausting, but that hasn’t seemed to have stopped him banging in the goals so far.

Fixtures continue to fall Fulham’s way over the coming weeks, with home games against Wolves, Swansea and Norwich in the next five and having some representation from the Fulham attack looks almost essential right now. Clint Dempsey has been one of the most popular picks in recent weeks and still offers a strong threat, despite being relegated to a wide midfield role but at 9.2, many will be questioning the value considering the wealth of alternatives in midfield. Pogrebnyak offers an interesting “Differential†then, and if he can keep his starting role up front then he would be a much better value route into the Fulham attack.

Ryan Shotton

We’re always on the lookout for potential “Out Of Positionâ€(OOP) defenders, and have been keeping a close eye on the progress of Ryan Shotton at Stoke, with Tony Pulis seemingly preferring the local youngster to Jermaine Pennant on the right flank. Now that he has shaken off the injury problems that were causing him problems last month, Shotton looks set for a continued run of starts in the team and with Pulis suggesting this week that playing in midfield is “very much a long term option for himâ€, we’re backing him to bring in the points this weekend.

With a home tie against Norwich up next, Shotton looks like great value at 4.0 considering his potential at both ends of the pitch. He had a great game against Swansea last weekend picking up an assist and a clean sheet, and although Norwich have a pretty good record on the road this season, they will find it hard to break down a full strength Stoke side and another home shut out looks a real possibility.

It's hard to bench Bale, he could score vs anyone. And I will be watching that game, gonna be terrified if I got him as a sub. Maybe leaning towards Sess myself, but not easy benching him either..

He is only there for when one of the front 7 doesn't play.

You just have to take the missed points. Liklihood is the 5th mid will outscore someone in the front 7 every week, this has even been true in Moses case the last few weeks.

Come on guys give me some help here!!

I'm top of mini league ahead of 2nd by 73pts and 3rd by 80pts. 3rd is no threat as his team is 80% similar. However, 2nd place is probably about 50% different. Cannot decide whether to make a change or 2 or stick with this

    Krul
    Kelly Kompany Simpson
    Dempsey Silva Bale Sessegnon
    Ba RVP Ageuro (c)

    subs Mclean BAE Caulker

    Transfers I'm thinking about are;

    1. Sess and Ba out... Mata and Holt in....reason is 2nd place has Mata.....my reason....if I have similar players the less chance he has catching me (am I crazy?)

    2. Sess and Kompany out.... Yaya and Shawcross (or similar) in....just going for city attack!!

    Comments appreciated!
p.s logging off now so hopefully will have the answer at dawn

Barcelona will sign him for sure.

Like with Fabregas it is only a matter of time until he wants to go home and he will be lobbied incessantly by the Spain (mostly Barcelona) crew this summer.

I don't want to see it, massive gain for United but an even bigger loss for the Premiership.

ok since I want you to turn Mull over, let's see what I can do

Senderos is doubtful so Simpson may yet come in, but I'd play him just in case. Chamberlain was always a risk, and you may have to take a hit next week (I'd look at Surman for him)

Right, I've analyzed this to death and throw my team to the crowd - I'm sick of the identikit players and wonder if anyone is worth swapping. DGW obviously a bonus, but I'm just looking for a realistic differential because this is getting stale.

Unfortunately, 0 FT. Willing to take 1 hit.

Could do that. Only thing is I'll obviously be accommodating the DGW next week and as things stand that'll be a hit - Skrtel in for Richards and Rooney in for RVP. The midfield's a bit uninspiring. If I took a hit now on getting Adam in for example, he might have a chance of paying for the hit and then with my transfers next week I could have Skrtel and Adam for the DGW?

I have Simpson, Caulker and Vorm to your Sorensen, Santon and Evans, identikit indeed.

But Richards to Skrtel is a good idea, can always go back to the city defence in future, I'd consider a Liverpool attacking player - so thats either Adam or Suarez, but there doesn't seem much point getting either this week vs Arsenal, when you dont want to lose any of your strikers for this week, and Adam is not better than Bale or McClean for this week. (Assuming Val to Adam, bench McClean)

Personally i'd leave your team for this week, look at it again after this weekend before the DGW, and decide whether to take a hit then - Liverpool and United have runs of fixtures that will surely pay off any hit you take, even if Liverpool's DGW doesn't pay off on its own.

I had 2 FTs so used one to sort out Sorensen and i'm leaving the planning for the DGW til next week, I've spent far too long tinkering without making up my mind - you're best to leave it, there isn't anything urgent to change for a hit.

And having kept Valencia this long there seems no point in getting rid when he could be back so soon

    Van Persie Aguaro (C) Ba

Subs: Vorm, McClean, Kelly, Assou Ekotto

£2.4 in the bank. Transfers already made this week so anything more would be a -4 hit. Considering doing Ba to Suarez next gameweek. I also think that i'll nrrf some Man United coverage pretty soon. Any thoughts?

An 8 point hit next week to consider:

I'd do Cahill to Skrtel, he's not worth the price IMO.

Other than that its Aguero and/or Ba to Rooney and/or Suarez.

Considering your team and 1 FT next week i reckon you should stick with Aguero to Rooney which is fairly standard
