Mount back in the Chelsea starting XI as Willian drops to the bench

Four Premier League matches kick off at 3pm GMT this afternoon, with league leaders Liverpool among the teams in action.

Following Manchester City’s 2-2 draw with Newcastle United in the lunchtime game, the Reds can extend the gap between themselves and Pep Guardiola’s side to 11 points with a victory over Brighton and Hove Albion.

Jurgen Klopp hasn’t taken any chances with his starting XI, naming about as a strong a team as possible for the visit of Graham Potter’s side.

Fabinho is both suspended and injured for this encounter, with the Brazilian’s place taken by Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian’s return sees Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain move back into the centre of midfield.

There are no real shocks elsewhere, with Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Andrew Robertson and Virgil van Dijk all making Klopp’s starting XI.

Potter has made four changes to the Seagulls’ team, recalling Lewis Dunk (back from suspension), Yves Bissouma, Pascal Gross and the fit-again Aaron Connolly.

Shane Duffy, Solly March, Leandro Trossard and, perhaps most surprisingly, Neal Maupay drop out.

Mason Mount returns to the Chelsea starting XI for the visit of West Ham United, meanwhile.

Pedro and Olivier Giroud also come into the side, with Willian and the injured Tammy Abraham the men to make way.

Roberto has finally paid the price for his iffy displays and has been replaced by David Martin for the visitors, with Fabian Balbuena in for the suspended Issa Diop.

Michail Antonio looks to be leading the line, with Sebastien Haller benched.

Lucas Moura has been dropped by Jose Mourinho for Spurs’ match against Bournemouth.

Tanguy Ndombele, Moussa Sissoko and Jan Vertonghen come into the team, with Danny Rose and Harry Winks making way.

Eddie Howe makes four changes from the side that lost to Wolves.

Simon Francis and Philip Billing are both suspended, while Harry Wilson and Adam Smith drop out. Dominic Solanke, Jefferson Lerma, Arnaut Danjuma Groeneveld and Jack Stacey all start.

Burnley are forced into one alteration from the side that beat Watford.

Robbie Brady comes into midfield for the suspended Ashley Westwood.

Roy Hodgson’s changes are both enforced.

Joel Ward and Gary Cahill are both out with knee injuries, so Martin Kelly and Scott Dann step in.

Would Son still be the better pick going forward over Alli? (I didn't get a chance to watch the game)

Both looked good, Alli looked very dangerous though

Both were very far forward, more often than not in front of Kane. No way would I double up right now but it opened that window...

probably a Jose tactic, one week Kane is target man so the next team expect that, then next week Alli and Son are the ones basically up front to rattle and confuse the defence. Even in game you can easily switch it arond back and fourth withot Mou's intervention.

        This is a bad analogy, but I play this old command and conquer game (generals, zero hour). One of the most effective strats deployed in it is;
You start the game and make air units which they arent expecting, this forces them into anti air unit production. As soon as they get heavy with the anti air bring a hard ground army. Then when they go anti ground go hard air again or a combo of both. Its a killer strat and in that game its highly succesful. I think its comparable to setting up a team to defend vs Kane, then the game starts and its not Kane you need to be worrying about but the others. And if they respond to that then Spurs should be fluid enough to adapt to that in game. I hope that makes sense lol

I think it’ll depend on the opposition but clearly they aren’t playing one up any more which is great. Made them very one dimensional. C&C is a classic in all forms.

2 of the 3 players I got in have performed (1 is yet to play), but just the fact that I have to lose 8 points hurts

Yeah but as long as the moves are a long term one & they perform later. It would be worth it in the end

Anyone know why Pieters came on? Injury or tactical? Obviously wasn't to protect a lead.
