Unchanged line-ups for Man United and Southampton as FPL bosses eye Fernandes

Fantasy Premier League managers can take increased encouragement from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as he 2019/20 season winds to a close.

The Manchester United boss has named an unchanged side yet again, allowing the likes of Bruno Fernandes (£9.0m), Mason Greenwood (£4.9m), Anthony Martial (£8.3m) and Marcus Rashford (£9.0m) to retain their Fantasy appeal.

“We’ve had a decent amount of recovery days in between, which we won’t have the rest of the season now. We picked the short straw in that respect, but we picked the long straw at the start of this period. Didn’t feel we needed to change.” – Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

All eyes will be on the Portuguese international tonight, as he was chosen as the overwhelming favourite for the Gameweek 35+ captaincy by this season’s current top 10,000 Fantasy managers.

56.3% of them made the decision to hand Fernandes the armband this week, at least 41.4 percentage points more than any other option.

It was Mohamed Salah (£12.5m) who finished a distant second, backed by just 14.9% of managers at that level before his blank against Burnley.

At the very least, those who captained Fernandes will be feeling somewhat protected, as he goes into this Southampton match with an effective ownership in the top 10k of 151.7%.

Meanwhile, Danny Ings (£7.4m) remains a key player on the Fantasy scene, still sitting in 28.6% of squads worldwide.

His owners can probably feel more encouraged ahead of tonight’s trip to Old Trafford than they realise, considering Ings’ and Southampton’s away record this season.

The forward has netted in every single road trip since the Premier League’s restart while the Saints have the fifth-best away record this season (27 points from 17 such matches).

Manchester United XI: De Gea; Shaw, Maguire, Lindelöf, Wan-Bissaka; Matić, Pogba; Rashford, B Fernandes, Greenwood; Martial.

Southampton XI: McCarthy; Bertrand, Bednarek, J Stephens, Walker-Peters; Redmond, Romeu, Ward-Prowse, Armstrong; Ings, Adams.

    Giroud captain it is!

Some of the Antonio goals just looked ideal Giroud goals. Headers, tap ins, scraps - perfect Giroud material.

Antonio is a much more mobile striker than Giroud. But he is playing Norwich so not a bad option of course. Don’t expect more than 60-65 min max though.

On a free hit for next game week and wondering which 3 Chelsea and city players to get.....

    Chelsea - I’m thinking Azpilicueta/Pulisic/Willian ....

    City - I’m alternating between Dilva/Garcia/Jesus or Dilva/Foden/Garcia

Any other mixes worth considering, maybe Get Giroud in for Chelsea?

    Team currently is as follows:

    McCarthy Fab
    Azpi Digne Bertrand Garcia Kiko
    Willian Puli Dilva Bruno Antonio
    Vardy Jesus Ings

I’d get 3 City attackers, there are plenty of defenders with good CS potential and you always risk a 1 pointer with City defender. (Getting subbed off before 60 or starting on bench and coming in).

Good point, so Dilva/Foden and Jesus? .... I just think Sterling or KDB getting benched although I can afford them

I doubt Sterling will be benched as he was already benched last game before Newcastle and apparently he believes he has a chance to go for golden boot. But there is always a chance of course.

Dilva and Foden are both very likely to start so good choices, Jesus is good but I’m not sure if he’ll start.

Yeah, I could be persuaded to get sterling in but I don’t have space to have all 3 Dilva/Foden and Sterling unless I kick out one of Willian or Pulisic and get Giroud in for the Chelsea triple up

Chasing 20ish points in a tight league 40 ish separating 5 teams. Thinking of rolling the dice this GW, 0 itb

    DDG (Button)

Aurier (Lascelles if Aurier doesn’t play), TAA, Doherty (Robinson)

    KDB Bruno Willian Foden Saka

    Vardy Rash DCL

Thinking of TAA + Saka > Boly + Pulisic (-4)

Triple Captain Pulisic, saving FH for Gw 38

    Thoughts?

Leading my cash league by 12 points and the person in second is closing fast.
    My team
    Patricio Martin
    Azpilicueta Aurier Docherty Diop Lascelles
    Salah Fernandes William Foden KDB
    Rashford Greenwood Jiminez

    His team
    Martinez Martin
    Saiss Aurier Robinson Docherty Lampti
    KDB Martial Fernandes Mahrez Gendouzi
    Jesus Rashford Vardy

Thinking of free hitting this week to outscore him. Was going to block his team in GW 37 but now my lead is so little im going to go for the points.

Free hit team 1.3 in the bank
    McCarthy Martin
    Azpilicueta Docherty Digne Cresswell Robinson
    Martial Sterling Antonio Foden William
    Jesus Ings Vardy

    Any thoughts most appreciated!

Benching headache there. Probably bench Vardy there. At least if Sterling doesn't play should be good. I fancy Wolves cleanie, so good. Team is fine.

I dont understand. Why would you pick full team of quality players, you cant field them anyway?
I would pick 3x bench players with quality team. Greenwood is good example for bench player.

Ok, i might have read wrong , that there is Robertson instead of Robinson.
So i guess you go with 343 and Foden in the bench?

Its Robinson but I would start Azpilicueta Docherty Digne. Could go with some Pool cover I guess.
