It’s back on. Sergio Aguero’s finishing and the toil and creativity of Carlos Tevez come to the fore as City rout the Baggies, closing the gap on United thanks to Wigan’s shock 1-0 win at the DW Stadium. Gameweek 33 closed with a night of intrigue and our members can now digest our selection of the key statistics from all ten matches, along with our punt on where the Fantasy Premier League bonus points will be heading…
1 hit this week in prep for GW 34 then 1 more GW 36 for DGW.
Full playing 11 GW 34. 7 DGW players GW 36.
What will you have?Open ControlsCurrently a full 11 for GW34 and 1 hit for 7 DGWers or 2 for 8, I haven't decided yet.
Open Controlssame dilemma. Thinking of the extra hit for Spurs def. Worth it?
Open Controls
What are people's thoughts on Busaky v Andrews of West Brom? Can anyone give me an insight? need to bring in 1 or the other.
Open ControlsWhy would you bring one of these players in? You would probably only play them in this game, and even if it isn't for a hit, you are using up a transfer that could be much more useful for GW36
Open ControlsIt's a chance i'm taking, with a Hit mind u, to get in Aguero this week instead of starting 10.
GW 34: Busaky/Andrews & Augero v Moses @ the Emirates & 0. I think this will more then give me back my 4 points.Open Controlsok. So its a money issue. That makes more sense. How much have you got to play with? Be aware that cities next two are away. Aguero doesn't score away (but then neither did dempsey!)
Open Controls0.3 short for Suarez to Kun. Thought that was the best way to find it.
Do you think Andrews holds his place, would prefer considering at home. Yeh I thought about the bad away form, but just have a feeling City aren't quite done with, with Tevez upfront with Kun, could be lethal.Open ControlsGood punt if you are chasing in my opinion. The two players you are choosing between have similar potential. QPR the team in form, but West brom at home. I wouldn't worry about it really. Your're not expecting either to get you more than 2 points, and will probably not be seen again for the rest of the season!
Open ControlsCheers CM. Will go with the home player then if all points to a start come Saturday morning.
Open Controls
3 people have signed up in the last 15 minutes.
Who is still signing up at this stage of the season?Open Controls
Team for the week: i'm ready to pull the trigger with my wildcard in GW36 🙂
Szczesny
Turner, Evans
Song, Silva, McClean ,Valencia
Holt, RVP, RooneyOpen ControlsI chose BAE (NOR) and Evans (wig) ahead of Santon (BOL).
In retrospect it wasn't very good, but should I have done it differently?Open ControlsIf in doubt. Go with the home player. Especially if the away game is at wigan at the end of the season!!
Open Controlshmm, what's that smell.
ah yes!! freshly baked bias! 😉Open Controls
Was always going to be difficult. I'd have considered Santon over BAE...possibly..but very tough choice!
Thankfully for me it was either Evans, Caulker or Senderos.
Senderos is always on bench, knew Caulker would concede and Evans conceded a Wigan goal, surprisingly I wasn't upset about that though 😀Open Controlshehe. so you are happy you weren't even close? 😛
congrats on a great win btw!Open Controls
I don't mind benching Santon in that spot as he has been a major rotation risk lately.
Open Controls"Has been" being the operative words. He is our only left back, but was taken out of the firing line for a couple of games after a couple of mistakes. He's back now and refreshed. No reason for him not to play every game from here on in. Especially while we still have something to play for.
Open Controls
Parmtree, may I copy your option for DGW ? haha 😉 Tempted to get Pienaar or Jelavic atm.Which transfer are better ?
A) Rooney > Jelavic or
B) Siggy > Pieenar
So, my upfront for gw36 will be :
Dempsey Bale B.Arfa (Siggy / Pienaar)
Cisse Rvp (Rooney / Jelavic)
Choose one..Cheers ~Open ControlsI'm getting rid of Rooney for Ade to raise funds, IMO i'd go for Pienaar as he'll play both games.
DGW team
Vorm(WOL)
Baines(FUL,sto) • Turner(BOL) • Simpson(wig,che)
Bale(BLA,bol) • Dempsey(eve,liv) • Sessegnon(BOL) • HBA(wig,che) • Pienaar(FUL,sto)
Adebayor(BLA,bol) • P.Cisse(wig,che)
Subs: Sorenson(ARS,eve) • RVP(sto) • Caulker(WOL) • Evans(mc)Open ControlsWow ! Jelous with your team ❗ Argh,I can;t afford Pienaar if not downgrade Rooney..But , must take -8 hit for that transfer ..worth or not ?
Open ControlsIf you've got nothing to lose or win(like I have) then just go for it.
I'm taking an 8 pointer too, many others will and some may go crazy with -12 or even -16!Open Controls
Turner, Moses and possibly Simpson set to rise
Gerrard, Enrique & Bale set to dropOpen ControlsDon't think Simpson will do 🙁
Turner rising is nice though, Moses not so much as I may get him in for 37 and 38.
Bale dropping..meh. Think I'm keeping him for the DGW anyway...I hope he keeps dropping and he gets a massive haul and turns out to be a wonderful differential 😀Open Controlsi starting to have doubt whether i want to keep bale though for dgw36. before this gw i did ask opinion here which transfer is more worthy,is it skrtel -> verm or bale -> walcott, but in the end went for the 1st one..is it possible that ade should be enough to cover for spurs attacking?
Open ControlsReally hard to say, I'm keeping both for QPR game and judging then. I'd have probably done Bale > Walcott if I'd had the chance, but instead swapped Dempsey due to price rises.
Ade is so annoying it's untrue, can score huge one game then go on a long streak of 2 pointers. IMO, best waiting till before the deadline, keeping a close eye on all key DGW players and then going from there. I'd fancy Bale over Ade though, however I'll likely keep both and get Cisse in for Rooney.Open Controls
Bale ? Oh No !
Open Controls
Game Week 34 … just keep getting back and forth banter on whether fielding a full team this week or just saving up for the double in Week 36 is better …
9 starters for Week 34, 2 free transfers, 1.4M in the bank, ahead by 20 points in my league
Vorm (Krul)
Verm, Evans (Simpson, Enrique, Kelly)
Siggy, Valencia, Walcott, McClean (Dempsey)
Rooney, RVP (Cisse)
Choices:
a) Enrique- > Kompany or Caulker … Do I really want to use a transfer for a defender?
b) Dempsey -> Sess or Silva … Dempsey’s good form scares me to lose him
c) Cisse and Dempsey -> Aguero and Larsson… would give me a huge boost and I could field the full 11
d) Do nothing and let the pack try to catch me and use my transfers for week 36 to bury them with TOT, Eve, Che double players
Any thoughts would be appreciated!Open ControlsGW34 Team
Mignolet
Kompany, Caulker, Evans, Vermmaelen
Siggy, Sessegnon(VC), Valencia, Walcott
RVP(C), Rooney
Schwarzer, BAE, Cisse, Dempsey
How do I look for this GW? I thought I had a plan in place to get 2 more DGWers but I keep changing my mind on who to bring in. Out of : Bale, Ade, Mata, HBA, Baines, Jellyfish which 2 would you pick? Or which do you feel has the most upside in GW36? ThanksOpen ControlsI held on to Bale. The dgw games are tasty and for that reason Ade is a good pick also. Not sure that Mata will start both games and HBA fixtures are tough enough too. Would go for one or both Spurs and Jellybaby
Open ControlsThanks for the input guys. Tot do have the best games but they are in poor form right now and not sure I wanna put one of my last 2 eggs in the Bale/Ade basket. Mata is a pretty big rotation risk but I had to put him there as they have 2 home games and if he does manage to play both his upside could be huge. Depends on how much risk I wanna take on I guess. No chance Baines gets rotated again right? right? I might have to go huge at the back with Baines, Verm and BAE then bring in Bale or HBA. Ugh so many options.
Open Controls
Scary, i have the same starting 11 with Vorm instead of Mig. Word on the street is that mig might be rotated though 🙁
Open Controls
Who to bring in this week...Sessegnon or Walcott?
Open ControlsWalcott for sure~
Open Controlssess
Open ControlsHmm, depends on your ML and whether you're catching or not and who they've got.
Walcott is probably going to be the more popular, I would imagine. He is against an in-form Wigan though, so you never know.
Sess has the better fixture IMO, against a Wolves side who are conceding left, right and centre. He may also prove more of a differential in your fixtures too?Open ControlsThanks for the advice...you've confirmed by thoughts that Sess is the way to go...might even be worth the captain's armband?!
Open Controlsthere are many options to captain for this gw. rooney could ran riot against aston villa especially after this loss to wigan. rvp is playing against wigan which on the paper is a sure win game. sess is at home against wolves side who is the favorite to go down. i'm going with rvp atm
Open Controls
Sell Cisse for Aguero? then switch back to Cisse for GW36
Aguero (nor, wol, -4 hit) vs Cisse (blank, STO)
Worth it?Open ControlsHard to buy a player in with so little away form to date.
Open Controls
No overall rank update though 🙁
Open Controls148k for me this week, will be over 70 with baps
Open ControlsStill pretty good. I should be around 77 or so.
Open Controls
What are people's best GW Rank this season?
I somehow managed a glorious 558 through getting 106 points in GW4 😀Open Controls
57 (plus 14 BPs) according to the above. Sat on a red arrow - surely this is likely to turn green to keep my charge at the top 1k going??...
Open ControlsYes sir. I should surely crack the top 10k with 77 after baps then? Was at 14k last week
Open ControlsYeah - your team is poised to advance well during the run-in, imo.
Stay - on - target [*Star Wars voice*] 🙂Open ControlsCheers man, not sure if you saw my post earlier but thanks for the congrats on the Elite 64 matchup. It was emotional. 🙂
Open ControlsIt was bittersweet to write. Bah, humbug.
I seem to be steady-eddy this year, lots of 50-60's but not much too far outside that range. I had a terrible feeling about Wacott finally not being as sh!t as I was hoping he'd be ...
Should follow my gut 🙂
But I do think top 1K, maybe better, is a definite target/possibility for you this year. This crazy year. So, job well done.Open Controls
anyone else havin probs gettin into fpl?
Open ControlsIs McClean captain crazy?
Can't trust Rooney anymore, RVP hasn't scored in open play for yonks and Wigan are playing well, Walcott is too unpredictable, Siggy doesn't score at home and Swans are off form, Young might not even play.
With wolves at home he seems like the best bet and he is definately capable of getting a haul.Open ControlsJasus I knew my 54 score wasn't exactly massive but I did think it'd be better than 500,000th as a gameweek rank. Red arrow time I guess 🙁
Open ControlsBoth?
Open ControlsCan't squeeze em' in.
DGW Midfield...
Bale(BLA,bol) • Dempsey(eve,liv) • Sess(BOL) • HBA/Siggy • Pienaar(FUL,sto)Open ControlsId get HBA over Pienaar tbh. Everton scoring 4 goals in a game is a one-time thing, and won't happen again this season.
HBA is in red-hot form, I'm surely getting him in over Pienaar.Open ControlsLeaves me with £4.4m in the bank and this for the double..........
Vorm(WOL)
Baines(FUL,sto) • Turner(BOL) • Simpson(wig,che)
Bale(BLA,bol) • Dempsey(eve,liv) • Sess(BOL) • HBA(wig,che)
Adebayor(BLA,bol) • P.Cisse(wig,che) • RVP(sto)
Subs: Sorenson(ARS,eve) • Sigurdsson(WOL) • Caulker(WOL) • Evans(mc)
Any additional changes will cost -4pts!Open Controls
What happened to Silva dropping? Surely 67k people couldn't have brought him in last night alone.
Open ControlsWell that sucks. Thought only red flags coming off made NTO reset to zero. Silva was only on a yellow... Men woulda liked him to drop to around 9 mil to make him affordable again but guess that dream is over
Open Controls
Which plan is best, and more importantly, why?
PLAN A
GW34: Surman -> Sess (11 STARTERS)
GW35: Kompany -> Collins (2 DGWERS)
GW36: Collins, Valencia & Rooney -> Baines, Bale & Adebayor (4 Point hit) (7 DGWERS)
PLAN B
GW34: Surman -> Sess (11 STARTERS)
GW35: Kompany -> BAE (1 DGWERS)
GW36: Turner, Walcott & Rooney -> Baines, Bale & Adebayor (4 Point hit) (8 DGWERS)
CURRENT TEAM
Mignolet, (BOGDAN)
Kompany, JEvans, Caulker, Turner, (SKRTEL)
Walcott, Valencia, Siggy, Surman, (DEMPSEY)
Rvp, Rooney, (P CISSE)
Bank 3.6m, 2 free transfersOpen ControlsB, because it doesn't involve any villa players 😉
Open Controls
Was seriously considering getting rid of Bale. However after noticing his high scores vs his low scores he seems to do badly against good opposition but does well against poor opposition. I think I will keep as his next opponents are (qpr, BLA, bol, avl, FUL). Spurs will be fighting tooth and nail for a CL spot too.
Open ControlsGood thinking.
Open ControlsQPR seem to have gotten their act together and seem like a decent unit now. 3 Outta those 5 fixtures are away and if you look at Spurs record this year its not a pretty sight especially away from home where they don't score much. I'm not saying Bale is totally useless now but I feel his upside isn't as high as it once was and with better MF options right now shipping him could be the right move.
Open ControlsHe also smacked the underside of the crossbar against Norwich, hit it against Stoke, and Chelsea too.
He's just getting unlucky.Open Controls
Jusrt making sure. They havent updated the rankings properly right? ,i scored 59 and im sitting on a load of red.
Open ControlsAre these BPS predictions correct:
RVP 3
Demps 3
Cisse 3
Walcott 2Open ControlsYup. You should become a member next year though - highly recommended!!
Open Controlsas long as cisse got 3 bps i don't have complain 🙂
Open Controls
I wonder if this is even worth asking...Bale or Mata for the DGW? or both? Also thinking of magically turning Wazza into Kun...thoughts? 😀
Open ControlsBale over Mata
Dont knee jerk just yet... Aguero is just as bad away as Wazza playing CM 😉Open ControlsHaha, it's so hard because of my love for Aguero....and my despair with Rooney all season. It's always a love/hate relationship with him. Well it seems like it will only be bale this time around...United not going hugely on top has put a damper on my Roon>sturridge plans (thank you, Doos)...I may not be able to afford Baines/Mata/Bale now 🙁
Open Controls
Whichever one doesn't play the cup final.
Personally I think all this speculating and planning for the DGW is of little consequence before the semi finals are played, people are planning now with only half the info.Open ControlsCheers Scratch..."Be prepared" is about all I learned as an Eagle Scout. 🙂
Open Controls
Was thinking of bringing in Mata for Theo, but today giving me second thoughts. But then again I probably shouldn't get overly swayed by the fact that he scored against the crappiest team in the EPL. That's what he's supposed to do. Not exactly impressive.
Open ControlsCheers brotha, was also planning something like that...if everything works out I should have a squad sorta like this:
Vorm/Migno
Baines BAE Sagna Caulker Evans
Walcott Bale Dempsey Mata Valencia
RVP Sturridge PappppppII!Cisse
It's what dreams are made of 😉Open ControlsI think mine for 36 will look like:
Krul-2 (Ruddy)
Kelly-2, Caulker, McCauley-2
Dempsey-2, Barfa-2, Bale-2, Mata-2
Roo, RVP, Cisse-2(C)
with Siggy, JEvans, Verm on benchOpen ControlsVery interesting....no Tony V I see? Good punts there!
Open ControlsYeah, I've been surviving w/o Tony V and dodged a couple of FPL Open opponents who had him as one of the big differentials. Barfa carried me through on both of those weeks, thank goodness.
Open ControlsTony V has serious skills, to be sure, but has feasted on the bottom dwellers and they don't have many matches left vs. those teams. Of his double digit returns this season, only 13 vs Arsenal was vs quality opponent. Other big hauls were 12 vs Wolves, 13 vs Wigan, 16 vs Wolves, 13 vs Blackburn. 123 points overall in 19 games where he played >30 mins, but if you take out the 54 from those 4 matches, you are left on 69 points from the other 15 matches, or just over 4 points per match.
Open Controls
In a way, although it damages this gameweek a bit, the Wigan win is a good thing.
Means Sir Alex can't get too cocky too soon and starting resting the likes of Waz.Open ControlsCan't decide- Yak or Weimann?
Weimann has mun, SUN BOL
whereas Yak has swa, NOR and is more nailed on, plus is on pens.Open Controlsfeed the yak
Open ControlsYak Yak Yakity yak yak!
Open ControlsAnd Yakubu will likely get more minutes despite Weimann having an extra game. Yakubu all day.
Open ControlsHmm, I'd back Andreas to pick up all 3 starts.
Open ControlsYakubu will get 180 minutes. Weimann's only completed over 60 minutes twice.
Open ControlsEverybody starts somewhere, he's coming into McSh*ts first team plans, I jumped on McClean after just 1 start and that worked wonderfully for me.
I still will probably end up with the Yak thoughOpen Controls
I'm not against that at all to be honest, I rate QPR and Mackie at the moment, and I brought in Taiwo last week cause I really wanted QPR.
The only problem is Yak has 2 tasty fixtures whereas Mackie only has one (unless Tottenham are becoming tasty)
And if I'm not mistaken, although I probably am, he's playing at RM?Open Controls
I just realised I want Liverpool to beat Everton this weekend and it made me feel dirty 😐
I figure if Pool do progress to the final then they'll field a weakened team against Fulham, making Dempsey a shoe-in. It'd also make Baines a must have in that there'd be nothing to rest him for that week.Open Controls...on the bright side, you just solved my "should I transfer Baines in or not" dilemma! (I don't feel dirty about liverpool losing.) Maybe then they'll get the number one pick in the draft next season (if this was USA 😉 )
Open Controls
And for possibly my third comment in a row.
I'm without City cover. Is it becoming necessary?Open ControlsNo. I only have Kompany atm and shipping him out before the DGW.
Open ControlsIt might be for this week if your can't field 11. Silva and Aguero had 1 good game against bums at home. Lets seehow this weekend goes before we start the wagon again
Open ControlsI've got 10 atm with a free transfer remaining to get 11, but I was planning to use it on a sub 6.3 striker.
Open Controls
Not really, IMHO. Yes they ran up the score at home on a WBA team that has allowed seventh most goals in the EPL. They should have. I wouldn't contort my team to bring it in as there aren't a lot of bargains to be had in there. I'm actually moving out Hart to get dollars to make other swaps.
