FFS Cup

The latest FFS Cup fixtures and results

The third round of our latest FFS Cup took place in Blank Gameweek 31.

There were 128 Fantasy managers remaining in our tournament before Saturday’s deadline but only two were former FFS Cup winners.

One of those site users, donnellyc, bowed out after a narrow 35-34 loss to TwiggsJameson.

Our other former champion, 2EyedTurk, lives to fight another day after a 32-28 win over Homer21.

The highest-ranked team in the round-of-128, Deporhostia, exited the competition after being pipped 42-43 by space.

That means we have only one manager remaining who sits inside the top 1,000: HBCAMPBELL, who has an overall rank of 931 after Gameweek 31.

Rotation/s Alter Ego and G-Whizz both entered the top 10k this weekend and our two mods both progressed to the last 64 after comfortable victories.

There was one draw in the third round: rselfy123 squeaking past Dream_team_legend due to a superior overall rank.

Lal Toofan beat Taking the Mkhitaryan 39-32 and is now just ten places behind his Gameweek 31 opponent in the overall FPL rankings.

Vulken is the Fantasy manager with the lowest OR (1,723,241) who still remains in the competition.

The third round results were as follows:

Can anybody think of a logical reason why City v Cardiff hasn't been confirmed for this GW yet ? It been known for weeks that GW32 was the only blank midweek date that it could be played. The longer this goes on the more I am thinking that Brighton v Cardiff will be in DGW32, with City v Cardiff and Brighton v Chelsea squeezed in somewhere else in the season.

But if Brighton v Cardiff is GW32, why is there a logical reason that hasn't been confirmed yet either? 😛

Brighton and Cardiff both had two DGW options for that fixture to be play in up to Sunday night.

      Probably TV schedule.
I think broadcasters will want to show the fancy new Spurs stadium, so maybe they're just debating whether it's a Tuesday game, or a Wednesday game?

but they have known that that was I distinct possibility for weeks, so provisional arrangements could have been made, just like they obviously were for the Spurs/Palace game.

Spurs v Palace has been confirmed because of the new stadium/ticketing issues.
Obviously they had to plan in advance for that as it would clash with playing the cup games at Wembley.

    Couple of questions.

Those of us using FH are there any single gw players in your thoughts or a full 11 dgwers??

Secondly with a full 11 dgw squad and a sensible capt choice do you think it can outscore a TC Sterling for example??

Most of my rivals FH last wk and presumably will tc a city player this wk as most of them will revert back to at least double City attack before the FH was used.

11 x DGW, and that will comfortably outscore TC’ers

No way I’m using a single gameweeker if fixtures are laid out as we expect.

The DGW includes some good teams with good fixtures and no single gameweeker stands out as essential.

Some may argue Mane. However he uses a lot of budget and they play spurs. Just don’t see the appeal

I think it is funny suddenly the majority have copped on that Mane is a better choice than Salah.
They were risk adverse with Salah first now they are risk adverse with Mane - even though he is playing spurs - and on a free hit/WC the funds can be used elsewhere with potentially better fixtures.

I've had Mane pretty much the whole season over Salah and largely been happy about it - which is why he's the one SGW player I'm reluctant to free hit out. Even though it's Spurs, he's on a red hot streak, and I've been burned in past seasons by obsessing over DGW players.

it is so so rare for a player to play / perform in two closely laid out games. They tend to only do well in one and are rested or dont turn up in the second. Teams are fatigued now.

I won't be that sad if City don't get their double this gw.

But Chelsea not getting a dgw in 32 would be detrimental to my FH plan as I don't intend to keep any Chelsea players after this gw.

    Hopefully both gets their dgw's.

There seems to be abandonment of the chelsea defence on the price rises -

    I just noticed that
    Azpilicueta is on -73
    rudiger on -6.6.
    Luiz on -52.3

Kepa seems to be the odd one out on + 15.8

Azpilicueta I can understand because he is a bit pricey but the luiz and rudiger ones baffle me.

You're right about Azpi and Rudiger, though. And you just helped me with this warning. Bought Azpi yesterday on my FH. Sold him now, hoping he drops. Every 0.1M counts on a FH or WC

      So, thanks!

No bother. I assume there would be people like me trying to be clever getting the more expensive Azpi , only to lose .1 on him and be cursing it on a FH/WC/bench boost later on.

Spurs have announced ticket sales for the Brighton game to be available to members on April 8th, although the date of the game is still TBD. Being as though they normally set these dates for 2 weeks in advance of the actual fixture we can be pretty sure the game will be in GW35. This will neither surprise nor shock anyone as its where we thought they'd put it anyway.

Had Etheridge as a sub for Boruc for a few GWs now. The DGW34 finally has me wanting to play him. Only other Brighton asset I'll bother myself with getting is Duffy, simply because Pereira + Chilwell have been two too many Leicester defenders in my team for ages, and Duffy's DGW is a perfect excuse to finally let one go for -4

I have this FH team with Ali in it

      Ederson
      Luiz-lindelof-Azplicueta
      Alli-sterling-Pogba-Hazard
      Batshuayi-Aguero-Rashford

I think Alli has a good chance of being involved in any Kane goals

      Yup:

      Ederson
      Luiz . Azpi . Doherty
      Son . Hazard . Sterling . Pogba
      Rashford . Aguero . Jimenez

Can't convince myself on a balanced team with Kane, Hazard, Sterling and Kun. So it's Kane I find myself having to go without. Son's actually worth 11M on his day. I guess that's gonna be my punt this GW

JWP and Valery/Bednarek would have been a massive help to many of us I'm sure.
...and there is really no one in JWP price range I'd want with a DGW.

For me the best city options are aguero-sterling-ederson - no room for Sane gw32.

Given their record this season, only Lindelof is appropriately priced for them, and he's possibly due to miss games due to wife giving birth so I'm avoiding.

Bernardo Silva played Fulham & Cardiff back to back in GWs 5 & 6. He played 180 minutes and scored 17 points.

He hasn't been a great FPL asset, but keep in mind the quality of the opposition for this DGW32. A City defender can get clean sheets, but no matter how much they dominate the game it's just a clean sheet. However, if they absolutely destroy their 2 opponents then you may wish you had more than just Sterling and Aguero, who will both be 100% template. In a way, Bilva or Dilva could be an interesting differential.
