Aside from all the talk about Harry Kane, there are still several differential options available in Gameweek 8.

We’ve picked out three more players owned by less than 5% of Fantasy Premier League managers who can help propel you up the overall rankings.

This week we are turning to assets at Leicester City, Wolves and Manchester United.

Jamie Vardy (£8.9m)

Ownership: 4.8%

A Gameweek 2 sending off and the success of James Maddison (£6.9m) has hit Jamie Vardy‘s (£8.9m) ownership hard in the early part of 2018/19. But the Leicester City man is still a great option to own for Gameweek 8.

In the last four Gameweeks, only four players have registered more shots on target than Vardy. He also ranks joint-third for shots inside the box and is still on penalties for Leicester City.

His next opponents are an Everton side still with just one clean sheet to their name in 2018/19. Vardy is especially fond of the Toffees having scored four times and assisted twice in his last five Premier League matches against them. In that run, he has won two penalties, scoring two himself.

Vardy looks like a good option for long-term investment too with Arsenal (away), West Ham (home), Cardiff (away), Burnley (home) and Brighton (away) also coming up in the next six Gameweeks.

Adama Traoré (£5.5m)

Ownership: 0.6%

Adama Traoré (£5.5m) may not have started a match for Wolves yet, but he is certainly pushing for one. The rapid winger has promised attacking returns if he can get some more minutes on the pitch.

In the last four Gameweeks, Traore has managed five shots on target, the same as Sergio Aguero (£11.4m) and Mohamed Salah (£12.9m). He has achieved that in a fraction of the minutes, registering just 105 to Aguero’s 271 and Salah’s 317.

Wolves go to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace in Gameweek 8 and look like they will have plenty of opportunities to score. Only two sides have allowed more chances considered to be ‘big’ by Opta in home matches than Palace this season.

Chris Smalling (£5.8m)

Ownership: 2.2%

Any Manchester United player is going to be considered a differential for Gameweek 8 after their surprise defeat to West Ham last week.

However, the nature of their upcoming fixture demands some attention from Fantasy managers.

Newcastle United come to Old Trafford with just one away goal to their name this season. Furthermore, they have the lowest shot tally on the road in 2018/19 and are in the bottom efforts on target too.

A clean sheet looks on for Chris Smalling (£5.8m) and his United colleagues, and the centre-back promises some attacking threat too.

The Magpies are in the bottom three for set play attempts allowed away from home so far this season, and Smalling has already found the net once in 2018/19.

I am bringing Mane IN next week for Liverpool fixtures but that is mainly due to all my league rivals having him and I have a decent lead thus far.

      Considering:

      1. Mendy > Trippier,
      2. Mendy Kun > Shaw Kane,
      3. Salah Ings > Lamela Kane

      WC likely next GW

Go with 3. I took out Aguero with a view to WCing next week and regret it as lost value. No worry there with Salah and you probably won't want Ings on WC anyway so no worry about losing value there either.

With risk of jinxing it (for me, you and all other Kane owners) I would go with A since it's for this game week. Otherwise I would've chosen B.

Also, be aware if you aren't already and if you care about history (and psychology), ever since Sterling left Liverpool he always has his worst game of the season at Anfield. I think he's a great fpl option and I will try to get him into my team ASAP, but for this fixture last year I even benched him (he got 1 point even though he started). With that said I've surely jinxed him to get at least 10 points..

      1. PrettyDick
        • 8 Years
        7 years, 2 months ago

what about Kane + Aguero and then Knockaert (great fixtures), bank the gw9 transfer and then use two FT in gw10 to get Sterling in and downgrade Kane (for Arnie maybe?) Is that even financially possible?

      2. Teror
        • 11 Years
        7 years, 2 months ago

Yeah I know Sterling doesn't perform well at Anfield but I want to avoid having built-in transfers on my WC – it's an unpredictable game and you never know when you might need them. For what it's worth Aguero hasn't scored there ever, not with City not with Atletico. So its a risk either way.

    3. PrettyDick

I'd go B or C for this GW and next and then get Firmino in (which you should be able to do in a single transfer) since Firmino has City this week, and then he'll be away with the brazil squad playing two games and returning a few days before Liverpool's away fixture, so he might very possibly come off the bench then. (Or at least await that future Klopp presser and if it seems like he could start you could do the transfer for gw9 even if you wanted)

whatever you go with, good luck!

I’m looking to get a Mitrovic Aguero and Arnautovic front 3 after international break.. But would need to take a -8 but in the long run it should be worth it..

    Kane Trippier and Kamara
    To
    Aguero Jonny and Arnautovic

I think this could be great for the long run, is this a bit excessive? Only taken one -4 this season

Not sure it's worth the -8, but long term that's a brilliant strikeforce... but then again i would say that considering I already have it.

Can anyone see anything better then my two options? Decided not to get Kane in.

    Appreciate the feedback, thanks all.

No money, sorry, forgot to mention it.

Don't feel confident playing Robbo this week, I never bench him, but can't see City not scoring and hoping for Robbo return something is not something I feel confident about. I'm willing to take that risk for this GW only.

Thanks for the tip, keeping Fraser still.

My head is hurting, I am currently on my WC
Pls RMT and give some advice

    Foster / Patricio
    Alonso / Tripier / TAA / AWB / Bennett
    Hazard / Mane / Knockaert / Hughes / Masuaku
    Kane / Aguero / Jimenez

And what will be ur bench choices, if i stay with this team

Don't like the midfield. Doherty over Ben

    Hennessy/Patricio

    AWB/Doch

One def will play because Mendy

Spread the risk or just go with the two home players?

Don't have Patricio, but going Docherty with Hennessey. Think there are valid arguments for any combo tbh.

Would you consider benching Robertson for one?

          1. MTPockets
              7 years, 2 months ago

Assuming Mendy's out I'll have AWB starting over TAA. Robertson's a closer call but would still probably bench him too.

I'm concerned city will adjust their expectations and strategy after being outgunned by LIV on a few occasions. I worry the unlikeliest 0-0 could be on the way

It's possible. Liverpool at anfield good so far and 3 cs.

Never been so stuck with what to do. Need to do a transfer as have 2 FTs, but don't think I'll be getting any Tottenham in..

          Zaha -> Arnie ?
Laporte -> anyone? (he's currently first sub though)
Salah -> anyone on a one week hokey cokey

I would go with Wilson. When they score he's getting something almost every time and he's where you want your player, in the box. Tight call though as Fraser baps monster

Tinkering with the fringes of my squad, these would be moves for the long term, injuries permitting.

          Tarkowski and Jorginho

          to

          A. Mee and Gudmundsson (exact money)
          B. Mee and Knockaert
          C. Mee and Gundogan
          D. Duffy and Pereyra (exact money)

          Any responses much appreciated.

Not sure this is the best week to FH. Only the Spurs game looks likely to be a big win.

Tough. Awb or robbo for me. I'd probably go robbo as he could very well be in with an assist if it's an open match
