FFS Cup

2019/20 FFS Cups are now open for entry

Fantasy Football Scout are delighted to announce the dates of our Fantasy Premier League cup competitions for the 2019/20 campaign.

We are launching our latest open-to-all tournament, along with a tenth competition for Members only. Both tournaments have £300 in prizes on offer.

Sign-up for the open tournament can be found here.

Members can sign up to both tournaments, via entry forms here and here.

The roll call of former cup winners looks like this: donnellyc, Jonty, Gribude, Goonerdave, Ninja_Fit_Saints, sleeping master, Mch, Wild Rover, Tdubb05 , CMIFLFC, Mark, Leon Harris, A Manager Has No Name, Sleepysi, TH14, 2EyedTurk, Man-Chest-Heir and reigning champion LOKOMOTIV.

As former winners, those listed will gain a bye to the first round of the tournament should they enter with the same username.

In our Members Cup, our list of winners is as follows: Waltzingmatildas, Fuzzy Dunlop, Kippax Kickers Acquafresca, Trigg Ola Svanheld, Malaikat Jahad, rrcmc and the current champion Jay #.

Again, those listed above will gain a bye to the first round proper of the Members Cup should they enter with the username listed.

If you’re new to our cup competitions, read on for an FAQ, offering all the details.

How do the Cup Competitions Work?

The FFS Cup is very similar to the Fantasy Premier League’s own Fantasy Cup game.

Entrants who qualify for the first round will be randomly drawn against each other and the winner of the tie is whoever has the highest score from that Gameweek, minus points spent on transfers (like in the original game and in head-to-head scores).

In the event of a tie, the manager highest in the overall FPL rankings after the tie will progress.

When do they start?

The qualifying round for the Fantasy Football Scout Cup will take place in Gameweek 13, with the first round proper running in Gameweek 14.

Fantasy managers can enter their teams from now right up to 10:30am on Monday November 25, when we’ll stop entries and make the first round draws shortly after.

The qualifying round for the Members Cup will take place week later in Gameweek 14, with the first round running in Gameweek 16.

Fantasy managers can enter their teams from now right up to 10.30am on Monday December 2, when we’ll stop entries and make the first round draws shortly after.

Previous winners must enter with the same usernames listed above to gain their bye.

Entrants must have registered their teams in Fantasy Premier League ahead of Gameweek 1.

How do I enter?

Enter the open-to-all FFS Cup via the entry form here.

Enter the FFS Members Cup via the entry form here. This form is only visible to Members and you will need to log into the Members’ area to view the form.

You will be sent a confirmation email to verify your entry and you’ll be asked to confirm your FPL team ID at the point of entry – you may need to remove an erroneous ‘a’ from the link before clicking to verify your team ID. If your FPL team is incorrectly entered, we cannot amend this at a later date.

Your entry is only completed once you have confirmed your FPL team ID as part of the process.

To check that you’re entered correctly, please scan the list of entries.

The open-to-all FFS Cup list is here.

The Members FFS Cup list is here.

How do I find my FPL team ID?

Your FPL ID is your unique ID for your FPL team. This is found via your Gameweek History page – the link to which is found in the right-hand menu under your FPL team strip. When you visit your Gameweek History you will see a number in the URL (as opposed to the XXX below).

https://fantasy.premierleague.com/entry/XXX/history

Place this 1-7 digit number, or your Gameweek History URL, in the FPL ID field on the entry form.

When will I find out if I’ve qualified?

Results from the Fantasy Football Scout Cup qualifying round will be published shortly after November 25 and then weekly, after the completion of each Gameweek, from that point on.

Results from the Members Cup qualifying round will be published shortly after December 2 and then weekly, after the completion of each Gameweek, from that point on.

Do I have to enter if I’m a previous winner?

Yes, because your FPL team ID will have changed so we will need to record your entry again. As a previous winner, you will be given a bye to the first round proper.

Do I need to be registered with Fantasy Football Scout?

We ask you to supply a Fantasy Football Scout username so we can feature you, as a member of our community, in any articles associated with the tournament.

Ideally, you will already have a username with us, but this is not essential to enter.

You must, however, supply a username for the purpose of the tournament so you can be identified in articles.

You must not change this username throughout the course of the tournament. Should you do so without permission, should you enter multiple teams, or if your FFS account comes under moderation for any reason, we reserve the right to remove you from a tournament at any stage.

I would say Rico is fairly nailed now. I wouldn't worry about him even if there is a little risk of rotation, it's hard to find a set piece taker defender regardless of price.

Madness considering Ozil as a two weeks punt? Southampton and Norwich, can’t get better than that.

Can someone supply the link for that site where you can entertain your team ID and it tracks things like missed captain points, total points you would have scored using optimal formation each week, etc.?

        Some Christmas rules:
        1) If you load your defenders with attacking/wing backs, make sure you have a good bench to covet their rest.
        2) Avoid taking on players you are not sure are nailed. Pulisic/CHO a good example.
        3) Look at the days break each team has. 2 days to 3 days is huge this time of the year.
        4) Take less notice of the pressers. Good for sure fire injuries, but take the rest with a pinch of salt.
        5) No more than 2 premium players to invest in. You will need value coming from the bench.
6)Home games are a bigger advantage this time of year. More so than the fixture. Choose players who have majority home games.
        7) Don't hold on to value. Losing money is less serious than losing points.

Anyone want to add to the list or disagree with the above.

My advice is to not get too hung up on having a good bench. Rotation will happen but your players will come on for the last 20 minutes and your subs will be useless anyway. Not saying don’t have a bench, but don’t prioritise bringing in bench players whilst ignoring changes that need to be made in the starting 11 and don’t take hits to improve your bench

I have had more benchers play in the 1st 12 weeks than the sum total of last year. (Excluding bench boost0

I agree with this. Point 5 hint towards less premium and more firepower on the bench. I've very rarely had to use my three subs

What I am saying is have cover directly related with price and position on the bench.
I have McGinn as 8th forward because it is inevitable 50% of the time a player over this period will be rotatedEach to their own but I have already discovered rotation is more rife this year than last and the "busy period" is arriving.

Each to their own, different strategies are what makes the game fun. I just remember people benching Digne and Anderson when they scored braces last year and Jimenez when he scored a goal and assist because their squads were too good. Can see the same happening this year with the likes of Tomori, Lundstram and Soyuncu being benched. And then the week that the bench does come into play, you need a big score from players you’ve predicted to do less well than the ones you’ve started, because even if they score 5-6 points and everyone else gets 0-1, their more expensive starting 11 will make up for it in other weeks. Just my thoughts. I still intend on at least 2 playing subs but won’t prioritise them.

I am currently sitting with this team going into GW13. Will just be praying that Salah is ok and CHE find a way of holding MCI back!

        0FT 1.3itb
        Pope
        TAA, Lunds, Soy
        Salah, Mané, Maddison, Mount
        Vardy (C), Jimi, Abraham
        (McGovern) (Willems, Rico, Dendo)

A potential plan after this week if I’m too scared to stay without MCI but want to keep Salah/ Mané is to do:
Jimi, Mount > Greenwood, KDB and switch to a 4-4-2.

What do you think to my scary team for this week and potential plan you fine people?

        Cheers!

This is pretty much my team, except I have KDB, and you have Vardy (Also Martial for your mount).

Can't have them all! I wouldnt be looking to move Jimi out, he is super value.

Def agree you can’t have them all. It’s mostly the risk re Salah and not having any MCI but maybe it’ll pay off over next few!

At least Salah/ Mané allows for an easy switch to Sterling if it becomes necessary again.

Chelsea's fixtures till GW19 are extra juicy. I might just go with the attacking triple up of Tammy, Pulisic and Willian from 14-19.

Has the fixture ticker not been updated in a while? Why is Sheffield at home for Wolves deemed easier than West Ham?

I don't like Martial because he has to do so much to get bonus. Son nailed and explosive but in a struggling spurs team. Think it's Pulisic for me!

Not if you bought Mount around 6.2 . Pulisic is coming late from.intl and considering Mount versatility and passing skills he is most nailed in that 3 behind Tammy

16 year old Harvey Elliott end up being suspended for more games for mocking Harry Kane than Bernardo Silva has for his casual racism. Worth noting that the FA had given an initial deadline of 31st Oct for the outcome, but instead waited for City and Bernardo to play their biggest game of the season.

If the FA don't take racism seriously, players and fans won't either.

Have 1FT and 2.7m ITB. Assuming all are fit, how do I best spend it?

        Pope Button
        TAA Soy Lundstram Tomori Montoya
        Salah KDB Madders Mount Hayden
        Vardy Abraham Jimenez

        A) Montoya -> Robertson (Double liverpool def, double benching of Soy and Tomori most weeks)
        B) KDB -> Mané (Double liverpool attack, no city)
        C) Mount -> Pulisic, leaving 1.9 ITB for something like Pope -> Alison or Soy -> Pereira/Chilwell
        D) Save, then Montoya + Mount -> Rico + Son
