Members Articles Unlocked ahead of Gameweek 25

Fantasy Football Scout will be running a Members Articles Unlocked series this week as we build up to Gameweek 25.

That means that all Members articles produced between now and Friday January 31 are FREE for everyone to view without restrictions.

These articles use data from the Members Area in a much more concentrated sense than usual pieces of content.

For example, we recently considered Roberto Firmino‘s (£9.5m) points potential for Double Gameweek 24.

We have now made this article free to the public to help any interested in Members Articles Unlocked to get an early taste.

Following his winning goal against Wolves last week, our article on Firmino can be VIEWED HERE.

This promotion will be running between Monday January 27 and Friday January 31 with every Members article during this period FREE to everyone.

If you enjoy what you read then don’t forget to sign up either on a discounted membership or monthly package.

Time to wildcard? Interested to hear for those who activated it what was the main reason and for those who haven't, what are your plans and is leaving it to the doubles/blank around GW36 too late to get maximum benefit from it?

I only like 4 of my players (Jack, Salah, Kevin and TAA) and considering it but have 2 FT so doesn't seem the best time.

My two main reasons not to are:
      A) No one I really want to bring in, even if I don't love my current side
      B) Want to save for future DGW/BGW

Same question for me. Is it worth leaving the DGW later on the season. I feel you can navigate DGW a few weeks ahead, without too much bother. Did it with this DGW 24 no bother.

With all the domestic cup/ Euro games coming up. Players not affected as much from teams like Watford/Everton/ SU might do ok.

After telling people here last week not too WC and being pretty sure that Vardy will be fit I pulled the trigger myself on Saturday.
Team wasn't going anywhere anyway so just found myself fixing everything that I wanted too.
Looks like big blank GW31 can be covered by Freehit and the rest with a little planning (Crellin of this opinion too).
Big DGW is right at the end so not so much to be gained from holding.

I only had 1 player all season (Pope), but have gone for McC+1 on WC (still Pope at the minute, but will probably change) - can afford it and saves worrying about it later for BB.

11k in rank, but more importantly only 20 points ahead in ML, with a very similar team to my mail rival. Would you then WC, try to get a decent lead and then control-matters from there. Let him take the risks.

I've activated mine this week. Injury doubts over Mane, Vardy and Tammy; no playing keeper (Gaz+Button) plus a lot of dead wood now particularly in defence that I wanted to change (Rico, Kelly, Soy, maybe Lund). There are 13 gameweeks of the season left and I'd hope that the wildcard now would improve my points score at least over the next 6 of them. I can FH to avoid the worst blank GW (31?) and while I may not be able to maximise a BB, I'm not sure that's a tactic that has often paid off enough to balance out the benefits my team will get now.

I activated it this week. In the end, I only retained 6 players who played the previous game week. Few reasons were

      1) Injury doubts - Vardy, Mane, Sarr.
      2) I didn't like my defense at all - Rico, Kelly and Lundstram. I have serious doubts about the latter two keeping their place in the coming games.
      3) Currently ~400k in overall rank and lagging behind in my ML. If I waited too long it might be too late to push or too late to make a difference. I still have all my other chips left though.

In the end, the players who stayed in my team were KdB, TAA, Ings, Martial and the GK duo of Henderson and McCarthy.

Would have been alright taking a -4, but would have been left with a few players that I wasn't that keen on keeping. Hit the wildcard and will play an early BB and then just work with free transfers and hits if need be over the double gameweeks.

Just read the unlocked members article. As a non member it was an insight to what I've been missing. Extremely detailed, maybe too much for me. In the end I skipped ahead and focused on the conclusion. Figures they'd choose the firminio piece as it proves their point, and why not? Be interesting to see who does better against West ham, firminio or salad.

In a similar bind - just not on WC 🙂

Kun back to Vardy perhaps? Might even give Perez a go too.

Yup those two are top of my watch list. Maddison over Perez maybe.

This is the reason im not too worried about the SHU & AVL blank.
Because if they do then Leicester have the best run of fixtures from GW28 onwards and it makes the transfers decision very easy.

Problem is what do with Kun if Leicester also blank.

Hard to say - this is where it gets fun

The big blank in 31,will also be a factor by 28 and well soon have info overload about that.

I’m pretty certain I’ll be negotiating my way through that and trying to save FH for 34 which could be BGW DGW.

It will be tough to navigate the GW31 blank without a Free Hit though.

Looks likely there will be atleast 5-6 blanks and we'll only get know about the confirmed fixtures in the midweek between GW28 & 29 if im not wrong.

That would leave us with 3 transfers to sort our teams out for GW31.

    0.2 ITB, 1 FT.

    Ryan
    TAA, Holgate, Kelly
    Salah, Mane*, KDB, Grealish
    Aguero, Ings, DCL

    (Woodman, Lundstram, Traore, Simpson).

    A) Mane -> Son (then Lundstram -> VVD next GW)
    B) Mane & Holgate -> Son & VVD (-4)
    C) Mane & Lundstram -> Son & VVD (-4)

Time for Lundstram to go despite fixtures? Holgate seems nailed and surprisingly getting in some attacking positions, and I can only get VVD in for him with a hit which I dont fancy.

This. TAA and Robertson will give a very nice 'security blanket' over the next few months.

A lot of the cheaper defenders' places are now at risk (Lundstram, Kelly, Rico etc).

I'm already a Robertson/TAA/Mane owner and think I'd stick to double defence if I had the chance again.

If you have the extra cash go Robbo.

I'm not sure they really have - he played vs Liverpool & City & then missed Newcastle & the first West Ham game so they were always going to look better in those two games anyways

Also played v Burnley, although I get our point.

He just missed a penalty in that game - 8 or 9 point swing with baps

    Couple of questions:
    A) If Leicester/Villa win tomorrow is GW 28 blank confirmed for them?

    B) Southampton or Newcastle defender?

    Thanks

Yes, blank for winner and their opponent

      Southampton defender

      A. League Cup Final GW28 so whoever is in that will definitely blank.
      B. Newc if you need them to play this weekend. Actually Soton and Newc rotate very nicely until the end opf the year if you can get both.

    How’s my WC team looking?

    Henderson
    TAA,Lascelles,O’Connell
    Salah,KDB,Grealish,Mahrez
    Auba,Firmino,Deeney

    McGovern,Fleck,Williams,Tanganga

Playing Lascellas every week may not be a good idea.

Fleck to Douglas and Tanganga to Stephens.

      Just hope Leicester win!

Auba KdB Mahrez Henderson O’Connell Fleck and Grealish at risk in 28. That’s 7 out potentially

Tanganga probably dropped for good and Williams imo uncertain as well. Would get something else for Tanganga

Thinking about it. Burnley's display against Utd putting me off a little tbh.

If lund is nailed he is too good to sell. Else O Connell has decent threat too. If you have decent cover might as well keep lunds for few weeks and see.
