The lessons learned from 2018/19’s Midfielders of the Year candidates

Balancing the premium options in midfield proved to be one of the hardest tasks of Fantasy Premier League in 2018/19.

There was a wide range of highly-priced assets in this area of the pitch that took some patience to unlock their potential.

Furthermore, there were a number of players in the mid-price bracket who caused similar problems for Fantasy managers.

With the season now over, we can look back at those who have been nominated for the Midfielder of the Year award.

The poll is now live both in the sidebar of the website and embedded at the bottom of the article.

Before we get started on this year’s candidates, we will take a brief look at those who made the Fantasy Football Scout team of the year 12 months ago.

2017/18 Fantasy Football Scout Team of the Season Review

Goalkeeper: David de Gea

Defenders: Nicolas Otamendi, Cesar Azpilicueta, Andrew Robertson

Midfielders: Mohamed Salah, Raheem Sterling, Kevin de Bruyne, Christian Eriksen, Pascal Groß

Forwards: Harry Kane, Roberto Firmino

Kevin de Bruyne was one of three midfielders who endured a tough follow-up to an impressive 2017/18 season

Whilst Mohamed Salah may have scored 44 fewer points this season he was still the top performing player in the game. I will review the key reasons why he regressed slightly later on but totals of 22 goals and 10 assists are definitely no mean feat.

Raheem Sterling, on the other hand, surpassed last year’s tally by five points, this is in spite of both scoring and assisting less.

The significance of his goals and his character off the pitch saw him a worthy winner of the Football Writer’s Player of the Year. Both Salah and Sterling are shortlisted for our FPL Team of the Year consideration.

Christian Eriksen who made last year’s start team has endured an indifferent campaign.

With 161 points, he has registered his lowest score since his Premier League debut season in 2013/14.

It is hardly surprising given that he was hampered by an abdominal injury in the early parts of the campaign and his assist potential was surely diminished by Harry Kane’s extended absence and Kieran Trippier’s increased role in set pieces.

The 2017/18 season saw an outstanding Premier League debut for Brighton’s Pascal Groß.

Registering 164 points, which comprised of seven goals and eight assists, the Seagulls talisman saw his price rise to £7.0m this time out.

However, due to injury, he managed 1,000 fewer minutes this season and only accumulated 80 points.

Kevin De Bruyne completed last year’s midfield line up. Like Eriksen and Groß, the Belgian’s season has been ravaged with injuries.

He has graced the pitch for just 968 minutes this season with his highlight being two consecutive double-digit scores against Cardiff and Crystal Palace.

His lack of game time may see FPL reduce his £10m price, making him an intriguing option should he have a full pre-season.

Raheem Sterling

Raheem Sterling went from strength-to-strength as a Fantasy asset in 2018/19

Sterling has experienced another stellar campaign. He scored 17 goals and recorded 15 assists but what is remarkable is the level of consistency he has displayed since the start of last season.

His stats, when compared to last season, are almost identical. His goal involvement has increased by a single percentage point (43% to 44%), he is averaging 0.8 more penalty box touches per match and his shots in the box have only reduced marginally from 2.0 to 1.8.

One thing that stands out is that Sterling’s finishing has improved, as this season he boasts a goal conversion rate of 22.1% compared with 20.7% in 2017/18.

Given his consistency and the trust that Pep shows in him, he will surely be in our thoughts come August even if he does have an inevitable price hike.

Mohamed Salah

Mohamed Salah was the top-scoring FPL player for the second year running in 2018/19

Salah reclaimed his top spot for overall FPL points in 2018/19. His goal threat was telling throughout, with the Egyptian leading the way in almost every threat metric amongst midfielders.

He was top for penalty box touches, goal attempts, shots in the box, shots on target and big chances.

When comparing Salah to his 2017/18 campaign, like Sterling there is an incredible level of similarities.

His average shots per match have declined slightly, his shots on target from, whilst he had more penalty box touches per match.

So why did Salah score 10 fewer goals this time around? Quite simply he was more clinical then, scoring 22% of his shots compared to just 16% in 2018/19.

Also, in 2017/18 he had 14 more big chances (43 vs 29), therefore whilst he was having a similar number of attempts the quality of these opportunities have declined this season.

Furthermore, Liverpool’s improved defence meant that they hogged the bonus points a lot more.

That allowed Salah to claim only 18, almost half as many as Eden Hazard. In fact, 25 players managed to surpass Salah’s bonus point total.

In terms of next season, the Egyptian’s ownership may depend on both his price and position.

He has started as a central striker on 14 occasions and is classed as a forward in other Fantasy such as Sky Sports Fantasy.

That said, he finished the season playing as a right-winger which should be enough to see him labelled as a midfielder once again in 2019/20.

Ryan Fraser

2018/19 was a breakthrough season for Bournemouth man Ryan Fraser

The real breakthrough star of the season has been Ryan Fraser. Priced at just £5.5m (like Groß the year before), the Scottish international has transformed into one of the Premier League’s chief creators.

In addition to his seven goals, he claimed 14 assists, a tally bettered only by Hazard and Sterling.

Fraser was third for chances created with 92 and he also topped the charts for big chances created with 28. The next best was Hazard with 19.

Fraser was involved in every match for Bournemouth and whilst he failed to return in all but one match against the top six, this actually helped us because it made him a predictable FPL asset, who we could be confident would return against the lesser sides.

He recorded an impressive 181 points this year, 17 points more than Groß did in 2017/18. Given that the German’s price inflated to £7.0m the following year, Fraser could see a similar rise for 2019/20.

Even at £7.5m, he could be a great option should Bournemouth have a kind fixture list, especially if they have a run avoiding the top six, near the beginning.

Diogo Jota

Diogo Jota took some time to burst onto the Fantasy scene but enjoyed an impressive second half of 2018/19

Diogo Jota played a huge part in helping Wolves achieve a seventh place in the league, a phenomenal achievement for the newly promoted side.

In his first-ever Premier League campaign, Jota recorded nine goals and eight assists.

However, it really was a season of two parts. In the first 14 Gameweeks, Jota produced just a solitary assist, which was, in fact, a Fantasy assist in the curtain raiser against Everton.

Jota’s record since Gameweek 15 is immense though, as he scored nine goals and assisted seven more in the 20 appearances made.

This form and consistency will surely put him on the radars of many managers for next season.

So what changed? Jota moved to a centre-forward role to partner Raul Jimenez and the impact was staggering. His goal involvement from Gameweek 15 onwards was 62%, his shots in the box increased from 0.8 to 1.9 and he averaged 0.8 big chances per match (compared to 0.1 between Gameweeks 1 and 14).

One likely change for next year is Jota’s FPL position. It is extremely likely that he will be listed as a forward and whilst this means he will get reduced points per goal it may have a positive impact on his bonus potential.

Luka Milivojevic

Crystal Palace’s propensity to win penalties underpinned another successful season for Luka Milivojevic

Penalty king Luka Milivojevic will surely be popular given the introduction of VAR. Ten of Milivojevic’s twelve strikes this season came from the spot. This resulted in him achieving 166 points, 22 more than last year.

Unlike Salah, the Serbian is a bonus points magnet. In 2018/19 Milivojevic claimed 24 points from bonus, a feat which was only bettered by eight players. He also scooped the maximum bonus on six occasions. Therefore, his penalties tend to offer more than just the 5 points afforded for a goal.

While VAR may be viewed as a positive for the Palace star, Wilfried Zaha’s future could be key to Milivojevic’s popularity next year. The Ivory Coast international has won the majority of Palace’s spot-kicks so should he depart this may dent his peer’s potential.

Paul Pogba

Paul Pogba was in exceptional form during the middle part of 2018/19

Like Milivojevic, Paul Pogba has also benefitted from penalties this season netting seven of his 10 attempts.

The World Cup winner has underwhelmed for large parts of the season yet still managed 13 goals, 10 assists and 179 FPL points.

Pogba’s season really took off when Solskjaer took temporary charge. Between Gameweeks 18 and 26, he was arguably the best player in the game.

During this period of nine matches, he scored eight times, produced six assists and only registered a blank once. The 92 points acquired during this period made up over half of his total for the whole campaign, as his potential soon dropped off a cliff from February onwards.

While Pogba’s attitude may come in to question, there is no doubt he was helped by the inclusion of Nemanja Matic and Ander Hererra.

They allowed Pogba to drift into more dangerous areas where he could be more impactful. As to the Frenchman’s FPL relevance for next season, a lot will depend on whether he still remains at Old Trafford and the level of investment that the club undertakes.

Eden Hazard

The 2018/19 season could prove to be Eden Hazard’s last as a Chelsea player

The next nominee also has an uncertain future in the Premier League. Should this have been Eden Hazard’s last season at Chelsea, then he has signed off in style by recording his best ever score of 238 points (he previous best was 233 in 2014/15).

The Belgian also equalled his most prolific season for attacking return, scoring on 16 occasions and was the top creator in the league with 15 assists.

Arguably he could have enjoyed an even bigger FPL score had his team-mates offered better support. Of all the candidates, Hazard has been involved in the highest percentage of his team’s goals with a staggering 60%.

The Belgian’s underlying statistics are also impressive. When compared with other midfielders, he boasted the most touches in the final third with 1,004, over 200 more than his closest rival David Silva. He was also second for both chances created and big chances created.

Sadio Mané

Sadio Mané matched Mohamed Salah’s Premier League goal tally in 2018/19

Twelve goals in his last 14 matches saw Sadio Mané share the Golden Boot with Salah and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Not surprisingly, this was the Senegalese international’s best campaign scoring 22 goals and 231 FPL points, proving the fourth-best in the league for the latter.

Interestingly, Mané’s stats are in fact fairly similar to last year. His FPL goal involvement has reduced from 34 to 32%, his penalty box touches have marginally increased from 4.9 to 5.7 and his shots have remained constant at 2.4 per match.

One noticeable difference, however, is Mané’s chance conversion rate. Last season 14% of his strikes found the net, whereas he has scored 25% of his chances this year.

A big reason for this is that Mané has scored 15 of his 26 big chances (58%) in comparison to just seven of 19 (37%) last term. This year only Jamie Vardy scored more big chances with 16.

Whilst Mané has been more prolific in front of goal he only registered three assists all season in comparison to eight the year before. His minutes per chance created decreased from 46 (17/18) to 69.

At the start of the season Mané was priced £3.5m cheaper than Salah so it will be interesting to see how closely FPL price the two players in 2019/20. This will surely be a key factor in deciding which Liverpool attacking asset managers opt for.

Son Heung-min

Son provided a viable alternative to Harry Kane in 2018/19

Son Heung-min is another player who offered great value in 2018/19 and gave managers a viable alternative to Harry Kane.

His score of 159 points is actually his worst in the last three seasons.

However, it was his sensational form from Gameweeks 13 to 21 that really caught the attention of FPL Managers. He had a similar nine-match spell to Pogba, gaining an impressive 88 points from eight goals and six assists.

Over the season, Son’s stats were almost identical to the previous year. In both 2017/18 and 2018/19, he scored 12 times and assisted on 8 occasions.

When taking a further look at the numbers we can see that his shots in the box remained constant at 1.4 per match, as did his shots on target at 0.9.

Even his goal conversion rate at 16% was identical and he created 1.1 chances per match in both seasons. So it is clear Son can now offer us consistent returns for our FPL teams.

Son’s position and price will surely be the key factors in determining the interest in the South Korean. In the Sky game, he is listed as a forward and has played up-front on several occasions this season.

Gylfi Sigurdsson

Gylfi Sigurdsson enjoyed his best-ever Fantasy season in 2018/19

Like many in the list, Gylfi Sigurdsson has enjoyed his best season in 2018/19 beating his total from 2016/17 by a single point.

He scored 13 goals and created six more for his team-mates and he is another who may end up with more opportunities for points next season with the introduction of VAR.

Sigurdsson has improved in almost every department compared to last season. He has created more chances (1.9 per match compared to 1.4), he has had more attempts (2.3 vs 1.4) and more shots on target (0.9 vs 0.4). The overall result is that he has been involved in 37% of Everton’s goals, up from 26% the previous campaign.

Richarlison

Richarlison had another season characterised by a strong start and a stuttered finish

Richarlison also joined Sigurdsson with 13 goals. During the first half of the season, Richarlison scored nine times and also assisted twice in 17 matches.

However, he only managed 4 strikes in the second part of the season. Whilst there was a minor difference in his shots, shots in the box and shots on target, his goal conversion dropped from 22% to 9%.

Having started the last two seasons strongly he could be a good option in our initial FPL squads.

His go to formation at the World Cup. Gets the best out of his fullback options, protects Maguire's lack of pace and hides the lack of creative midfielder in the squad (which may explain Maddison's absence).

Maybe that's because Gomez, who he raves so highly about, has been injured. It would be interesting to see if he reverts to his back 3 against Holland.

And yes, Maguire is quite slow in 1v1 situations. Which is why, iirc, he played as the LCB in a 3, meaning that even if he was beaten, it was from the inside left channel and not allowing an attacker to go clean through on goal.

I think that's what happened at the World Cup, maybe my memory serves me wrong.

After seeing City comfortably take apart Watford, without Aguero, where should they be looking strengthen in the transfer market?

For me, clearly they need a replacement for Fernandinho. What do you think is needed beyond that?

      A transfer ban is what's needed 🙂

Can see them signing a Kompany replacement, a first choice left back and a holding player. Maybe a wide player if Sane is off.

The scary thing is KdB barely featured this year. I gave him earmarked as my potential differential when everyone piled in on Sterling.

In real life he and Bilva could be a devastating combination.

They've been linked with Rodri from Atletico Madrid in recent weeks, as a long term replacement for Fernandinho, which makes sense. I imagine they'd need to pay his release clause to get him, which I read is around £60m.

With the Kompany news, and Otamendi most likely leaving a new CB will also be a priority. I bet Pep would love De Ligt, Maguire has also been talked about.

Gundogan looks like he's staying so no need for a CM now, maybe a forward if Sane leaves - João Félix?

Can't see them moving for a new LB in this window. The emergence of Zinchenko means they'll focus elsewhere IMO.

They're both on long term deals, imagine it would be closer to 150m for two England internationals, especially as Leicester don't need to sell.

The Mahrez saga won’t exactly have made Leicester any keener on doing business with City either.

I think 75 mill a pop is the least they’d demand. As you say no reason to sell at all.

Personally think the treble this season plus the anti-City feeling from UEFA re a CL ban in 2020/21 will embolden the owners to go out and spend big to try to win everything next season.

That means buying a LB, a CB and a DM.

      GK: Ederson, Bravo, Muric
      LB: Mendy, [New LB]
      RB: Walker, Danilo
CB: Laporte, [New CB], Stones, Otamendi
      DM: Fernandinho, [New DM]
      CM: KDB, Silva, Foden, Gundogan
      RM: Bernardo, Mahrez
      LM: Sterling, Sane
      FW: Aguero, Jesus

Delph, Kompany and Mangala will be allowed to leave. Zinchenko will be part of the squad, but not in the main 23.

Zinchenko has played well so I don’t think a new left back is an absolute priority.

Another centre half could be useful with Vinny and Otamendi potentially off - Toby A for 25 million anyone?
Foden can fill the gap Withy silva, as can his namesake.

Knowing city, potentially another wide forward?

      New CB to replace Kompany
      Long-term successor to Fernandinho
      Possibly a LB
A wide attacker as I think Sane will leave.

      £250mil should cover it 😉

If de Ligt does choose Liverpool over Barcelona (I think we would all be surprised), I would fancy them to break the CS record next season. Got 21 clean sheets this season although Gomez was out since December and Fabinho wasn't introduced to the team around then too.

Makes their fullbacks even better picks. Seems a very unlikely transfer on the face of it though.

It would be so harsh on Gomez though. And Matip for that matter. Both being brilliant in there alongside VVD

It certainly would but ruthless clubs make ruthless decisions to win. de Ligt probably goes on to become what VVD is now, so your £65m investment for 10 years is a no brainer; or if he left, you'd make a handsome profit.

There's enough games in a season for Gomez and Matip to get games too. de Ligt is only 19 iirc, so he wouldn't need to play 38 games. I think that's what Ballague (lol) suggested is the stumbling block with Barcelona too, they cannot guarantee him a nailed on spot for every game for now.

Anyhow, don't see this transfer happening. 🙁

Eden Hazard mid of the season for me! Carried that Chelsea team into the champions league. Most assists out of anyone, double figures with goals also. BAPs monster. Second highest scorer.

As this is about FPL my five would be Hazard, Sterling, Mane, Sigurdsson, Fraser.

That gives an affordable midfield five with genuine captaincy options. Salah did not deliver to his £13m price tag. If he was £11.5m or less he would have delivered to his price tag.

If anyone has anything they'd like me to consider over the next few weeks regarding site upgrades for the summer let me know. My list is extensive and largely filled in by stuff the Community has mentioned already, but let me know if there is anything that you really want to see.

Also, I'm behind on my emails and I've got a few people to respond to there - if I haven't gotten back to you yet I apologize, busy weekend of FFS planning.

One of the bigger things I want to do this summer and something that looks possible is separating out threads, in a small first-step way. I'm going to try to give RMTs a unique section, still have a general discussion area, and then also (along with a slight site redesign) provide an area for some more directed conversations on specific topics. I'm trying to firm up exactly what that will look like but I'm hopeful that it'll come in for next season and we have a plan for this.

Lots of tweaks to members as well, I'm looking into how complicated Ticker and RMT upgrades are, and new features like a top 6/bottom 6 filter in members look close.

            Agree with all these.

Full disclosure we're having trouble unpacking the ticker code and to get some of these in we might have to fully re-write it, which is unfortunate and will take longer. But hopefully we can get the code we have now working properly and then tweak that.

Agree with Roy. Also, wasn't it possible previously to swap the Gameweek columns around in the Season Ticker, which was really useful?

I know you can focus on particular blocks of fixtures, which is also useful, but it was handy to be able to shift the columns around (for example, if you were freehitting in gameweek 24 and wanted to see what the fixtures for weeks 22, 23 and 25 were like, but not 24).

Also not a biggie, but was useful.

Would it be possible to have standardised sound for the scout cast team.

Not sure if anyone else noticed this but Az was always very quiet while Andy was always loud, with the others somewhere in the middle.

It's entirely selfish request, but it caused quite a bit of consternation in the car where I would often listen, where I would turn it up for Az only to be shouted at by Andy.

Only a small things but it would add some gloss on what is a very useful and insightful part of the site.

FISO adds details of all flags that have been changed, added or removed every day, and currently have 3037 entries going right back to the beginning of the season.

Perhaps our Injuries and Bans tab could list the players whose flags have been most recently been removed.

Or perhaps we could add a FPL Status Changes table (like the FPL Price Changes table) in the right-hand column.
But our FPL Price Changes table currently only covers only 13 changes over a period of 2 days, which may be insufficient if you go away for longer than that.

It can be more than 13 changes, if there are more than 13.

We can make the same flag info publicly viewable pretty easily. I'll check in on that

It isn't too difficult though to look through my watchlist to see which players were previously flagged, and then to see whether they are still in the Injuries and Bans list.

We tried it last year and it worked well, but without a dedicated space, just in Community Articles. It should work better with a bit of infrastructure tied to it and hopefully we can get that in for game launch!

Great ideas Geoff and good luck for what is clearly going to be a busy off-season for you!

One idea for making RMTs automatically go the the correct places might be a drop down as soon as you click "post comment" or "reply where the page simply asks you whether you want to post a comment or a RMT. Maybe a radio button where you click one or the other. Those RMTs can then be automatically sent elsewhere.

It won't stop all the random RMTs but it might help, because it reminds people when they are posting that there is a separate place for them. A lot of people don't spam RMTs because they are being difficult but because they forget or are ignorant of the rules in the first place. Nobody wants to post something that might not be looked at and nobody wants to have to duplicate effort copying and pasting elsewhere, so perhaps if the option is given from the start then it will encourage people to do the "right" thing.

Yeah there will be lots of on site reminders, whatever the system that we go with is. I don't want to spoil too much, or promise anything that doesn't come through, but I think we've got it mostly sorted!

It'll take buy in from people on site of course but I really think it'll be a massive help. The buttons you mention is something that could be added in as well, potentially

All of my suggestions are either minor tweaks rather than big ticket items or have implications for the nature of the site (and all have been suggested at least once over the years) but I'll make them anyway...

      1. Current search function looks site-wide for articles containing the search string. Reintroduce the search function that used to exist at an article level that allowed you to find comments within that article.
      2. Introduce the ability to search within a user's posting history.
      3. Option to 'ignore' posters so that their comments are no longer visible unless you choose to reveal them.
      4. Option to 'follow' posters so that you can easily see the latest activity from those you value most.
      5. Certain logical data points in the members area are 'missing'. You can construct a table with Chances conceded(left), Chances conceded(right) and Chances conceded(centre) but there's no data point for Chances conceded(total). Same goes for Crosses conceded and possibly more but I haven't done an exhaustive search. This one goes back to 2014 🙂 https://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/comment/8378523
      6. Another table request from that same 2014 thread: some way of Incorporating changes in performance into the tables so that you can monitor uptick or downturn in performance: https://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/comment/8378550
      7. Allow 'OR' statements in the conditions when creating tables. E.g. a table to show midfielders who have had 10 shots OR created 15 chances in the last 4 weeks. That kind of thing.
      8. Allow users to create calculated columns within user defined tables - e.g. chances created/appearance.

Basically, can we have more nerdy stuff please 🙂

        Nice analysis!

        - Point no.8 -> potentially being able to create 'custom' KPIs as the
one proposed here (or e.g. Pts/million, etc.)
        - Add historical points to the available data in the tables; it is really useful - especially for newer players 😉

        Thanks!

100%, this and player images. Basically I'm going to try to get a mod or two to chip away at updating those things as I don't really have the time right now and that's been on my list for a while.

The question will be how far back do we delete player info..

        1. Zogzeg
          • 11 Years

I suggest never deleting the old data. Instead have a default database of, say, "last 4 seasons", with a user option to expand or reduce the timeframe.

There will doubtless be times when people are researching particular projects and the older stats will be pure gold.

          1. Zogzeg
            • 11 Years

Perhaps rather than ignoring earlier seasons, a better system might be to ignore players' stats that haven't featured for the last 'X' seasons? Either way, the old data is sure to be gratefully received from time to time.

Yeah, that's a better system. I'd been thinking of hiding the data from users rather than deleting it outright, but there's no reason we couldn't put a toggle in instead that's set to off as standard but can be changed by a user when it's wanted

Add a tool that allows planning your team several weeks in advance.
See who your players are facing in the next couple of weeks, give the option of making "fake transfers" within those weeks.

Look into the "my stats table" section.

Whenever I change the GW range in a table, I, more or less, always need to go through these steps for it to update: change the range -> filter -> go back to the root -> load the relevant table again -> filter the range I want again -> it finally shows the range I want.

Couple this with it taking 10-20 seconds to load the table, it takes a lot of the fun out of using the tables...Hope you can do something about it 🙂

Might be a little late to the party & not necessarily an upgrade but would it be possible to include more hot topics directly related to the article next season? It would be nice to be able to have a discussion related to the article, but quite often there is little or no discussion surrounding it and the comments are all RMTs.

It would be nice for comment 1 to be a hot topic about the article for people to comment on.

You've all done a great job this year & looking forward to next season. All the best.

Hi. I have a moan about it every season (since the colouring was changed). But I find it difficult to read the puce grey coloured team names at the side of the ticker.
The old format had the names in black. The old format had the dates of games, when you hovered over the team in question; which was very useful as in other Fantasy games (eg. Sun dream team) the match weeks don't correspond exactly with the fpl game. So it was easier to reference the ticker for other fantasy games.
      I use the Firefox browser.
      Otherwise all good and thankyou.

A highlighted 'hot topic' box, much like this one, at the bottom of the page above the 'post comment' dialogue box with the GW's FAQs to limit the number of people posting the same question over and over ie.

Heading - GW38 FAQs (click on question for answer)

      Is Rashford available/fit?
How long is Son banned for?
      Is Boruc dropped? etc

The user is then taken to the corresponding question in the thread with an appropriate answer or the team news section.

A filter targeting key words, ie "Rashford" "fit" "Son" "ban", could be applied much like the one that prevents a person posting the same comment twice if a user ignores the 'GWs FAQs Box' and their query has been brought up before. A orange highlighted comment prompting the user to refer to the FAQs will appear.

Definitely improve conversations/topics. More 'forum' style would be great.

Unless I'm missing something, seeing actual FPL points (and ideally previous seasons too) in the members area would be the best thing that could happen. It's all very well trying to work out points combining stats that point to likely goal involvement, clean sheets or bonus, but nothing encapsulates that better than actual points.

And as an addition, maybe get the FPL projections into the stats tables too.

Ah, it's called 'Overall Points', thank you, found it! I was looking for 'Points' or 'FPL Points'. It also doesn't show on the "Fantasy Stats" tables for the "Player Stats", which seems a bit of an omission.

It also seems buggy - just testing now, it will only do this seasons points (it will let me change the filter to other seasons, but keeps this season's points - e.g. for 2016/17 season it will show Robertson with 213 points playing for Hull!)

          https://members.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/public-stats-tables/view/32006/

Aside from fixing that, the only thing I'd add then would be a Points per minute, and points per appearance (I can do this myself with a copy and paste into a spreadsheet, but it'd be easier if it were just in the table).

Hi Geoff, there are two things I want to suggest in members stats area:
      1. Add extra filter which is Last 4/6 games but based on each club last games, not by each player last games.
      2. Adding team filters before click confirm, so we can show players by certain teams only, not using tickboxes which is take longer to do.

These two are additional from my last two suggestions (from last season), which I'm hoping it'll be implemented someday:
      3. Make all Opta stats also available in "All Players" category, not only by position.
      4. Confirmed table filters better should not linked with other window/tab table. Let's say I'm modifying table A in tab I, then I go modifying table B in tab II, when I want to use tab I with small modification from table A, it shouldn't bring filters I confirmed from the tab II. Too much effort from this one.

      Thank you Geoff

In pre-season it would be really useful if the RMT section of the members site remembered your team - if I remember correctly from last year, each time I returned to the site to tinker with my team using the RMT tool, I had to re-enter my whole squad - which is a real hassle on mobile.

If the RMT tool can't access saved team prior to a new gameweek (i.e. the whole pre-season), then how about being able to save drafts in the RMT members section so we can access and tinker with them that way?

This passed me by over the weekend, but Bournemouth signing Lloyd Kelly from Bristol City for £13m is an interesting one. I'd read Liverpool were keen. Natural LB who can play CB too, England U21 international, 10 clean sheets for Bournemouth this season (more than Leicester, Wolves, Arsenal) - could be one to watch if priced at 4.5m.

Why are we allowed 5 midfield picks but only 4 defender picks for Team of the Season?

I’m joking about having an agenda but I’m serious about the picture. It’s like a Phil Jones moment.

Can anyone tell me why we didn't see that hitec camera zooming in graphics when sterling scored his first goal in the cup final to see if it was over the line before he touched it?
Both BT and BBC didnt show us.
