With just four Gameweeks left of the season, Fantasy managers are looking at every viable option available as a means to climb up the rankings and win that crucial mini-league title. Many will be throwing caution to the wind at this point in order to claw back their rivals’ leads and, with plenty of double Gameweeks on the horizon, even Aston Villa’s assets are coming under scrutiny.

Let’s face it – the midlands outfit have hardly been the most potent of Fantasy sides this term. The fact that Gabby Agbonlahor is still their top scoring player despite returning a single assist since Gameweek 11 speaks volumes for their insipid season. As the likes of Wigan have recently shown, however, there’s potential near the bottom of the table as teams scrap for survival and, with two home clashes in Gameweek 35, Villa are blinking – albeit briefly – on Fantasy managers’ radars ahead of the weekend’s schedule.

The hunt for options amongst the midlands squad leads us to James Collins. A look at his recent home performances highlights the fact that the Villa centre-half has returned at least six points in two of his last three at Villa Park – a clean sheet against Fulham and a goal against Chelsea. While Villa may have shipped four at United last weekend, they’ll be more optimistic heading into their games against Sunderland and Bolton – Martin O’Neill’s side have failed to score in their last three, while Bolton have been almost as poor in attack, with no goals in their previous two matches.

So far this week, over 10,000 Fantasy managers have taken a punt on the 5.3 priced defender, an indication of the faith held in his potential. Collins’ game also seems suited to the EA SPORTS PPI scoring system; he’s picked up a total of 12 bonus points over the course of the campaign – only six defenders have earned more this term.

With regular sidekick Richard Dunne still out with a collarbone injury, Collins’ resilience and will-to-win in the heart of the Villains backline will be key over these next crucial two matches. McLeish will be more than aware that back-to-back victories would all but clinch their survival and somewhat endear him to the home faithful, thus relieving the pressure ahead of their remaining three fixtures (wba, TOT, nor).

Ok guys I've taken my four point hit and I'm now in a really tricky position for who to play:

    Currently got:

    Mignolet
    Simpson J Evans Caulker Vermaelen
    Valencia HBA Sigurdsson
    Rooney Aguero(c) RVP(vc)

    Kenny Bale BAE Moses

Should I have one of the TOT players in instead of Caulker? Or Sigurdsson? I've not really had this problem before so not sure who to go with!

Bale and BAE > Siggurdson and Caulker.

Surely you can't be thinking of benching Bale for Caulker...

        And the defenders;

    Need a bit of advice...

I'm currently 15 points clear in my mini league, after being nearly 200 points behind a couple of months ago.

My nearest rival has RVP and Rooney, who I also have, and has been rotating the armband between them for most of the season.

My question is, I was going to captain Aguero this week and at the moment he has not made any transfers so is likely to captain Rooney or RVP, probably Rooney. Should I taking the punt on Aguero or possibly another of my differentials, Walcott, or captain the same player I think he's likely to, Rooney, just incase he has an amazing week and it puts me behind him again?

    Any help would be great.

Younès Kaboul (born 4 January 1986) is a French footballer who currently plays as a centre back for Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur. He can also play at right back or in defensive midfield.
Kaboul began his career at Auxerre and was a regular for the club by 2006.
He then later signed for Tottenham Hotspur on 5 July 2007, for an undisclosed fee believed to be around £8 million. On 11 August 2008, Kaboul joined Portsmouth on a four-year contract, for an undisclosed fee, believed to be around £6 million. On 30 January 2010, Tottenham Hotspur announced that Kaboul would be rejoining the club for an undisclosed fee, reported to be £9.5 million.

      Thats pretty much it.

    Mig/Sorenson
    Verm/Kompany/Evans/Caulker/Kelly
    Walcott/Bale/Valencia/Siggy/McClean
    RVP/Rooney/Cisse

94 points clear in my ML, 1 FT and 3.1 in the bank.

I don’t need to anything too stupid, but I think I can do a 4 point hit without it doing too much damage.

My thoughts are to get rid of Walcott for Dempsey and then get rid of Sorenson. Regardless of what Pulis says, I don’t trust him and he’d more than likely rotate him and Begovic for the two games.

So should I just get in Bogdan who has the DDGW, or maybe go for someone slightly more expensive, like Friedel or Cech (who I’d bench this GW)?

    Thoughts?

Has anyone gave 1 good reason to get Tevez over Aguero? I really can't see it personally. I'm probably not doing the transfer but surely you get Aguero. He is cheaper, he has the penalties, he stays further up front, he is far more match fit, he's unlikely to be dumped from the first team if United seal the title...

"More of a differential" is not an acceptable reason.

ha...just posted about that below. These are the strong posts i need IT!
I do think Aguero is the better bet of the two, but question is whether he's worth it at all. Seems strange to use a transfer up given he's got utd next week, whereas there are lots of dbl GW options.
That said, wolves are terrible and he could get you 15 points, meaning the 4 you spend next week is irrelevant.

Your rank doesn't mean you know who will take a Man City penalty ... that's a ludicrous statement.

Tevez was on the pitch here http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17363120 and Aguero took the penalty.

I say Aguero takes a penalty if they are both on the pitch.

This week alone, Rooney vs Aguero (-4) seems to be your dilemna.

Rooney at home, Aguero away to a poor wolves team ... he still has to score an extra goal than Rooney though - I wouldn't do it.

Gah, just gah. 5th in league and the big rival chasing me down has Aguero. Those ahead of me by twenty-odd points have Rooney instead.

Is it worth the 4-point hit to get Tev/Aggy in for Roonpig and Dempo in for Theo if I currently have the following attackers:

      Valencia Silva Walcott Sigg McClean
      RVP Roon Cisse

Ordinarily might just do the Dempsey but tempted by a roll of the dice, especially as it's City who are at home next week.
