How a tactical change affects Salah’s Wildcard credentials

Liverpool’s formation change earlier this season holds the key to whether Mohamed Salah (£13.2m) deserves a place in Wildcard squads for Double Gameweek 34.

After going six Premier League matches without a goal, the Egyptian finally found the net against Southampton in Blank Gameweek 33 – just in time to cause a dilemma for managers overhauling their teams.

Judging by the relief he showed at St Mary’s on Friday night, there is a case to be made that Salah could now return to his incredible points-scoring form from earlier in the campaign.

However, we have uncovered a few tactical factors that could have a bigger impact on his chances of impressing between Gameweek 34 and the end of the season.

    No WC or FH left.
    BB and TC still left.

    Lloris / Boruc
    Robertson / Doherty / Azpi / Pereira / AWB
    Salah / Mane / Hazard / Richarlison / Brooks
    Vardy / Jimenez / Barnes

    2 FT
    0,1£ ITB

    A) AWB & Hazard --> Duffy & Eriksen(c)
    B) AWB, Boruc & Hazard --> Duffy, Ryan & Eriksen(c) (play BB)
    C) Barnes & Salah --> Kane(c) & 6,4£ mid (play TC)
    D) Other?

      I think you need Sterling or Kun as well.
      Option A. Seems fine from above.

    I am on a wild card and have done a first draft for now without any City players because of rotation and hard fixtures in the DGW.

    I want to have som cash free so i can change Hazard to Salah/Sterling whenever i want with just 1FT. I also probably gonna switch Morrison for Kolasnic next GW.

    Ryan, Foster

    VVD, AWB, Doherty, Duffy, Morrison

    Mane, Hazard, Son, Carrasca, Jota

    Kane, Jimenez, Lacazette

    2,6 itb

    Does this look good or is it any obvious improvements i can do with this team? Good to know is that i bought, VVD, AWB, Doherty when their prizes were at the lowest.

      I understands your reasons for no City players but ultimately feel it maybe a mistake

    I wouldn't say Salah plays in an 'attacking midfield' position. He's one of Liverpool's front three, albeit in a wide position.
