With a couple of assists to his name in the past seven Gameweeks, Gareth Bale is slowly slipping in the estimations of Fantasy managers. The Tottenham midfielder has dropped in price of late, down from 9.7 to 9.5 as the attacking returns all but dry up.

Perhaps it’s the pressure of the chase for third that has affected his performances. Possibly it’s been an unkind run of fixtures that have curtailed his opportunities – Harry Redknapp’s side have fallen behind Arsenal after facing (liv, NEW, ars, MUN, eve, STK, che) since Gameweek 24, in a difficult run that has produced a single victory. Even then, though, in that 5-0 win over Newcastle, Bale picked up no more than 3 points for his Fantasy owners, as Emmanuel Adebayor stole the show with a 21 point haul against the Magpies.

In today’s Members article, we take a look at our own ICT Index and analyse the Opta stats in order to ascertain just whether Bale has suffered a downturn in performance, ahead of an obliging run of fixtures for the north London outfit:

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

I like Walcott at the moment, Arsenal seem to have found their form. Spurs haven't been great last few weeks but Bale is always dangerous. Either would be a good move IMO.

Why have you decided to dump Silva now? I'm wondering whether its time to do the same myself!

Get Bale as fast as possible. His last game showed glimpses of his old form. And VDV seems to be trying harder than ever in linkage, only thing preventing them from more assists last match was from poor finishing in the final third.

right now it's on RvP, but throughout this week it has been on all of those bar Bale.

I think given that my rivals don't own Clint I won't put it on him as whatever he gets my rivals won't. Both QPR and Rovers are much better at home than away, but it's RvP and Rooney it makes no odds to them.

In my eyes the rest of the season falls down to GW34 and 36. You need enough players for 34 but want a squad of DGWs for 36.

My team atm is as follows:

    Mingolet Krul
    Evans BAE Enrique Vermaelen Williamson
    Bale Young Siggy Mclean Walcott
    Yakubu RVP Rooney.

If I resist the temptation to get Papiss early I'll have the following for GW 34

    Mingolet
    Evans Vermaelen ____
    Young Siggy Mclean Walcott
    Rooney RVP Yakubu

(will replace williamson and double up on a defender that weekend - maybe sagna).

GW 35 bring in Miyachi for his #1 of 2 DGWs

Then in GW 36 I will aim to have

    Krul
    Enrique Cahill BAE
    Bale Mata Miyachi ________ (?)
    Cisse RVP _______ (?)

Means that between now and GW 36 I do the following
    Williamson > Sagna
    Evans > Cahill
    Mclean > Miyachi
    Yakubu > Cisse
    Young > Mata
    Rooney > ?

6 weeks, 6 transfers - the question is do you think this is a viable strategy and which weeks do I bring in which players so they add value for GWs 32 33 34 35 and 36?

    Thoughts?

    Skrtel, Evans, Caulker, Simpson, Shotton

Have a free transfer with 2.4 in the bank and want to be able to field a good 3 this week. I'll have a transfer to do another defensive swap after.

Originally thought Shotton > BAE. But i've been advised to swap Skrtel for Baines and double up on Simpson/Krul.

Dortmund 2-0 up on 71 mins until Stuttgart pull one back.

I look back on Bet365 in horror to see they have scored in the 77th and 79th minute to go 3-2 up.

Hummels makes it 3-3 on 82.

And Dortmund have just scored in the 87th to go 4-3 up!

This game is playing with my emotions.

Ah Sir Paulos, i do believe there is an error in the article; "attacking returns all but dry up," suggests the last thing Bale's attacking returns are doing is drying up. I believe it should read "attacking returns all drying up." However, maybe I'm just being picky :L

just a wee note to everyone. RvP's last 2 scores were 5 and 2. The last time he got a 5 and a 2 in succession, he went and got 23 the next week.

This could all change but I currently have the (c) on RVP with Dempsey (vc), who is everyone else going for?

I actually had it on Rooney (c) RVP (vc), now I don't even have Rooney (vc) 😆

Haven't captained Robin in the last 2 gwks so i'll give him a chance..

I would love him for the DGW but can't see him playing both games with the FA Cup games to play too 🙁

Interesting that Bale's threat index has increased over the last 7 gameweeks.

In that period he has 8 shots on target out of 20 goal attempts (40%) compared to 27 out of 56 (48%) in the preceding 23 gameweeks.

That indicates a worsening goal threat to me but that's probably down to how the threat index is calculated.

Wouldn't you rather your player have more shots per game and have a slightly lower on target percentage? That's why threat index has increased.

It depends. More shots off target means -PPI.

And more shots on target hasn't helped Bale score more points. I would rather he didn't flash at long range shots he has no hope of scoring from and focused more on getting into positions he has more chance of scoring. So actually no, I'm not sure I would prefer more shots per game if more of them are off target.
