With a couple of assists to his name in the past seven Gameweeks, Gareth Bale is slowly slipping in the estimations of Fantasy managers. The Tottenham midfielder has dropped in price of late, down from 9.7 to 9.5 as the attacking returns all but dry up.

Perhaps it’s the pressure of the chase for third that has affected his performances. Possibly it’s been an unkind run of fixtures that have curtailed his opportunities – Harry Redknapp’s side have fallen behind Arsenal after facing (liv, NEW, ars, MUN, eve, STK, che) since Gameweek 24, in a difficult run that has produced a single victory. Even then, though, in that 5-0 win over Newcastle, Bale picked up no more than 3 points for his Fantasy owners, as Emmanuel Adebayor stole the show with a 21 point haul against the Magpies.

In today’s Members article, we take a look at our own ICT Index and analyse the Opta stats in order to ascertain just whether Bale has suffered a downturn in performance, ahead of an obliging run of fixtures for the north London outfit:

        You need it with Downing in your team. Call the councillor.

        Alternatively, bench for Yak or even better, sell him.

        Not even Stewart Downing's FPL team has Stewart Downing in it.

    I’m trying to decide when to play my wild card. I’m chasing in a mini league and was wondering if I should try and freshen up my team for the remaining game weeks or try to hit the jackpot with GW36 and all it’s DGW fixtures?
    Team is as follows
    Krul – Mignolet
    Simpson – JEvans – Enrique – Shotton – Kelly (Fulham)
    Buszaki – Valencia – Sess – Walcott – Bale
    RVP – Rooney – Papiss Cisse

    If I don’t use my WC I’m thinking about Enrique -> Gary Cahill and Sess -> Dempsey and captaining him, since nobody I’m chasing has him.

    So should I do those two substitutions and save my WC for later or make more whole sale changes? Any pointers appreciated!

      He's definitely a good option, especially for the third striker slot if you can afford him (assuming you have Rooney and RVP).

      Me too, so think I will do the same over Rooney.

      I have a v slim lead in my league and going for Dempsey just feels too risky with Fulham's form latety.

      Bale the other option for me.

    The scout keeps picking The Ox to start but he hasn't started the last couple of games. I'm debating with myself as to whether I should ditch him now, or wait and see if he starts against QPR?

    If he starts he could have a big game with walcott, RVP & co. But is it a gamble I should take?

    Any thoughts which one from Enrique, Simpson or R Taylor to choose? Both teams seem to have plenty of injuries in defense.

    Defence is:

          I would never play Enrique over Taiwo this week. Taiwo is amongst the best attacking defenders in EPL.

      I dont expect Verm or BAE to score more than the standard 6 points for a clean sheet and playing 90 min... So if you take a hit of 4 you will gain only 2 points...

      Decide if it is worth it...
