Captain Poll

Vote in the Blank Gameweek 28 captain poll

Liverpool options dominate the captain poll once again as Blank Gameweek 28 rolls around.

You can now cast your vote below or on the sidebar of the website.

Fresh from scoring in the 3-2 win over West Ham, Mohamed Salah (£12.8m) has raced into another early lead, already earning the support of 44.6%.

Upcoming opponents Watford have let their guard down a little since the new-manager-bounce of Nigel Pearson wore off.

In their last four matches, the Hornets have conceded at least two goals on three occasions, while Liverpool and Salah are in the scoring mood.

The Egyptian has found the net four times since Gameweek 24, more than any of his colleagues.

However, Sadio Mané (£12.3m), who netted against West Ham and could have scored a double-figure haul were it not for VAR, is also in the armband discussion.

The Senegalese international has more away goals in the league than Salah this season and has registered back-to-back strikes since returning from injury in Gameweek 26.

That has earned Mané 12.1% backing in the captain poll, good enough for third place so far.

However, Jamie Vardy (£9.7m) is the man to take up second place so far, as Leicester prepare to face Norwich.

Admittedly, the centre-forward has now blanked in each of his last five matches, but his backers appear to be encouraged by the prospect of the Canaries’ defence.

Despite some recent improvements Daniel Farke’s men were brushed aside 3-0 by Wolves in Gameweek 27, suggesting they could be just as obliging against Leicester.

Interesting differentials at this point include Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.7m), who still hasn’t blanked in a league match he started since Gameweek 13, while Harvey Barnes (£6.0m), despite his Gameweek 27 benching, could be the most likely to score for Leicester at Carrow Road.

I'm so sick of my GK pick, Ryan. He's got CRY at home this week, but should I just bite the bullet and pay the -4 to replace him? I had planned to replace him next GW, but each time I don't do it early and my rivals pick up 9 for Pope or more for Schmeichel I kick myself. Should I stick to the plan and give him this last week?

I got him for weeks as well now, its disappointing... I will hold one more week as its against Palace at home - dont see a better chance to get a cs if its not against them.

I took a hit for McCarthy a while ago. Not a big success but still better than Ryan and has already paid that -4 back. You'll never have an extra FT to replace him so live a little.

Would you rather have Fernandes + Nketiah or Barnes + DCL?

    Salah Mane KDB Grealish Traore
    Jimenez Ings Maupay

Grealish > Barnes this week to cover perfectly and have Leicester cover, but includes a bit of benching headache in future.
First option would mean playing Holgate or taking a hit to get it done.

Thinking of bringing in Vardy for Aguero this week. I want Auba next week so thinking Grealish & Inges -> Saka & Auba next week.

Not too sure in Saka though :/ what do you think? Would give me 9 playing this week plus Williams as a maybe.

    Next week will leave me:

    Hendo
    Robbo - TAA - Stephens
    Salah - KDB - Martial - Saka - Fleck
    Vardy - Auba

    Button, Taylor, Williams, greenwood

Pretty much bottomed previous page, thought I would post it again should anyone be interested.
    --------------------------

Just did a analysis for a set of GW's I never had KDB or any City.

Just to note, these are GW's I owned no City at all.

So the GW's I was Cityless was from 12 up to 18 as follows. (I am also adding data of KDB's 'the rank killer' points for each GW as well as hits value)

In order of GW, points, hits value, rank and then KDB points

    12 - 82 - (-4) - 297k - 2
    13 - 88 - (-4) - 262k - 7
    14 - 55 - (-4) - 266k - 10
    15 - 62 - (0) - 237k - 3
    16 - 72 - (0) - 169k - 1
    17 - 65 - (0) - 155k - 19
    18 - 34 - (0) - 231k - 4

My massive rank drop GW18 was not because of having no City, more just a bad day at the office for my team.

At this point I am sitting at 102k having dropped from 66k.

Now I have shipped KDB again this week, obviously can always get him back by GW33. He has 2 blanks and 3 tricky fixtures in the next 5. So hopefully his replacment, Bruno Fernandes will keep on hauling.

It surely cannot be 'season ending' stuff going without City assets. Scaremongering is what makes one believe that.

What about DGW29 if you have Auba instead of KDB.

Anyone doubling or tripling up City are taking risk knowing rotation and blanks are not out of the question.

KDB's does nothing for you either with him on the bench in the next 5.

Much of a muchness ain't it.

Help needed, a little bit lost with next moves...

    2FT £0.9 ITB

    McCarthy
    Williams / Robbo / TAA / Lascelles / Kelly*
    Alli* / Salah
    Jimenez / Vardy / Ings

Woodman / Dendoncker / De Bruyne* / Grealish*

Which one should i prioritise, current strategy thinking is prepare BGW31 with FTs and then WC GW32, but if Liverpool goes through the FA Cup i might FH GW31. Also a little bit lost if Alli was dropped in the last game due to a rest, tactical reason or if he will now be on the bench due to that substitution incident:

    1) Kelly -> Saiss / Boly (currently favouring Saiss due to budget reasons, seems the safest move until we know more about possible DGW29 and FA Cup results)

    2) De Bruyne + Kelly -> Maddison + Pereira (seems to be the move with the biggest upside in the next 3 GWs due to Leicester run of fixtures)

    3) Grealish + Kelly -> Barnes / Perez + Soyuncu (i'm not sure about neither of Barnes / Perez due to most of their goal involvements without Vardy on the team and they can always stick to wingback formation while Ndidi is out)

    4) De Bruyne + Grealish -> Maddison + Richarlison (Maddison for next 3 fixtures and Richarlison due to OOP and BGW31)

    5) Grealish -> Sarr / Doucure / H Wilson / Traore / McNeill (in order to prepare for BGW31)

    6) Alli -> Martial / Fernandes (Man Utd midfielder will be very popular in the end of the season due their good run of fixtures)

    Cheers

Fighting for their lives at home maybe. But as I reminded a poster earlier today, all of these 5 teams failed to register a goal away from home this last weekend: Bou, Wat, Villa, New, Nor. Lack of goals is a real problem that they have.

    Any Sidibe replacement ideas?
My back crew is Pope, Trent, Soyuncu, Lascelles, Kelly, [Sidibe].
Thinking about Saiss but not sure if he is nailed.

Looks like it - Dendo seems to be general purpose mid/def cover now.

In that case, yeah Saiss, Boly or Evans.

    Kevin to Armstrong
    Connolly to Jimenez
    Stevens to Van Dijk

    -4pts, worth it?

Surely third pool spot belongs to third pool attacker assuming you already have TAA.

Cant afford Mane by any means, otherwise it would have been no brainer 😀

What mid could you get for KDB if you just sold him and Connolly to Jimenez, no hit?

        6.7m mid

Traore, McNeill, Barnes or stick with Armstrong and bank the savings. If you can make 11 for GW28 don't drop 4 points.
