Scoutcast discusses Pukki, Leicester and emerging FPL trends

After a long international break, the Scoutcast is back to discuss all the key talking points ahead of Gameweek 9.

You can watch it from 20:00 to 21:00 BST on our YouTube channel, or embedded in the article below.

For Episode 304, Joe is joined by Fantasy Football Scout editor David and special guest Sam Bonfield, one half of the well-known FPL Family.

Currently enjoying a 19k worldwide rank, Sam is a regular on the FPL Show, FPLFYI and the official FPL podcast.

She will be making her debut on the Scoutcast tonight after contributing to articles on Fantasy Football Scout over the last 12 months.

On the show tonight, we will be looking at what has become of Teemu Pukki (£7.1m) in recent weeks, as well as whether Leicester are a team we should be looking at going forward.

Finally, we will also be discussing how best we can pick up emerging trends in Fantasy, to make sure we are ahead of the curve on any upcoming bandwagons.

    WC Team,

    Pope - Gazzaniga
    TAA - Otamendi - Söyüncü - Lundstram - Rico
    Mane - KDB - Maddison - Mount - 4.4
    Auba - Abraham - Vardy

    Any way to improve it?

Great team... I would go 4.5 set and forget keeper and bank the 0.5 personally or even go Cantwell as 5th mid- you have squad depth and cover everywhere

      1. HamezMace
        • 9 Years
        4 years, 6 months ago

Yeah I’m also unsure on the keepers.
I know Spurs are struggling right now, but a 4.4m keeper from a top six team seems too good to pass up. Although they don’t actually rotate that well.
I couldn’t really see where I could invest the extra 0.4m but Cantwell isn’t a bad shout, cheers.

      Looks great mate.

I’m still not convinced on Auba so haven’t gone for him on mine but I totally get the pick.

        Cheers Don.
        Hope you’re doing well.

I just can’t ignore those Arsenal fixtures. I was almost tempted to go for Lacazette, and see if I could squeeze Sterling in for Maddison...but just not sure Lacazette will play regularly.

All good mate. Not had a good start to the season but was going to hold off WC but the temptation got the better of me!

Don’t get me wrong, the ARS fixtures coupled with Auba’s consistent form is very very tempting but with that team around him I can’t expect that consistency to continue

I was going to get Sterling instead of Mané and downgrade one of my keepers to a 4.0m fodder, which I still might do, but I expect Mané to do well over the next few games despite his supposedly tough fixtures.

      Auba > Wilson
      Soy > Robbo

        All good options.
I just can’t pass up Auba with the fixtures, and his form.

        1. Maximus Bonimus Pointimus
          • 14 Years
          4 years, 6 months ago

I’d beware Auba personally Hamez! He’s still a classic troll

His 3 captaincy fixtures this season what does he deliver?

          BUR 6
          AVL 5
          BOU 2

When no one in their right minds would captain him considering the fixtures Liverpool & city had what does he get?

          TOT 9
          wat 13
          man 9

Lacazette is back so we can expect the shuffling across the pitch, Europa League, direct after an IB... he’s just not for me at all....

            • 9 Years
            4 years, 6 months ago

I’d quite like Lacazette actually, but feel of the two Laca is more at risk of reduced minutes.

Maybe I should have just stuck with Kane!

    Evening gents

Trying to decide between these 2 WC options. What do you think?

    A)
    0.2itb
    Pope
    TAA, Soy, Rico
    Salah, KDB, Maddison, Mount
    Aguero, Wilson, Abraham
    (McGovern) (Lunds, Dendo, Kelly)

    B)
    0.5itb
    Pope
    TAA, Soy, Rico, MATIP?
    Salah, KDB, STERLING, Mount
    VARDY, Abraham
    (McGovern) (Lunds, CONNOLLY, Dendo)

    Currently on A but torn!

          Having a strong front three.
Doubt Connolly will play, especially when Trossard returns.

Aguero and Sterling cancel each other out as FPL picks. So you’re looking at Wilson vs Matip, and I favour the attacker every time

    Pope Button
    TAA Otamendi Lund Rico Elmo

I’m suprised more Utd players haven’t picked up “injuries” on international duty than just De Gea

They must be dreading what could lie in store on Sunday

(Very?) Strong possibility of getting hammered in their own back yard, by the worst possible team... with morale already at its lowest point in 30-40 years

    What a shambles

I’d actually say he’s been shocking on several occasions the last 12-14 months - I had a list of all the gaffs he’s dropped, I think it was up to 12 after the one recently

But the point wasn’t really about DDG - more about the collective dread that must envelope the Utd squad as they return to training to face what has the potential to be an absolute train wreck of a result in the history of the club

Romero might do a better job at keeping the goals out

Utd are still inept going forwards

If Allison is back it could get their clean sheet run off to a roll

              For sure

Still can’t decide whether to go double pool defence or attack for the trio of course

                I’m backing TAA, Robbo, Salah

Any 3 from their premium list is gold though - TAA, Robbo, VVD, Mané, Salah

Thoughts on Adams traore as a differential?

What would you do with zinchenko?

I say no, but Traore a great differential for GW8 but doubt he is moving forward. But you never know. Maybe his boss has tapped into a right sided / centre forward late in a match player, to link with Jiménez?

Sell Zinchenko unless Mendy ruled out for sure.

Cheers! Why is Traore only good for this week? Probably will get Maddison but traore and cho look like great differentials.

Who would you get in for zinch? Ota? Soy? Will Alonso keep his place?

      Pukki to someone?

      Pukki to Aubameyang
      Salah to Yarmolenko
      Soyuncu to Ward

      Then we match.

I think your team is better and I sold Pukki and Salah this week and changed plans away from ward to soy

        Isn't Rooney's wife the snitch?

        Vardy's is the mole.

Not 100% strange but the fact he's becoming more of a flat-track bully, and playing lots of 'easier' teams... Shouldn't be ignored.

Stats don't flatter but he's always overperformed.

Instead of asking if Seamus should be a Fantasy Premier League option.......
.....let’s ask should Seamus Coleman even be a Premier League option ?

Or it is his level now championship or league one or Scottish Premier league?

Generally, I try to avoid hits so thoughts welcome on the three options...

    A) 2FTs - Adrian and James > Ryan and Traore (freeing up money for Pukki>Abraham next week BUT a big risk not having Abraham)

    B) 2FTs - James and Pukki > Traore and Abraham (C) however big risk of having no goalkeeper

    C) -4 - Adrian, James and Pukki > Ryan, Traore and Abraham

Traore is obviously a gamble but he's likely to be used sporadically as a 5th mid.

    Soy, Ota, Tomori*
    Salah*, Sterling, KDB, Mount, McGinn*
    Auba, Abraham

    Button, Lund, Rico, Connolly*
