Captain Poll

Fantasy Premier League managers are faced with another tough captaincy decision as Gameweek 12 creeps up on us.

You can now vote in the latest poll (below or in the sidebar), while Joe and David have published a captaincy video on our YouTube channel.

With yet another Friday Night Deadline reducing the turnaround time this week, Manchester City and Liverpool options have largely been taken off the table for the captaincy.

That’s because the two title-hopefuls meet at Anfield on Sunday afternoon and such clashes can often be very off-putting to Fantasy managers.

The meeting of Liverpool and Manchester City could cause problems for the Gameweek 12 captaincy

Manchester City have had some defensive wobbles this season but remain joint-top for clean sheets in the Premier League thus far, level with Sheffield United on five.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are top of the league for points won at home in 2019/20, having won all five matches at Anfield thus far.

Something may have to give there, but predicting would be quite difficult.

Conversely, Liverpool are still yet to record a clean sheet in front of their own fans this season which could leave Manchester City with plenty of chances to break them down.

However, Raheem Sterling (£12.1m) and Kevin de Bruyne (£10.2m) have both blanked in two of their last five Premier League outings… so can they be trusted in a tough to call fixture?

These questions will be running through a few minds, but we expect most of the Fantasy community to look beyond Anfield this weekend.

Vardy has been in tremendous goal-scoring form of late

The ongoing scoring form of Jamie Vardy (£9.4m) is sure to attract plenty of attention.

He has 18 goals in the 20 Premier League matches since Brendan Rodgers took over at Leicester and has blanked just once since Gameweek 7.

This weekend he and his colleagues play host to an Arsenal side that is not exactly in a good place right now.

Amid rifts between the supporters, the manager and his chosen captain Granit Xhaka (£5.2m), now is a good time to face the Gunners.

Vardy himself loves playing Arsenal, scoring eight goals in his last eight league starts against them.

Abraham could be considered for the captaincy this weekend

Some Fantasy managers are turning to Chelsea for Gameweek 12 as they welcome Crystal Palace to Stamford Bridge.

Tammy Abraham (£7.9m) is likely to be the most captained Chelsea option after his 12-point score in Gameweek 11.

However, it will be interesting to see how many will be put off by his superior record away from home this season.

Abraham has 11 attacking returns so far this season but only two of them have been registered at Stamford Bridge.

That said, it must be said that the former Aston Villa loanee has been somewhat unfortunate in front of his own fans so far.

Raúl Jiménez (£7.2m) has also been tipped as an outside bet for the Gameweek 12 captaincy.

The Mexican international has four attacking returns in as many Premier League appearances, while Aston Villa come to Molineux having proved rather obliging at the back this season.

Lessons learned from Gameweek 11

Kun isn’t great away from the Etihad and especially not at Anfield.

Jesus has been favoured of late and might be again if Pep wants to disrupt Liverpool all over the pitch, Kun won’t do nearly as much running.

On a WC with this team currently...

    Gazza/4.0
    TAA/Robbo/Lund/Janmaat/???
    Mane/KDB/Mount/Martial/???
    Vardy/Tammy/???

    Debating this def/mid/fwd combination

    a) Chilwell/Tielemans/Greenwood (Would be benching dilemmas w/Lund)
    b) Tomori/Dendoncker/Jimi (Could rotate the three cheap defs)

    Thoughts?

Thinking of setting my own FPL YouTube channel up.. My 2nd season as a serious FPL player. Currently 25k OR.
Really enjoy the game and feel like I could give sound advice whilst hosting the occasional live stream. I wouldn’t be setting the channel up on my “pedigree” as I’m relatively new. Finished top 20k last season though. What’s the thoughts out there? Would appreciate the feedback!

I think there's a lot of competition...you need something to stand out from the crowd, esp since you haven't been playing as long as others...Id also recommend getting someone to share the load with...watching one person prattle on alone isn't all that exciting, unless its in short bursts.

Passion and interest mainly. I’ve also been watching quite a few channels of seasoned pros and I’ve often disagreed and they all seem to be a lot lower rank than me. Not saying I know it all. Just feel like I could do a good job and it’s something I’d enjoy.. just a thought for now.

Well good luck whatever you decide.

I’d agree you need a USP.

Also wouldn’t pay much attention to lower ranks of seasoned players this season. It’s a v weird season and has been extremely counter logic and reasoning

It is a bit of a saturated market so you will need some kind of angle to make you stand out from the crowd?

Your history and rank would not matter much as long as the show was good and you are just in it for the love of the game and not to make money of gullible suckers.

What channel name do you have in mind btw?

1FT.. keep Wilson for 2 more or no? I would probably get Deulofeu/Ings as that gives me budget to do Martial to Mane.

I could get Jimenez but that would mean I'd have to take out KdB / Sterling to get Salah / Mane in rather than Martial.

Will Mane's red card tonight impact on his availability for Sunday's game against City?

As much as I agree with the son red card being overturned... I'm fuming 🙁 was so confident about playing spurs, even Lund capt was tempting me 😉

Struggling with technology and can't seem to vote for my captain Willian in the poll.

Please help, I'm old and opted for home economics at school instead of technology.

Kun to Jimi (risky yes, but 0.2 swing shortly)
Will give me free reign on CHO to anyone basically before the deadline.

He once told Craig Shakespeare that he felt he wasn't good enough to make it in the Premier League and wanted to become a party rep in Ibiza... He got talked around.

He's just scored 18 goals in his last 20 games under Brendan Rodgers and is the Premier League's top goal scorer. Phenomenal.
