The Dugout Discussion opens today for two Premier League games involving some of it’s most enjoyable teams to watch. Third-place chasing Spurs take on the exciting Swansea City after Newcastle host Liverpool, with the former fighting for European football.

The team news from the game at The Sports Direct Arena is in, and the sides line-up as follows…

Newcastle XI: Krul, Simpson, Williamson, Perch, Gutierrez, Guthrie, Tiote, Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Cisse, Ba.

Liverpool XI: Reina, Flanagan, Carragher, Skrtel, Jose Enrique, Shelvey, Spearing, Gerrard, Suarez, Carroll, Bellamy.

Alan Pardew is without the injured Fabricio Coloccini, which partners James Perch with Mike Williamson in central defence and puts Jonas Gutierrez in the left-back berth. It’s the same attacking mentality that served them so well at West Brom.

Liverpool also name an attacking side, knowing that a win here is essential if they want to overhaul the Magpies. Andy Carroll returns to his former stomping ground and starts alongside Luis Suarez.

    Only looking at 1 transfer option for this week.

    Walcott for Dempsey.

    hmmmm, unsure what to do here... Dempseys blank GW in wk 33 is annoying whilst Walcott has WIG at home.

    Then in wk 35 Dempsey has WIG at home!!

    Anyone else havig any thoughts about these 2?

      I think from gw34 free cash and team value will be very important. Having the ability to remove and then bring back the same player might be needed. Losing .5 here and there might be essential.

    Do you have any tips for team changes? Struggling to decide if I should take hits for the DW or for GW34, or solely based on form.

    Currently I’m thinking Pro – Cisse (shipped him out after his 0 pointer, after which he’s got a bitter 25 points in three matches ), and perhaps Siggy to Ben Arfa / McClean?

    1.6 mil in the bank.

    In the awkward position of wanting Bale to kill it, but wanting Spurs to lose, with no clean sheet for either team and Sigurdsson to do nothing..

    Looking at getting Caulker in too but think I'll wait until wk 34 just in case he doesnt get his place back after this GW.

    McAuley is another good option though dont you think?

    I like the way BAE plays the game. Seems so relaxed and chilled when he plays. He used to lack concentration but seems to have cut that out his game. Cold as ice.

    So annoyed I did not have the guts to double on Newcastle defence yet again. 6pts form Simpson sitting on my bench for the second consecutive home game in a row.

    Now i know if i double up against Bolton at home, I will be fecked and wont get a CS. So annoyed.

            I only got Krul on GW24 WC to double up. I have yet to play both of them for a Newc CS since then

      The Newcastle defensive conundrum has bothered me all season. Kept chopping and changing with Simpson and benched him when he got the points. I have since given up with Newcastle defenders.

    Food for thought for Young owners:

    Prior to Ajax away, SAF had a full squad at his disposal (aside from Vidic). He then stated he would play his strongest line up. This line up included Young/Nani but not Valencia (who came on then got injured).

    Personally, if you have Valencia then you stick, but if you have Young, I'm looking to buy Walcott in his place and keep Dempsey instead of investing in the Utd mid-minefield.

          Well it stems from the fact I have Dempsey and I'm looking to keep till GW37. Ironically, I would not keep him for his double, but rather his remaining home games.

          Therefore, I will be looking to do Young (rather than Dempsey) to Walcott instead.
