FFS Mini-Leagues & Community Competitions Gameweek 6

Welcome to the latest round-up of the Fantasy Football Scout mini-leagues and community competitions. This article covers Gameweek 6 in FPL, Gameweek 22 in Fantasy Eliteserien, and Gameweek 24 in Fantasy Allsvenskan.

First a reminder. For those wishing to take part in the Pundit’s Play-Off Community Tournament registration is still open. The deadline for entry is 30 September.

Head-to-Head Leagues

I am delighted to announce two new features have been added to the FFS Head-to-Head league today.

Owen Walker (aka Zan Keroski) triumphed in his top-of-the-table clash with olavi oja to continue his 100% winning start to League 1. 

Olavi went into the tie with the better overall rank, and would have gone first with a win, but he suffered a comprehensive 84 to 57 point defeat.

Owen gained 34 points from Kevin De Bruyne alone. De Bruyne, who was Owen’s vice-captain, took over armband duties as Owen’s captain Raheem Sterling remained an unused sub on the City bench. And the Career Hall of Fame number 13 demonstrated a Midas touch by transferring in Nicolás Otamendi, who scored and assisted for a 15-point return. 

Elsewhere in the Head-to-Head leagues, Bruce Savage has the maximum 18 points in League 2, likewise Neil Methold in League 3. Lower down, 8 managers have six wins out of six in League 5, only 3 managers in League 6, 21 managers in League 7 and 50 managers in League 8.

Fantasy Football Scout Mini-Leagues

Mohammad Hafiz Emran increased his lead in our Fantasy Football Scout mini-league and has moved up to second overall. 

He gained 82 points in Gameweek 6 after captaining Aguero and getting double-digit returns from De Bruyne, Lundstram, Ryan, and McGinn. The latter having been promoted from his bench to replace Sterling. 

Mohammad has used two chips – his Triple Captain and Wildcard – and is 18 points behind the new world number one Medhat Shawky. In addition to playing his Triple Captain and Wildcard, Medhat has also used his Free Hit chip.

There are currently 43,425 managers participating in the Fantasy Football Scout mini-league, to join them enter code ooyz44 in your Leagues’ section on the FPL site. 

Tom Foster extended his lead to 23 points in our FFS Members mini-league and is up to 152nd overall.

Tom used his first chip of the season in Triple Captaining Aguero and, along with double-figure returns from De Bruyne and Maddison, it helped him to a Gameweek score of 83. But things could have been even better for Tom as he unfortunately left Lundstram on the bench.

Previous leader Marie Skomedal moves back into second place. Coincidentally, she also played her Triple Captain chip on Aguero and left Lundstram on her bench.

Community Mini-Leagues and Competitions

In TorresMagic’s Last Man Standing the safety score for Gameweek 6 was 46 points, this saw 234 managers eliminated. The threshold for elimination remains at 6% for Gameweek 7.

A total of 1,400 managers have departed the competition so far with 3,418 managers left to battle it out for the coveted title of Last Man Standing. It is still possible to join them: entries are accepted up until Gameweek 22 – use the code bcvy39 in your Leagues’ section on the FPL site. However you must pass all the previous safety scores to qualify.

Aside from bragging rights, the winner will receive a free Fantasy Football Scout Membership for the 2020/21 season.

John Holmes is the new leader in RedLightning’s Top 10k Any Season mini-league and is up to 313th overall. 

This is his twelfth FPL season and in that time he’s managed two top 10,000 finishes, the best one being 7,439th place in 2013/14. This season, he played his Wildcard in Gameweek 3 and his Free Hit in Gameweek 4. In Gameweek 6 he scored 92 points after captaining Aguero and getting double-digit returns from De Bruyne, Lundstram and Ryan.

Managers with a top 10k finish may join the league using the code m0tq9y.

In Chaballer’s Top 1,000 HoF League Icelander Ómar Olgeirsson squeezes ahead of Frenchman Francois Jacquemot by a point. Ómar captained De Bruyne and benefited from signing Otamendi in Gameweek 5. However, like Tom and Marie, he also left Lundstram on his bench. 

Ómar is 474th in the Career Hall of Fame (HoF). Managers in the top 1,000 of the HoF may enter the league using the code beeps2.

2014/15 FPL winner Simon March (aka Dufflinks) slips from first to fourth in his exclusive FPL Champions League as 2017/18 champion Yusuf Sheikh takes over at the top.

Yusuf managed double-figure hauls from five of his players on his way to a Gameweek 6 score of 82 points. Otamendi, Lundstram, David Silva, Wood, and his captain Aubameyang formed Yusuf’s high-scoring quintet. 

Eliteserien and Allsvenskan

There’s a new name at the top of the FFS Eliteserien mini-league as Thomas Wickstrøm jumps from fourth to first in a dramatic Gameweek 22.

Thomas played his Wildcard and scored an impressive 64 points. He earned double-figure hauls from his captain Torgeir Børven, who contributed 22 points, and Amahl Pellegrino, who returned 10 points. Thomas moves up to 20th overall.

Long-time leader Svein Johansen slips to third in the FFS mini-league following a disappointing 34 points. While he also owned Torgeir Børven, Svein captained Leke James who managed only an assist. 

Luke Dyer held onto second place with 45 points, he’s one point ahead of Svien. Eight points currently separate the top four managers in the mini-league. 

Håvard Gustad extended his run at the summit of the overall leaderboard to six weeks. Håvard has a 12-point cushion to second place, and is 53 points ahead of Thomas Wickstrøm.

After Gameweek 24, there’s no change at the top of the FFS Allsvenskan mini-league, Henrik Mäkitalo retains the number 1 spot with a Gameweek score of 77 points.

Henrik played a mini-wildcard: making three transfers for the cost of four points. Most notably he brought in midfielder Jonathan Ring in place of Alexander Kacaniklic, resulting in an immediate 12-point gain. With six Gameweeks to go Henrik is second overall, just seven points off the top!

Second place in the FFS mini-league still belongs to Daniel Sebestyen. Daniel’s 66 points this Gameweek included 22 points from his captain Sead Haksabanovic. Daniel also successfully transferred in defender Aslak Fonn Witry for Joona Toivo, the move netting him an immediate 10 points. He’s now 15 points behind Henrik and fifth in the overall standings. 

Simon Eriksson held onto third spot. He also captained Sead Haksabanovic on his way to 65 points. Ranked seventh in the world, Simon is 13 points behind Daniel.
