Pogba and Rashford start in United’s Double Gameweek 35 opener

Everton v Manchester United is the first of three Premier League matches to take place on Sunday afternoon. Kick-off at Goodison Park is at 13:30 BST.

There were few shocks upon the release of the two teamsheets, with Ashley Young and Jesse Lingard demoted to the United bench after less-than-impressive performances against Barcelona in midweek.

Paul Pogba starts his 17th Premier League match in a row under Ole Gunnar Solksjaer, with Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Romelu Lukaku forming the visitors’ front three.

We’ll likely see one of Victor Lindelof or Phil Jones at full-back again given that Young is among the substitutes and Luke Shaw is suspended.

Alexis Sanchez is also on the bench for the Red Devils.

Everton’s two changes were widely expected, with Michael Keane returning at centre-half in place of Phil Jagielka and the fit-again Morgan Schneiderlin stepping in for the suspended Andre Gomes in midfield.

Richarlison, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Bernard will once again be providing support for Dominic Calvert-Lewin in attack.

Manchester United are without a clean sheet since Gameweek 27, while Everton have five in that time. Manchester City are the only Premier League side to have registered more shut-outs than the Toffees this calendar year.

United were 2-1 winners in the reverse fixture of today’s match.

Pogba bagged a goal and assist but also saw a penalty saved by Jordan Pickford, who walked away with three bonus points despite conceding on two occasions.

Richarlison and Sigurdsson combined for Everton’s goal that day and those two FPL midfielders, who were each sold by over 100,000 managers in the run-up to Gameweek 35, have 30 attacking returns between them in 2018/19.

Everton XI (4-2-3-1): Pickford, Coleman, Keane, Zouma, Digne, Schneiderlin, Gueye, Sigurdsson, Bernard, Richarlison, Calvert-Lewin.

Manchester United XI (4-3-3): De Gea, Lindelof, Smalling, Jones, Dalot, Matic, Fred, Pogba, Rashford, Lukaku, Martial.

I think United need to blow it up and start again. Get rid of a lot of those players and focus on using some of the younger lads to build for the future (Rashford, Dalot, Lindelof, McTominay, maybe these guys). There aren't a lot of players I'd really want to keep around other than de Gea to be honest.

The thing about Ole is he's not going to be disheartened and give it a halfhearted approach after this game. He's going to go again and try to fix the wheels of the bus and try to hold it together. He's going to stay on the wheel until the f***ing wheels fall off, like the captain of the titanic. Cant see him hooding his hands uo and giving up.

I still say he *probably* is the righr man. Sure, he come with faults, but he will always give 100% for United. Problems lie further inside united than him; player power, salary inequality etc.

Sacking him will only feed the player power issue in United. Sacking Mou and keeping Pogba, while for footballing reason was the right call, was a double edged sword as it sent oit the wrong message. Players are superior to the manager.

This. I don't think he was the right man for the job but he steadied the ship initially and they have to back him now that he's been made permanent.

As it should. Despite injures/suspensions, this is Man United. You cannot be losing 4-0, Ole couldn't have improved the XI he put out. Players should be ashamed.

The more I look at that Utd team the more I see how poorly Ed Woodward spends money.

Lukaku, Fred, Pogba, Lindelof, Martial... To an extent Matic (purely on age)

Lot of questions should be raised.

Lindelof is alright. Kaku was banging them jn for Everton, understandable signing. The rest are not United class imo.

Only players who are safe in the XI is DeGea, Lindelof, Shaw, Dalot, Rashford, maybe McTominay .Rest need to be asked question, how much are they dedicated to the badge.

Kaku has been called out for being a troll on he for years... How can we work out he's poor but Man Utd can't work it out?

He's not bad, he just isn't a good player, poor first touch, poor decision making. He's a flat track bully that doesn't really show up against good opposition, the problem is they looked at his goalscoring record and thought that meant he was a good player.

I know the gameweek is not over yet, but I love tinkering.

GW36: Which two defenders would you bench out of the following bunch?

    A) Kola (lei)
    B) Doherty (wat)
    C) Duffy (NEW)
    D) Valery (SOU)

I guess Valery is an obvious pick if he is benched next game as well. But if it was just a rest I am then considering A and B.
