Is Riyad Mahrez a viable cut-price FPL route into the Man City attack?

Averaging 10.50 points per start and providing better value for money (based on points per million spent) than all other Manchester City assets bar Kevin De Bruyne (£10.0m), Riyad Mahrez (£8.5m) is hovering on the Fantasy Premier League radar at present.

With De Bruyne nursing a groin injury and a doubt for the visit of Wolves on Sunday, the demand for Mahrez’s services may well step up a notch as we approach the weekend.

Currently, the Algerian is the fifth-most-bought FPL midfielder of Gameweek 8.

Successive double-digit hauls against Watford and Everton have increased interest, although he is still very much in differential territory when it comes to FPL ownership (4.1% at the time of writing).

Is he worth considering as a Fantasy option, then, in the weeks ahead?

        The plan is to get one or two in GW 13, when their fixtures turn. But it is a big risk. I can see Salah and Aguero punishing me.

        Mahrez can become Son, but I am not sure how Spurs will react after a 7-2 defeat. I also heard something about Son getting a knock but I am not sure.

    Mahrez could become essential if Bilva gets ban from FA ( shame on them if they do ban him ) . I think he'll be guaranteed starter for 5-6 gameweeks if things go that way.

        I think that Kun is slightly more of a rotation worry than Mahrez. It's a long season, everbodey will play, but I prefer Mahrez because he's almost 4 mil cheaper. Cheers

    Guenduzi looks a fair straight swap for Cantwell if crocked, doesn't he? Picking up an assist every few games, has almost scored twice, great home fixtures

          Wouldn't lose Auba, so the only way would be Son or Salah.
          Not much to like about Spurs at the moment, so it would be Son to Yarmolenko (or someone similar) for me.

            Yeah definitely not a fan of losing Salah and Auba is going nowhere for quite some time, so would certainly be Son to Yarmo, or maybe even Jorginho which allows Pukki to Vardy the following week, but three chelsea assests may just be silly.

      Pep half hinted KdB could play some part this weekend, but if he doesn't and is allowed cry off the Internationals then he returns for GW9 in full form and health. Basically this is almost certainly a 1 game rest under the circumstances.
