Gameweek 35 kicks off with a game between third-placed Arsenal and sixth-placed Chelsea. Champions League qualification (and all the money it brings) is at stake, and the Dugout Discussion opens to see how it plays out. The line-ups from the early game have been released, and are as follows…

Arsenal XI: Szczesny, Sagna, Koscielny, Vermaelen, Gibbs, Ramsey, Song, Walcott, Rosicky, Oxlade-Chamberlain, van Persie.

Chelsea XI: Cech, Bosingwa, Cahill, Terry, Bertrand, Essien, Romeu, Malouda, Sturridge, Torres, Kalou.

From the defeat at the hands of struggling Wigan there are four casualties, with Johan Djourou, Andre Santos, Mikel Areta and Yossi Benayoun all out of the eleven. In comes Laurent Koscielny, Kieran Gibbs, Aaron Ramsey and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Juggling his priorities, Roberto Di Matteo makes eight (8) changes ahead of the second leg Champions League semi-final against Barcelona. Petr Cech, John Terry and Gary Cahill are the only survivors from the first leg.

After the game at the Emirates we’ve got five 3pm fixtures to enjoy, before the day’s football concludes at Loftus Road for the game between QPR and Tottenham.

The Dugout Discussion chatroom will be open for the entirety of today’s action, and can be accessed right here.

    Too early to boast?

    12pt hit

    McClean to Petrov
    Yakubu to Cisse
    RVP to Aguero
Baines to BAE (had very little choice about that one)

      Pow 😉

But yes, it is too early to boast, Yakubu could score a couple, McClean could get a few points, Aguero could also get a 1 pointer, and BAE could concede.

But apart from all those risks, it looks like Cisse will pay off the hit by himself

What a start! Simon Mignolet in the Sunderland goal was sold short by a back pass and Gabriel Agbonlahor almost made the Black Cats pay!!
Agbonlahor wide on the left, cuts inside and shoots! Good block to concede a corner.
Corner is played out wide to Marc Albrighton. Swings it in to the back post and it JUST eludes the lurking Agbonlahor!

It's been a great start from Villa! Agbonlahor has come close on three occasions already!

I Feel warm, there must be a goal upcoming!!! U'll all see!!! He is having a great game!!!

    ***NEW DISCUSSION***

Hi guy’s, I don’t post very often but I have got to ask!

Are people seriously considering transferring RVP (penalties, corners, free kicks, highest points scored, nailed on & guaranteed to play 90 minutes) out next week for a DGW player when he’s playing away to a Stoke team who haven’t kept a clean sheet in 7 games?

    But have instead decided…

To keep Tevez, who hasn’t played 90 minutes all season, slight rotation risk & appears to have lost set piece duty. Do people actually prefer him to outscore RVP at home against a Manchester United team that have only conceded 1 goal in the last 7 games?

A strategy that seems to have helped me a lot when playing FPL is approaching fixtures with the mind-sets “Would I put ‘money’ on player A to outscore player B” in regards to transfers & “how involved will player A be in win over player B” in regards to team victories.

By no means am I clairvoyant, I completely understand the whole ‘form vs. fixtures’ rational but I’m still not convinced that this alone is enough to justify the move, It appears to be slightly knee jerky so I felt it was worthy of discussion.

    All thoughts are appreciated

All depends on what your individual situation is / if you need to take some gambles.

RVP looked tired to me today, but I'm keeping him.

did think about it, but am keeping RvP, as a United fan, more than anything I can't bring myself to want Tevez to score.

It will not be another 6-1. I may get Rooney back in 37, but with Jelavic playing Wolves, RvP v Norwich and Cisse in the form he's in I'm not sure at this point

It is very knee jerky, thats how this community works 😉

But with Arteta and Walcott out, RVP's service will be poorer, Arteta has been fairly key to Arsenal.

Tevez has form, and seems likely to play, whether he's a good bet against united, who knows?

You could easily say "are people seriously considering keeping RVP who has scored 1 goal (a penalty) in the last 7 games?"
Tevez is on form, unfortunately RVP isn't.

I know what you're saying mate, I did point out that I understood the whole argument about 'form vs. fixtures'. I just felt it wasn't enough to justify such significant move.

Let's bear in mind the games in which Tevez have scored in were WBA at home & Norwich away; I’d expect any Man City striker to score well in those fixtures.

Don’t you think these were more to do with fixtures than form? I could be wrong

Stoke have conceded just 3 goals in their last 5 PL home games. They play very compact against big teams at home. The game against Man Utd is a must win and could be a high scoring game.
I'm keeping RVP though. I like his fixtures till the end.

Why did I wait so long to get Dave in.

Can't believe one of my rivals left him on the bench and captained RVP!

      good lad Daniel

He is my vc, had the c on him until I brought Tevez in, still happy with my choice, rivals don't own either Cisse or Tevez so I'm win win.

Standard for a hamstring injury, out for the season. And lack of fitness for the Euro's.

So I went to the Trinity Ball last night and got ridiculously drunk with my friends. All good except I didn't do my transfers last night. Didn't pick my team, don't know who I captained or who I left on the bench. Think I'm just going to hide behind the couch for this weekend.
