    Bottomed
Been off grid for a few days and just logging back on to see Wally still flagged and my likely go to transfer in Fraser being flagged also.

What would you do with this lot? WC still intact

    1FT £0itb
    Fabianski, Foster
    Alonso, Mendy, Robbo, PVA, Wan-B
    Salah, Mané, Mkhi*, Wally*, Hughes
    Aguero, Wilson, Kamara

    A) Mkhi, Wally, PVA > Hazard, Billing, Bennett (-8)
    B) Mané, Wally > Hazard, Neves/ Fraser if fit (-4)
    C) Wally > Maddison
    D) Mkhi > Pedro/ Maddison
    E) Save FT

Although A) seems OTT it would give me the wonder 3 mids (Salah, Mané, Hazard), Alonso/ Mendy/ Robbo and Aguero/ Wilson plus Wan-B and Hughes to complete starting lineup

Happy to be schooled here if any of these options are clear choices!

    Cheers

My two cents on the scoutcast.

I normally wait until the Scoutcast is available as a podcast to watch so have not watched tonight's yet. Contrary to popular opinion I thought last week's was a huge improvement on the previous ones this season. There was more discussion, more challenging of opinions and everyone felt less worried about expressing themselves. For me this is the only thing that has missing. The guys not being scared of expressing their opinions and being more interested in each other's team and critiquing their picks or choices and not just everyone focusing on their own teams. Mark seems to be the kind of guy to think outside the box and happy to hear new ideas and opinions so would be happy to engage with everyone else's picks and teams so would naturally have an opinion on things. If everyone was more willing to do this and focusing less on their own pre-planned team/strategy and favourites, the show would natually result in more banter without having to "force" banter.

This is classic troll when stat vs eyetest.

It should be both with eye test slightly better than stat.

Every year, they said VVD have good threat . Yet, he scores only one every hundred years.

Stat not everything. The same thing, many people said dont ditch Salah because his stat. The eye test said otherwise.

Mohamad Salah will be good, have goals and assists, but for 13millions, he is not worth it when we can get Mane. Salah maybe outscore Mane but the different is not so big bar injury. At least for now. If after two or three months Salah be Salah before his injury (Ramos, the judo footballer), then Salah will be considered again.

Dusan Tadic, another classic example when stat blinded people.

It is not always good with stat.

Combine it with eye test and use our first and 2nd brain. Use your gut.

Really. My eyetest says "Hey, this guy can`t score 10 yard sitter with keeper on the ground. Are You mad enough to give 13 millions for him?"
Auba similar....can`t hold any ball in penalty box.

It was the same last season. Salah missed a lot of big chances and so did Sterling, yet they were the top scoring mids.

Yeah, I said earlier. Mohamad will get a good number of goals and assists. I admit it.

              But so do other players.
The one thing to consider, he is 13millions.

You can get good couple of players with that money. Captaincy can rely on Aguero and maybe Laca. I can see Laca have more minutes and become more nailed. Or you can get anyone who u think better.

Hazard, Lukaku and Dilva is good. Dilva worth 10 millions when KDB is injured. He play every single game last season before have some personal reason. Pep will manage the minutes but Pep knows the team needs Dilve.

They are not at the top. Pep must be so hungry for points.

            This.

The same thing u can said about Lukaku. Lukaku a good player, but he is not so sharp.

He miss big chances too, one also in Leicester game. Make Sanchez miss valuable assist point in gw1.

Then, thats why u see he is the highest in expected goal score. But read it from another perspective. He should score but he not score.

Thats mean bad. If young Messi or Lewandowski get all this chances, the opponent will be perished.

One thing is, Salah body language looks like Messi when he miss penalty. This thing cant be said in stat.

Stat is not everything. U must have football konwledge as a player and manager at the fisrt place too. Glad I have some of that.

Salah not yet a sharp shooter. He get so many chances because his average position is the highest compare to his teammates but he is not clinical enough.

If you play football, you know you get different result when put different forward but the position, style of play, opponent, tactic is the same.

Salah is good, but he is not the best finisher. I admit he should score a brace, and even hattrick in certain games but he dont.

When he play against weak opponet for Egypt, he should score five but in the end he just score twice.

Some footballers have less confidence after injury.

I think Salah get some of that after his 'accident' with Ramos. Maybe trauma is the word, but not so suitable.

I dont think he is clinical last season. He still miss good chances. But with so many chances, he will not be a footballer if missed all of them.

        Thoughts on this WC team?

        Patricio - Hamer
        Mendy - Alonso - Shaw - Doherty - AWB
        Hazard - Mane - Pedro - Schurrle - Hojbjerg
        Aguero - Lukaku - Mitrovic

        * Pedro -> Richarlison in the near future
        * Lukaku gives me another captain option and his next 4 fixtures look ideal for some returns (wat WOL whu NEW)
        * I can rotate Schurrle with Doherty / AWB

Like the Lukaku shout a lot: currently trying to engineer him into my WC. He’s definately in form and good fixtures over next 4.

Not sure about Hojberg as 5th mid though. Could you down grade Doherty to Bennett and get a £4.9/£5m mid? Say Cairney or Hughes or someone.

          Very good team though

I somewhat agree. But having seen Sarri pick his contrasting wide forwards in Italy, I think he'll start most games and Willian will be used in cups. Pedro offers a directness that Hazard and Willian don't provide.

For the few games he may miss I think he'll comfortably outscore Maddison.

Because he is THAT good. Yes he'll miss a few games here and there but these days very few players will play every game. Also fullbacks will generally either start or not play at all, which means he should avoid frustrating one pointers

This is my opinion but wow...just listened to the scoutcast. I managed to painfully sit through it up to the point where they did a quiz on their own egos and had to switch off.

        Seriously needs work.

How is this in any way constructive?

As I have been a listener for many years. This was by far the worst one in its history and I feel that if nothing is mentioned, then it wont improve because again in my opinion, its in decline.

I think you'll find this has been mentioned an awful lot. The guys have acknowledged they know that it has been heavily criticised already and have been open in wanting to improve it.

No issues with not liking it but saying its awful and should be canned, with not one constructive suggestion is just unhelpful and serves no purpose imo.

exactly mate, your opinion, my opinion.

My opinion the quiz needs to be canned, finished or whatever word you feel doesn't hurt your sensitivities.

It was awful, not good, could be improved. Again pick a word that doesn't make you feel like I am being unhelpful or making my point.

I misunderstood. I thought you were saying the scoutcast should be canned!

Not sure how you managed that when I replied directly to the comment about the quiz. Fair enough.

I have the opposite opinion - I really enjoyed this scoutcast and the quiz was a good reason why - was only short, but broke up the monotony of talking about the same things I've already heard plenty of times on other podcasts/this forum over the past week.

Is he fit? I feel like no one cares except for us FPL managers, so its not being reported

Press conferences happen before every game. Just wait for Bournemouth's.
