Steven Gerrard is back for Liverpool this weekend. Charlie Adam is out for the season, though, as are Seb Larsson and Kieran Richardson for Sunderland. Younes Kaboul and Emmanuel Adebayor may be back this weekend for Spurs, while Owen Coyle has plenty of injury worries ahead of Bolton’s second double Gameweek in a row:

Liverpool have revealed that Steven Gerrard is set for a return to action ahead of their double Gameweek. The Reds skipper missed out in last weekend’s home loss to West Brom as a precautionary measure, with Kenny Dalglish confirming today the midfielder has trained all week and is “fineâ€. With a trip to Norwich and a home clash against Fulham up next, Gerrard has the potential to produce despite his side’s poor form – his previous double Gameweek 28 returned 22 points. Given that the FA Cup Final against Chelsea is four days after the Cottagers’ game, he should be afforded enough time to recuperate if he plays both league matches, though his chances much depend on Dalglish’s rotation thoughts, as the Merseyside club look to pick up their second piece of silverware this season.

Charlie Adam won’t be taking part, though. Liverpool confirmed earlier this morning that the former Blackpool man is out for the season with a knee problem. Adam picked up the injury in the Gameweek 29 loss at QPR and was subbed off at half-time; although he won’t require an operation, the Scot will take no further part in his side’s campaign.

Reports suggest Younes Kaboul could be in line for a shock return to the Spurs team as early as this Sunday. Although Harry Redknapp all but ruled the centre-half out for the season only yesterday, Kaboul is winning his battle to overcome a knee problem ahead of the double Gameweek matches against Blackburn and Bolton. Despite earlier reports of a fall-out with Redknapp, Emmanuel Adebayor is expected to return after missing out with a hamstring problem at QPR last week, though Benoit Assou-Ekotto remains a significant doubt after sustaining a shoulder injury – Danny Rose is expected to step up in his absence.

Seb Larsson and Kieran Richardson have both been ruled out for the season by Sunderland. Larsson has undergone minor surgery to alleviate a hernia problem and, with the Black Cats’ top-flight safety assured, Martin O’Neill has granted the midfielder leave in order to afford him enough recovery time to play for Sweden in this season’s Euro 2012. Larsson has missed just three games all season but revealed he’s been struggling with a groin problem in recent weeks, while Richardson has also went under the knife due to a groin injury – he missed last weekend’s trip to Villa due to the problem. With three games left of the campaign, Larsson’s absence is likely to offer Ahmed Elmohamady a chance on the right flank, while Phil Bardsley could continue at left-back – John O’Shea was handed the right-back role upon his return from injury at Villa last time out.

Owen Coyle has plenty of injury worries to contend with ahead of Bolton’s pair of upcoming fixtures. The Trotters’ second double Gameweek in a row sees them take on Sunderland and Tottenham but, as the manager admitted earlier today, he is sweating over the availability of a number of players after Tuesday night’s win at Villa, with his midfield, in particular, hit hard:

I don’t think it is rocket science to understand that Chris Eagles came off injured and he is one of those, while Mark Davies was touch-and-go before the game but managed to play through it. Ryo Miyaichi had a bad shoulder and got another bang on it when he was upended on the touchline at Villa Park. Darren Pratley is still shrugging off the virus he had. He hasn’t trained today but we will look at that tomorrow (Friday). There are one or two others who have taken knocks but hopefully we can get them patched up and available to go and try to win some important points at Sunderland.

Roberto Martinez revealed earlier he will give both Franco Di Santo and Hugo Rodallega “until the very last minute†to shake off injuries ahead of this weekend. The pair are struggling to overcome calf and knee problem respectively ahead of this weekend’s home game against Newcastle, leaving Wigan facing a striker shortage – Connor Sammon is likely to step in against the Magpies if both forwards miss out.

    Hi guys

I really need your advice on this

    This is my current team

    Vorm Kenny

    Simpson* Evans Lescott Collins McAuley

    Bale* Walcott Siggy Surman Song

    Cisse* RVP Aguero

Is it therefore worth me doing at least an 8pt hit to get 6/7DGWs in my team
    I'm thinking

    Walcott > Ramires
    Collins > Hibbert
    RVP > Jelavic

Sorry for the repost but any help would be really appreciated

Jelly is worth it, Hibbert is a modest shout. I would definetaly get Demps in there, seeing as Ramires' recent popularity seems to be down to his performances against Barca and not in the prem. Just my opinion

so any decent punt to replace BAE ? or should i just play one of Kompany/Evans ? they wont get a cleanie anyway. taking out BAE would mean a 8 point hit. is it worth it ?

p/s; 120 points to chase, so thats just impossible. just maintaining my 2nd placing in my ML which i lead by 14 pts and improving and try to break to top 100k, if possible top 80k. current rank 200k.

    Mingolet

    Santon, Jags, Caulker

    Siggy, VdV (c), Bale, Dempsey

    Cisse, Jelavic

As you can see there is only 10 in there. Question is, play McClean (BOL) or RvP (sto)

Afternoon all! Any comments on the below?

    Krul (Vorm)
    Simpson, Kelly, Evans (Caulker, Mcauley)
    Bale, VdV, Dempsey, Petrov (Siggy)
    Cisse, Ade, Rooney

Would you change any of the subs to be in the starting 11? Who would you captain and VC...I am 30 odd points behind the ML leader and so am taking a punt on Ade...with Bale VC.

Took a punt on Petrov last week and that worked a treat...

Is anyone deciding against taking too many hits, due to playing the remaining GWs cautiously, because of a narrow ML lead?

If this was mid-season I'd be much more likely to chance an 8 or even a 12 point hit, if the players I brought in had a good run of games (5+), but I'm only 21 clear and unless I see they have made 2-3 moves it seems a needless risk.

It depends what players your bringing in/selling when it comes to hits. I don't see the point in selling the likes of RVP and Rooney for a hit when they can score in any game and you'll want them back for GW37.

Yep me KC. A bad mistake now doesn't leave enough time to recover. I'll keep a close eye on what my main ML rival does as we have a straight points and a (H2H league which has playoffs).

Do you think Suarez will play the 2nd game with the FA cup looming?

Over-priced, won't play both games due to him being rested for FA Cup Final. If he plays both he won't play the full 180. Not on form.

completely unrelated fpl rant coming up:

i am absolutely bloody sick of phone calls/knocks on the door from telesales/charity fundraisers every single hour of the day - i feel like putting a sign up across my house saying carry on walking you cretins! - what is the point?

if i want to buy anything/donate to charity (note: i did previously donate to charity as a result of some serious hard selling on their point but chose to stop when they kept asking for ever-increasing amounts from me at a time when i was a hard-up and penniless myself) then i will, not because of some moron knocking/phoning me up every single hour of the day! - rant over

Treat them like any other unwanted saleman, cos that is what they are. All on commision working for a company in most cases which gives some of it to the cause(but not much).

Your local community safety team (town hall or police) will give you a sign which says no purchases or contracts agreed at the door. Or you could just tell them to F*CK right off.

Guys could really do with help as I need to win in my head to head league this week to stay in it.This is my current team:

    Bogdan Schwarzer

    Bardsley Collins Evans Caulker Vermealen

    Valencia Walcott Dempsey Siggy Sessegnon

    RVP Tevez Cisse

Im thinking about taking a 12 point hit for the following:
    RVP to Jelavic
    Walcott to VDV
    Sessegnon to Ben Afra
    Collins to Huth

Then my team this week would be:

    Schwarzer

    Vermealen Caulker Huth

    VDV Dempsey Siggy Ben Afra

    RVP Cisse Jelavic

    Bogdan Bardsley Valencia Evans

However im willing to take further points hits if necessary to improve my team.
Are there any you can advise or is my team good enough?
