The Dugout Discussion opens today for two Premier League games involving some of it’s most enjoyable teams to watch. Third-place chasing Spurs take on the exciting Swansea City after Newcastle host Liverpool, with the former fighting for European football.

The team news from the game at The Sports Direct Arena is in, and the sides line-up as follows…

Newcastle XI: Krul, Simpson, Williamson, Perch, Gutierrez, Guthrie, Tiote, Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Cisse, Ba.

Liverpool XI: Reina, Flanagan, Carragher, Skrtel, Jose Enrique, Shelvey, Spearing, Gerrard, Suarez, Carroll, Bellamy.

Alan Pardew is without the injured Fabricio Coloccini, which partners James Perch with Mike Williamson in central defence and puts Jonas Gutierrez in the left-back berth. It’s the same attacking mentality that served them so well at West Brom.

Liverpool also name an attacking side, knowing that a win here is essential if they want to overhaul the Magpies. Andy Carroll returns to his former stomping ground and starts alongside Luis Suarez.

    My hesitance to double up on Newcastle defenders has cost me 6 points... but I'm happy with another CS...

    I counted 3 saves for Krul, I'm a bit peeved that he didn't get the extra point... are the saves reviewed as well as the assists?

    By GW34 I was planning on selling Shotton for a 4m playing defender, keeping Skrtel for the DGW. Now I'm considering selling Skrtel for my favourite Man City defender. If only he was 1st choice.

    I'm a fan of Liverpool, but Kenny is like AVB... a right miserable sod. I don't recollect either smiling, ever!

    Zero point interviewing him. He mumbles, answers back to the interviewer, sulks, dips his head... pointless. Just chat to the oppositon manager and save time.

    This is what you get for listening to the crowd. All I need now is for Bale to go nuts and my decision to not do Surman & Suarez -> Bale & P Cisse (for free) for the current GW will go down as my worst this season.

      B. Dempsey's going to get as many as Cisse (probably 3). So B needs Siggy and Rooney to score, or a Vorm clean sheet instead of one of those.

        Hmm, looking at the stats Dempsey might only get 2, and Baines is also a decent shout for 2-3 BP's.
        Do you see Sigurdsson scoring/Vorm keeping a clean sheet vs Spurs away? I think it's down to Rooney.
