Gameweek 28 enters it’s second day of action, which sees the top two sides in the country play simultaneously before the televised Norwich City versus Wigan Athletic game. Despite no TV coverage for either of the Manchester clubs’ games (in this country at least), the Dugout Discussion opens nonetheless to follow the events at the top.

The teams sheets from both our 2pm games are in and, starting at Old Trafford, are as follows…

Man Utd XI: De Gea, Jones, Ferdinand, Evans, Evra, Young, Carrick, Scholes, Welbeck, Rooney, Hernandez.

West Brom XI: Foster, Tamas, McAuley, Olsson, Ridgewell, Odemwingie, Andrews, Morrison, Mulumbu, Brunt, Fortune.

Having been turned over by Athletic Bilbao on Thursday, Sir Alex makes several changes with Rio Ferdinand, Michael Carrick, Paul Scholes and Danny Welbeck all returning the the starting eleven. West Brom make a couple of alterations, with Gabriel Tamas and Chris Brunt installed in the starting line-up.

Swansea XI: Vorm, Rangel, Williams, Caulker, Taylor, Allen, Britton, Sinclair, Sigurdsson, Routledge, Graham.

Man City XI: Hart, Richards, Savic, Toure, Clichy, Barry, De Jong, Nasri, Toure Yaya, Silva, Balotelli.

The home side are without the suspended Nathan Dyer, so in comes Wayne Routledge in what is their only change from their previous outing. The league-leaders are much changed following their midweek defeat in Portugal. Roberto Mancini takes another gamble away from home by starting Mario Balotelli on his own, leaving Sergio Aguero on the substitutes bench.

Enter the Dugout Discussion chatroom to keep up-to-date with the goings-on in Manchester, Swansea and Norwich. It can be accessed right here.

ok folks it's that's time again. RMT 😉

Schwarzer (who will likely continue my tradition of benching the wrong keeper to make it a whole month)

    Evans, Santon, Skrtel

    Bale, Silva, McLean, Dempsey

    Ba, RvP, Rooney (c)

      B.
bale's next 3 home games are STK, SWA, NOR, saha would need to be on the pitch to take advantage of them which is far from a cert with VDV and defoe fit now. also young had a good game today but like with saha the return of nani and valencia makes him a slight risk, rooney like bale is pretty much nailed on and as highlighted today has pens to further bolster any score

      Mata 4.8

Hey guys, could use some advice.
I’m on 22 points so far this week. Left Vorm and Caulker on the bench, got a midfield full of 2 pointers, etc. Would it be irrational to pull the WC trigger tonight? I really need to turn it around before it’s too late.

This is the team I fielded this week...

    Al-Habsi
    Skrtel / Evans J / Taiwo
Dempsey / Bale / Yaya Toure / Silva
    Pogrebnyak / Suarez / RVP

(Vorm / McClean / Caulker / Simpson) [2.2 in the bank]

right so I had my H2H with Mull this GW

He was at home so had the 4 point advantage, but took an 8 point hit so

Does that mean I have the 4 point advantage? This could end up being the crucial factor unless Krul gets 3 points or more as he will be 2 ahead of me after auto-subs.

Am looking at him or Mata, it will depend on funds (ie. who I replace Silva with and who I replace Ba with, which might be Jelavic, Everton have some tasty fixtures GW30 onwards.)

Lampard's been bloody poor this season though.

A few penalties and tap-ins have masked a very bad season for him.

Can someone else look at the list of players to be added after the next FFS league update and tell me that it's not the same guy twelve times over... (the caps locks kinda give him away... not to mention the identical names throughout)

Surely he would have the foresight to use twelve different emails... such commitment... 😕

Spurs need to beat Stoke basically. I reckon going in 0-1 down v Utd really knocked the stuffing out of the team + Harry pissed about with a winning formation to fit Saha in. It looked great at home against Toon (note how Harry celebrated totally out of character - always likes to let everyone know when he thinks he's played a masterstoke), but not at Emirates or at Everton. VDV looks lost at the moment and don't like Modric on the left. I'm confident we'll find some form again though. I would leave Kaboul alone though.

    Cry me a river.....part 110 or something.

I had only enrigue before this gw and was happy with that, dgw didn't seem very profitable.
Then after last gw fiasko (I had ba vc, others mainly dempsey + caulker/mcauley coming from bench - me sess), tought I MUST try something different to get back in the game...

Only wanted roo in for aguero and C for him this week, but then took a punt for suarez too (for ba) and even captained him.
Best / worst part is, that most of my rivals did aguero => suarez and captained him!

If I would have stucked to my original plan I would have been at least little closer, but now - one more bitter gw for this season.

JK, I've seen your message for me on the other page and I believe you have your maths wrong.

I'm on 29 with Siggy's 3, Moses' 2/3 BP's, My 4 point home advantage but an 8pt hit. This equals (after the hit) 31/32 points + Krul to come
You're on 30 with nothing else to come.

    So I win!!! 😆

Indeed I do, I only had 4 point start.

If Krul has a shocker you may be in trouble. You have been let off by my 13 points on the bench. I think you will just edge it, but I will be top of the table on GD.

was at work so went to check on my phone. I saw the score and was like, "anyone but Moses." You have unless Krul gets himself sent off or injured, but it won't be by much. A fabulous battle, you need that after last week, but it wasn't the hiding either of us promised. Need to check on the other match, but Hart's penalty save will have done Dudu a world of good me thinks, if he wins that it puts us in a great position.

Silva & Bale. the great connundrum.

Been brilliant all season, but have been poor lately.

Im already thinking Silva > Young, but worried about Bale too.

The writing was on the wall for Bale when he failed to get anything in a 5-0 Spurs win a few weeks back.

So are people considering ditching Bale, and if so, for who?

I think so too. I won't offload him with the fixtures he has and without the great deal of great premium options we have in midfield atm.

Neither are must haves at the moment. If you're not worried about the lost cash, look elsewhere. United midfield if you don't have any there, or improve some other part of the team. Having a Manu goalee / defender with attacking potential looks tasty. As does Liverpool, though you never know where you have that team.

If you want to trade a top midfielder with another, and you have Liverpool, what about Dempsey? Mata? Or Walcott. Of those, though, I only think Dempsey is worth his money.

I think it is a little. Form fluctuates. But, it will return after a few more lackluster performances, I think. assuming they'd play the same team week in week out, I think it will take them 2-4 matches before they're back in the groove.
