Scoutcast Episode 293 – For Joe

The Scoutcast returned on Tuesday night to discuss all the key Fantasy Premier League talking points for Gameweek 37.

It was the first produced since we found out the deeply shocking news of Joe’s admission to hospital.

Our Scoutcast host was diagnosed with a bleed on the brain last week, so we thought it best to give the show a short break.

In preparing for this latest episode, Andy, David and Az found that we were being asked more questions about Joe than about the football itself, which we found incredibly touching.

So were able to provide an update on Joe who is obviously directing all his attention towards his recovery:

“Hi, Joe here from my hospital bed.  I understand that there have been lots of kind messages asking after me.  That’s been great to hear and I really appreciate your support, sorry I can’t reply directly at the moment. I am facing a massive challenge and all my energy is focused on getting better (and triple-captaining Aguero against Leicester 😉)”

In terms of Gameweek 37 issues, we started off by looking at the dilemma of Jamie Vardy (£9.0m), who has been in fantastic form but has two tough fixtures to finish off the season.

Then we flipped things round and discussed the points potential of Manchester United players.

They have appealing fixtures against Huddersfield (away) and Cardiff (home) but are not in particularly strong form.

The Scoutcast was then rounded off by considering strategies for either protecting mini-league leads or catching up to them.

Unfortunately, given current circumstances, we will be unable to convert the final two Scoutcasts of the 2018/19 season into podcast form – but they will still be accessible on YouTube and embedded in the article below.

We hope to be able to return to cross-platform posting for the start of the new campaign.

Only got a 25 point lead in my ML and really starting to sweat.

Who is looking like a must have for the last 2 GWs?

Really wanted to bring Salah back in last GW for the TC but couldn't justify a hit this late in the season. Got the other three though.

In hindsight it was silly not bringing him in on my WC

IMO, Sterling, Aguero, Hazard, Salah and maybe Pogba(specially if Rashford and Lukaku are out).

As cheesy as it I am going for Aguero over Sterling now for the captain this week so I can cheer on a Joe TC haul without any mixed feelings!

    -4 punt.

    Son > Hazard

    Robbo > AWB

AWB will only play if Kolisinac doesn't play.

    Good?

This might sound pretty pathetic, but I'm tracking my ML rival's transfers and just wondering if this is correct:
If he bought Son at 8.5 and sells him now (at 8.9), and brings in Pogba (8.5), this results in:
    - His squad value to go down by .4
    - His money in the bank to go up by .2

Get better Joe. I’ve suffered the same. Massive challenge is correct, but, you can do this.
