The best Arsenal players to sign for Blank Gameweek 27

Fantasy Premier League managers are looking to Arsenal to plug the gaps in their squads for Blank Gameweek 27.

With Manchester City, Everton, Chelsea and Brighton all without a fixture next weekend, Southampton’s trip to north London has grabbed the attention of many.

The Saints have just six points from a possible 24 in their last eight away matches, which they have lost by a score of 16 goals to 10, so the interest is understandable.

In this latest Members’ Article, we have analysed which of Arsenal’s options are the best to consider for Blank Gameweek 27, as well as for the future.

We will also be comparing these top Gunners against assets from other teams to look at the broader issue of how to factor Blank Gameweek 27 into our long-term plans.

Assuming the 3 favourites (WOL, CPL and CHE) go through in the FA cup, we are left with just the following 4 fixtures in GW31....

    BOU vs new
    BUR vs lei
    FUL vs liv
    WHU vs hud

Seems silly to use the FH chip for this, especially given most of us will likely have 2-3 LIV and 2-3 from the rest already. Thinking the below looks the way to go at the moment.

    FH32
    WC34
    BB35
TC36 (or another DGW if one comes up)

      Agreed with all things
      EXCEPT
Chelsea being the favorites to go through 😉

🙂 I agree, United look a good bet at 3/1

Not sure what I should be cheering from an fpl perspective with no CHE and Digne/Siggy in my team!

          Let me give you two:
          1. Chelsea have great run of fixtures from gw 28.
          2. Chelsea going out of FA cup means they'll play gw 31 & outside chance of having dgw in 32 If their fixture with Brighton is scheduled there

          😉

Yeah, but most rivals already have 1-2 CHE so that gives them an advantage...

I only have 2 Liverpool at the minute. Maximum I'd have is 7 without hits.is that enough for 31

Last year's big blank, you basically just needed Salah(c) and that was 90% of your points 🙂

So I wouldn't stress out over fielding a full 11 that week.

I'd probably take a hit or 2 to make it 9.

If you subscribe to the notion that taking a hit to take out a non-player for a playing player is only -2pts, not -4pts that is.

          Agreed.
Also nearly every alive person would © Salah so not much upside in points in that gw.

              Yeah.
I blown mine otherwise I'd have TC Mane as a punt as he'll play Fulham's pathetic RB 😀

Agree. I’ve 5 currently for 31, happy to make it eight and ride it out. Many teams need to strengthen their benches as I do in order to fully utilise the bench boost - so it’s two birds with one stone imo

      Kamara > Rondon/Barnes
Jota > Fraser (fixture swing added plus)

And then just Doherty to NC defender

      Job done!

        Exactly my plan too.
I'd keep Doherty though & bin Kiko + awb for 2 defender's if needed

Makes sense, although if you still have your WC left you can sort your bench our for the BB shortly before when WCing.

Why does it seem silly to use the FH?

I'd argue that it's quite nice getting the option to have the likes of BUR, WHU, BOU, etc. players for just the one week, rather than for getting them for longer than that... Especially given I don't really want to be losing my Aguero/Pogba/Rashford/Son/Jimenez/entire defence

        It's different for everyone.
        FH 31 good for you.
        Someone like me having
Jota,Kiko, kamara, awb + 1.3m itb can replace all of them with gw 31 players gradually & field 8-9 players which is fine imo.
Using FH in dgw is more enticing idea for me

That's a fair point - I guess it all depends on your current team. Another benefit of bringing in the likes of LEI, WHU, BOU and BUR is that they have decent fixtures in the build up to GW31 blanks, and then you only need to keep them for GW33 after (when some still have good fixtures and other premium players will likely blank again) before WCing in 34.

Looking to bring in at most 4x Liverpool, Burnley, Leicester & Bournemouth players by GW30 for BGW31, that I would still want through DGW32 & BGW33.
    Liverpool (VVD, TAA, Mane, Firmino)
    Burnley (Heaton, McNeil)
    Bournemouth (Boruc, King, Brooks*, Wilson*)
    Leicester (Pereira, Chilwell)

leaving 7-8 players in DGW31, if holding on to Aguero, Sterling, Pogba/ Son, Rashford, Kolasinac, Doherty & AWB

        Potential SGW32 (* on bench):
        Robertson, Salah (TOT)
        Barnes, McNeil* (WOL)
        Boruc*, Brooks* (lei)
        Pereira* (BOU)

          FH in DGW32 will leave 7 - 8 BGW33 players:
          Robertson, Salah (sou)
          Barnes, McNeil (bou)
          Boruc, Brooks (BUR)
          Pereira (hud)

            • 8 Years
            5 years, 2 months ago

            Current strategy looks like:
            BGW 31 - 7/8 players
DGW 32 - 11 DGW players using Free Hit
            BGW 33 - 7/8 players
            DGW 34 - 8 DGW + 7 SGW players using Bench Boost
