Has Salah finally shaken off his bonus points repellant?

Mohamed Salah (£13.4m) might have finally shaken off his aversion to bonus points this season as his Fantasy Premier League form continues to impress.

The Egyptian has recorded ten additional points through bonus in the last seven matches, which is 83% of his total for this year. If he continues at this rate, he could eclipse his tally for last season.

In the 2017/18 campaign, Salah broke the all-time FPL total score for a season but still only managed to add 26 bonus points.

A high number of off-target shots and offsides, as well as the fact that he was tackled fairly often, were all contributing factors to Salah dropping down the bonus points charts.

However, Liverpool’s number one attacker seems to have made improvements in all of those areas in recent weeks, to the extent that he has been averaging 1.43 bonus points per match since Gameweek 16.

In fact, Salah’s 11-point haul against Brighton in Gameweek 22 was the first match in which he has produced only one goal and earned bonus.

It was, of course, a match-winning goal, which does raise bonus points, but he has scored in two 1-0 wins before the one at the Amex Stadium and earned no bonus in either of them.

Prior to that, Salah has had to score another or provide an assist to put himself into consideration for the extra points on offer.

So that means something must have changed in his underlying statistics to endear him to the bonus points system (BPS) more than last season. Fantasy Football Scout members can read on and see more of our analysis…

Bou are much better at home so it's a 50 50.

I will still go with Fab for saves.

my Firmino problem: Crystal palace. firmino couldn't score to Brighton last week and Salah is only from a pen. He is not as good player
my Auba problem: I just can't stand Arsenal in fpl they are trolls

that leaves me Agüero as premium striker. Hope he plays more than 60mins

or buying Sane and Jimenez, but that cause a deduction -4

Salah might not be on pens as Milner expected to play right back.

Aubameyang for 3-4 weeks is my last chance for an arsenal player. Dropped Haz for him so better be worth it 🙂

    Bottomed... What we saying lads?

    Fab
    Digne Doh Shaw
    Salah Sane Rich Anderson Pererya
    Rash Aubam
    (Button, Jimi, Alonso, AWB)

Not ideal for them first 2 subs but can't see who I'd switch for. Prefer Burnley to Leicester hence Pererya over Jimi... and he is early game so exciting either way

    Doherty - Robbo - Kolasinac - Trippier - Wan-Bissaka
    Hazard - Salah - Pogba - Richarlison - Höjberg
    Firmino - Rashford - Barnes

Hopefully she flies well the comming weeks.

I swapped him for Rashford. If you've already got him... Aguero is more of a homer, and his good next two fixtures are away, plus an on form Jesus will limit his game time. Firmino has been scoring a lot of late, next four are fairly easy. He can be hot/cold and L'pool form is not what it was pre-City game, but you wouldn't rule out a decent hawl. Auba has Chelsea and City in the next three, although there is Cardiff inbetween. He may get a brace there, but if he doesn't, likely it's 1 goal in 3. So Firmino looks best option short term. However long term Auba is the highest scoring striker in the league - so depends how long you expect to keep him.

Pretty shocking. Played 6, blanked in 5. Got a brace against Spurs.

Play Rich (sou) or Jimenez (LEI)?

On Jim for now, on penalties, at home and SOU defence has been looking fairly solid recently.

Anyone want to change my mind?

No. Just waiting for the chance to sell Richarlison. From memory he also crashed and burned around this time last season.

OK, I'm guessing this has been asked and answered a hundred times already.

Will Poch play Lorente or a midfielder (Deli, Moura, other) as a striker?

No one really knows. My money would be on a midfielder, probably Moura - but big gamble to go with it now.

Salah in for Felipe Anderson, -4 ? Seems worth it, but Anderson's not got back fixtures either. Have a lot of money in the bank after switching Kane for Rashford!
