Lacazette and Kolasinac benched as Deulofeu absent

A number of Fantasy Premier League options have missed out on places in the starting line-ups of Watford vs Arsenal.

Alexandre Lacazette (£9.4m) has been named on the bench with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£10.9m) leading the line on his own.

Alex Iwobi (£5.4m), Aaron Ramsey (£7.1m) and Henrikh Mkhitaryan (£6.7m) are the attacking midfielders behind him.

Also among the substitutes for Arsenal is Sead Kolasinac (£5.0m), with Nacho Monreal (£5.4m) handed the left-back berth.

Making his first start of the season at centre-back is Konstantinos Mavropanos (£4.7m).

Whether he will be able to help the Gunners to a first Premier League clean sheet on the road in 2018/19 remains to be seen.

Troy Deeney (£5.9m) might fancy his chances against the inexperienced defender, as he makes his 12th start in Watford’s last 13 league matches.

However, he is not joined by Gerard Deulofeu (£5.6m) in the side, the Spanish midfielder entirely as he deals with an ankle problem picked up in the FA Cup final.

Andre Gray (£5.9m) comes in first start since Gameweek 30.

Watford XI: Foster; Janmaat, Kabasele, Cathcart, Masina; Kiko Femenía, Capoue, Doucouré; Hughes; Deeney, Gray.

Arsenal XI: Leno; Mustafi, Koscielny, Mavropanos, Monreal; Torreira, Xhaka; Mkhitaryan, Ramsey, Iwobi; Aubameyang.

The average top 10k team will get an additional 1.75 points from the bench, and the average team overall 3.71 points, according to Live FPL.

But some unlucky managers might get Deeney instead.

Ings has new/wat, BOU, whu, HUD

He's has his injury issues this season but is a fox in the box.

Apart from Newcastle all those teams are likely to provide him with chances.

At 5.4 provides plenty of options to upgrade for instance:
    GW35 Vardy > Ings
    GW36 Son & Robertson > Salah & TAA

    Foster,
    *TTA , Doherty, Duffy,
    Sterling, Mane, *Salah, Jota,
    *Ings, Agüero, Jiménez
    Ryan, Højbjerg, Mariappa, Bednarek

    or improve defence
    GW35 Vardy > Ings
    GW36 Ryan > Allison & Mariappa > Laporte

    *Allison,
    Robertson, Doherty, *Laporte,
    Sterling, Mane, Son, Jota,
    *Ings, Agüero, Jiménez,
    Foster, Højbjerg, Duffy, Bednarek

    Any thoughts most appreciated

I've opted for attacking points rather than defensive points this stage of the season.

This and because I accidentally WC'd instead of FT so my squad is really stuffed so not a lot of luxuries at the moment and only so many -4s I can bear.

    Would appreciate some thoughts here.

Would you drop anyone to bring Salah/Kun/Sterling back in? Or just shift Luiz on for a DGW player?

5.2 ITB and pretty set on BB this week:

    Lloris
    Robbo Luiz Doherty
    Eriksen Mane Son Pogba
    Vardy Jiminez Wilson

    Boruc JWP Bednarek Duffy

yeah feel like if he plays that's a solid chance at 6 points from my backup goalie.

At this stage of the season id prefer not use a transfer on a goalie upgrade. Feel like Southampton have decent fixtures so JWP and Bednarek a good chance of some returns.

Basically comes down to do I hold Luiz vs Burnley or opt for another DGW defender? Or do I move on one of Eriksen/Son/Pogba for Salah/Sterling...or Vardy for Kun/Auba.

I'm taking that risk too....after his last surprise inclusion and CS (which I painfully had on the bench), not sure why he wouldn't take a recently shaky Bego's place.

      I'd go Pogba to Salah

Pogba faces two good defences in GW35, and played his deepest role so far this season in the WH game. Two penalties in a CDM role don't make him Milivojevic. That was his source of points under Mou and we rightly avoided

I wouldn't sell any Chelsea asset for this week, except the injured Rudiger. Vardy vs West Ham is heavenly. Only possible problem is Duffy, but his 0 - 3 points range for the entire GW35 shouldn't affect your BB too badly

For f'ks sake... I thought the Knockaert red was absolute worst case scenario. Hazard goes on to miss two chances he should have buried, Chelsea lose, Arsenal win a game they definitely should have dropped points in, and Deeney gets a red as well. Absolute worst case for fantasy and real life. Thank god Tiger won the masters at least.

    Gunn
    Robertson . Doherty . Trippier
    Salah . Mane . Son . Hazard . JWP
    Vardy . Jimenez (TC)

    Boruc . Yedlin . Barnes . Duffy

Did Rondon + Etheridge to Jimenez + Gunn for -4 in GW35. Didn't have a wildcard, TC only chip left. 0.1M ITB

Nothing worth further hits, right? Trippier and JWP (gonna pretend I don't own Duffy, tbh) feel like mistakes gotten over the past few GWs to set up for this... But, what can I do? 🙁

Free Hit in GW35, Bench Boost in GW36 for me.
Depends when the fixtures are most favourable for the players in your particular squad (and perhaps also when they are least likely to be rotated).

Got Trippier for GW34, knowing the risks. Had Doherty first on my bench to come in if he missed... Ouch

Point is, if you're going Spurs, have a good sub. Closest to safety is Vert though

    what to do here?

obviously deeney has to go, but straight swap to rubbish striker, or deeney + jota out moura + rubbish striker in, rash plus rubbish mid? stuck for ideas without hits....also valery issue, save bb?

Duffy to Yoshida. Bench Ryan, Dunk, Deeney and Valery

3-5-2, choose a captain tonight and take a break from the game until team news time

      We all need it...

    Duffy --> TAA
    Doucoure --> Hojbjerg
    Deeney --> Wilson
    -8

    Is this madness?

Surely, there must be a route that doesn't involve selling Doucoure?

I agree that Deeney and Duffy have to go

      1. MillsAU

        4 years, 11 months ago

For both to go it's a -4. No great options to trade Duffy to without Deeney becoming Long or Success.

        Alternative...

        GW35
        No Trades
        Bench Ryan, Duffy, Bennett, Deeney
        TC Jimenez...

        GW36
        Duffy to TAA
        Doucoure to Hojbjerg

        GW37
        Aguero to Lukaku
        Deeney to Rashford

BB37 Ryan (ars), Valery (whu), Bennett (FUL), Hojbjerg (whu).

    Foster
    Robo Doh Kolas
    KDB Martial Moura Jota Son
    Jiminez (TC) Vardy Lukaku
    (Lloris, Martial, Duffy, Val)

Most likely Lukaku/Vardy, Martial to Zaha, Mane. Start Mane, bench Zaha and BB 37. Taking a break til Friday unless major CL news and I'm struggling. GL lads, may give some advice but cba to annoy others. Nighttt

If people think Deeney->Ings is the answer, just be careful. Danny has JUST recovered from a hamstring njury, and Ralph has said that one of the reasons that may have been a factor why he relapsed back to the treatment table was because he was played too frequently/too quickly, and the put a lot of strain on his hamstring.
Add to the fact that we are less likely to be relegated in comparioson to the likes if Cardiff and Brighton, and hard to imagine Ralph will risk his top scorer by playing him in BOTH DGW games.

They just lost 5-0 home as well. They won't get a CS vs Newcastle at home either imo.

Ryan got two games to rack up save points and Duffy got two games to score a goal even if no CS + the prospect of 2x2 points.
