It looks like Fantasy Premier League managers will have the opportunity to use a differential captain for green arrows in Double Gameweek 35.

Just as was the case in the previous two Gameweeks, there is no one standout candidate for this round of fixtures, which significantly reduces the risk of going against the grain.

In fact, such is the nature of the schedule over the next few days that even a handful of single Gameweek options can make a strong case for the armband.

As usual, we’re here to analyse each player to help you find the best captain…

As this article uses Opta data, the main bulk is only accessible to Fantasy Football Scout members.

Captain Poll

Once again, there is no clear and obvious favourite in the Fantasy Football Scout captain poll. Currently in the lead is Wolves striker Raúl Jiménez (£6.9m) but he has just 26.35% of the vote at the time of writing. He is certainly not a bad choice with five goal involvements in as many Premier League outings. Double Gameweek 35 has probably been the kindest on Wolves, who have two favourable fixtures coming up. At first, they host Brighton, who seem to have sleepwalked into the thick of the relegation battle, before Arsenal come to Molineux. The Gunners have just one clean sheet on the road this season, while Wolves, and Jiménez in particular, tend to do better against the bigger clubs.

Soaring into second place after an impressive display in the Champions League midweek is Raheem Sterling (£11.5m). He has five goals in his last four league matches and also has two fixtures in Double Gameweek 35. They pit Manchester City against Spurs (home) and Manchester United (away).

Such is the support for the defending champions despite difficult fixtures, that Sergio Aguero (£11.7m) is currently third in the captain poll. His one goal since Gameweek 28 is not of huge concern to the voters as he has 14.87% backing at the time of writing.

Son Heung-min (£8.8m) heads up a very tightly-packed contest to be the best of the rest for Double Gameweek 35. His support of 5.95% is only just a little more than Mohamed Salah (£13.2m) on 5.84%. While the Spurs man has two fixtures, against Manchester City (away) and Brighton (home), this is where we see how many managers are concentrating on single Gameweek players.

Salah and his Liverpool colleagues travel to Cardiff, who have conceded at least two goals in every match played against top-six sides this season. The Bluebirds shipped four when they went to Anfield in Gameweek 10, with Salah producing a goal and two assists. Furthermore, the Egyptian looks like he could be back to his best after his spectacular strike against Chelsea on Sunday ensured he had goals in back-to-back league games since Gameweek 23. Sadio Mané (£10.1m) is also in the top 10 with 3.55% support.

Arsenal’s Double Gameweek fixtures aren’t too bad as they face Crystal Palace (home) and Wolves (away). However, uncertainty over Unai Emery’s team selection is probably why none of their options backed by more than 4.41% in the captain poll. That honour falls to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£10.9m), who has a backed by just a few more than colleague Alexandre Lacazette (£9.4m) on 2.77%.

Kevin de Bruyne (£9.7m), Eden Hazard (£11.0m), Andre Gray (£5.9m), Gerard Deulofeu (£5.6m), Christian Eriksen (£9.3m) and Lucas Moura (£6.8m) are the only other options on 1% or more.

    Which option?

    A) Long (max 4.9) for the dgw (Salah in for free next week)

    B) FWD up to 8.7m for dgw e.g..Wilson/ Rashford (-4 to get in Salah next week)

      A - Long Good Friday

Hmm, not too sure the pricier SGW Fwds will outscore the cheapest ones by 4 (Rash is DGW but poor fixtures)

I’d go Long out the two but I’d consider Issac Success instead as like Watford fixtures and reckon he has a better chance of starting a game.

Long came off the bench to score and him score three games in a row would be a sign of the apocalypse!

    Better pairing? On BB
    A. Llorente and Kdb
    B. Bilva and Rashford

Trying to think long term too. Would want Rashford in 37-38 and A makes that hard, but A is better short term and Llorente would not always be needed.

    Bottomed

    Morning lads

    What move should I make?

    A) Vardy, Eriksen -> Llorente, Sterling (-4)
    B) Vardy, Eriksen, Camarasa -> Sterling, Moura, Long (-8)
    C) Camarasa -> Hojbjerg
    D) Vardy -> Wilson

Llorente for me, plays Brighton for a top club and only £5.1

If I was bench boosting he’d be on my team, hell if I was playing two forwards I’d be him and Jimi but I already have Jimi and a 451 formation

If you think you'll get more than 2 points (and it could easily be fewer) out of dunk or Duffy I don't know what to tell you. Surely if you can find a Watford player who will play both (or just Huddersfield), a Soton player or a wolves player you can easily recover any -4.

Brighton are also not used to playing this many games in such a short period. Mental and physical errors incoming.

This community is often very anti hit but this really seems like a safe option. And you can save money for a move next week with most of those moves.

    What am I missing?

nearly a 25% chance of a CS against Wolves and either one of them could score from a corner - I'm still tempted to move for Masina, but they are hardly coming off a load of clean sheets themselves

It's funny, lots of contrasting opinions since so many like jimenez as captain this week.

Can I ask where the 25% is from?

        I like masina too

clean sheet odds (bookies), sounds about right to me too. Yeah, I like the idea of covering any Foster clean sheet (don't have) and he does have attacking threat

I have 3 Brighton and 3 wolves. I’m removing just one and it’s probably Duffy despite his goal threat as it saves money for down the line.

Thing is, I don’t wanna spend points to remove them all. One Brighton CS vs wolves and I’d be destroyed again by Brighton vs my 3 wolves boys. Dunno if I can handle that.

I see it as a cheeky hedge, or at least it makes me feel better about it

      1. SADIO SANÉ
        • 10 Years
        6 years, 7 months ago

the hedge reason is the other thing making me want to keep tbh, imagine the unlikely scenario he gets 2 CSs - could outscore Son, Moura, Jota & Jimenez 😀

        1. Richd
          • 13 Years
          6 years, 7 months ago

I hadn’t even considered the spurs game. Yeah. 3 spurs and wolves for me so.. it would make up for it in some way!

Incoming 1-0 losses in the 90th min with goals from Coady and Dembele

          1. VanDijksToWatchOutFor
            • 7 Years

            That would be classic Brighton.

        2. VanDijksToWatchOutFor
          • 7 Years
          6 years, 7 months ago

I guess the hedge is a fair point. But don't Brighton need to win a game? And hence attack?

      2. VanDijksToWatchOutFor
        • 7 Years
        6 years, 7 months ago

As above, I am doubtful that Duffy treats us to a goal. They conceded two to Cardiff, I'm sure wolves will be licking their lips

    5. TheDragon
      • 7 Years
      6 years, 7 months ago

Look at the stats - their clean sheet odds aren’t much worse than saints this week and Watford is rotation nightmare.

Brighton are fighting for survival and maybe the Cardiff loss will shock them.

Clearly they could score almost nothing but do we really think saints defenders score 4+ points more? I don’t think it’s as clear cut - tricky

      1. VanDijksToWatchOutFor
        • 7 Years
        6 years, 7 months ago

Is the Watford rotation a little overblown? Their last double they had a semi coming straight after. Not the case here. Cathcart (and masina?) look pretty safe

    Morning all!

With my BB team, struggling a bit on the right pick for Captain. I’m currently at 80k OR and chasing to get back up to top 50k. Also chasing in my cash ML. Have TC to prob play next week

    A) Kun
    B) Jimi

    E) Eriksen

Re ownership, i think Kun is in all dead ships. That is affecting the %.

Most of 20% Raz owners should be playing imo. So he can be a rank killer too which people miss i think.

Maybe it's his usual swagger. 😀

He is safest © pick though. Will get 60/70 minutes each match.
My personal preference order this gw is
              Raz/Jimenez/Kun.

Hi all in desperate need if help so I can enjoy my easter break!
    What would you do:

50 points off the lead and everyone above me has played their TC chip.
Heres my team - should I BB or TC?
    Lloris (ryan)
Alexander Arnold, Doherty, Duffy, Valery , AWB,
Mane, Eriksson, Son, Sterling (on captain),
    Jiminez, King, Vardy.

If i TC will be on sterling (appears a differential in my mini league)

If I BB will take a -4 and
    A) transfer Ryan to Foster and Duffy to Kiko
    B) transfer vardy to lacazette, duffy to kiko

Please appreciate any advice or tips!
TC or BB or amy other suggestions! Thanks

      I’d TC
You can bench Ryan, AWB and Duffy or Valery, (+ whoever your 5th mid is) and BB next week using 2fts so no hits necessary

If you are chasing I’d go for that Raz could get you a big chunk of that 50pts back

Mane or Eriksen? Already doing Kane to Llorente which frees up cash for one of those two.

my 1st plan is BB on this week
but due to the disaster week 34 and Deeney out
    >> Should i continue to BB? Mane

    Current line-up

    Foster Ryan
    Doherty Valery Laporte Duffy Dunk
    Son Eriksen Jota JWP Mane
    Aguero Jiminez-C Deeney**

    itb 8.0

i can do direct transfer Deeney > Firmino with 4 hit

Llorente or Ings? Loved the look of Ings the other week, looked very creative and always got a goal in him.

Big Fernando I’m just not sure will get 180 mins?

    BB’ing:
Camarasa and Deeney to Mane and Gray for -4?

I’m really not convinced about Gray playing based on data we’ve seen about his starts. Great fixtures though.

I was also on Deeney but going Llorente.

Loved the comparison people made on the scoutcast to Deeney to Gray being like people who did Richarlison to Walcott!

I see. It is Llorente v Gray for me. But looking at fixtures made me swing towards Gray.

Late changes and hits rarely work well but...

    A) Play Mendy
    B) Hit a fodder FWD out for Llorente and play
