Fernando Torres matched the achievements of Liverpool’s Luis Suarez with a hat-trick of his own as Chelsea swept pass relegation threatened QPR. With Rafael Van der Vaart delivering in Tottenham’s routine win over Blackburn, the double Gameweek gambles have almost paid in full, with another 90 minutes to go.

Here’s our usual round-up for Members of some of the key performance statistics collected so far, together with our punt on where the Fantasy Premier League bonus points could be heading…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

It's just struck me that this will, in all likelihood, be my best FPL year ever! 2012 will go down as the zenith of my fantasy managerial career. There's little chance of me repeating the lucky streaks in later years. After this it'll all be downhill.

    Farewell peaks, hello troughs!

You home form is unbelievably good, and you have the momentum, so I definitely can't see you losing tonight. 2-0 Aguero double I reckon.

Away from home has been your downfall, and NEW are pretty solid at home and they will be scrapping for 4th place. Can see that finishing 1-1.

As a gooner, I'm not sure who I want to win. Still amazed Fergie has got this team into contention. Without question the best manager ever in top flight English football imo.

I can actually see that happening, which makes it even worse. I just hope Newcastle don't show up like they did against Wigan.

Just win 3 more games and we're champions. I wasn't even alive the last time we were this close.
            Incredible stuff to think about.

May the best team win! 🙂

Yeah, I'm hoping for a cracker of a game as a neutral. FF aside, 4-3 City would be perfect. Lots of goals and throws the title race wide open.

From a FF perspective, I'd like a 1-1, both OGs and lots of red cards 😉

FF aside? FF ASIDE? as a fellow neutral, i want utd 5-0 with rooney scoring 4, preferably really crappy goals, and Kompany flapping a big OG before losing it and smacking the ref, incurring a season ban, just before that freak meteorite injury to ash young, tevez and aguero

Biggest gripe of the w/e for me was Skrtel not playing. All my chasing rivals have Enrique so LIV getting their 1st cleanie in ages was particularly annoying.

Pre BPs my lead is down to 25 points now with these lot left this week. Reckon the gap will widen or tighten?

That looks quite close tbh, the Manchester derby is too hard to predict, but you've got to watch out for Jelavic racking up more points. Dempsey and Bale should net you a few, and if Dempsey doesn't you should have a CS (maybe Enrique will get benched for it? 😉 )

That would be nice, but I doubt it as he already had a rest a couple of weeks back. I'd actually rather Skrtel got rested again, then Kompany would come in and hopefully score & get a cleanie, then Dempsey can go ahead and smash LIV out the park... 😉

Wouldn't wanna lose any of those 3 midfielders, especially for a hit.

Wait and see what happens in the derby tonight, and if MUN don't win I think Rooney is essential for the run in. Also, do you think there's a danger of WIG taking their foot off the gas now they're safe?

I'm probably doing Cisse -> Rooney myself.

Moses is on fire and a good pick. Only slight concern with him is whether Wigan will take their foot off the gas now that they're safe.

IMO the big hitters this week include Rooney, RVP, Nani, Jelavic, Vermaelen, Dempsey, VDV (in that order)

Wigan aren't safe though, are they. If Bolton beat Spurs and WBA, Wigan lose at Blackburn and QPR beat Stoke then it'll be all to play for on the last day. It's not done yet.
A bit worried about the Toon though - this season they've lost 5-0 and 5-2 in London. Not very auspicious for Wednesday night, is it. I wish I hadn't captained Cisse, now but it seemed like the "safe" choice last week. Mind you, if they lose 5-2 at Stamford Bridge and Cisse scores the two I'll be happy.

Yeah, mathematically they aren't safe, but the likelyhood of Bolton winning both and QPR winning is pretty small. Get your point though, so Wigan will look to make sure next week. If they beat BLA though, I think they may rest players for the final game of the season, which would be annoying as a Moses owner.

              I can't see anything other than a Chelsea win I'm afraid. 2-1 I reckon.

Am hoping the Che slaughter will spur the Toons into action. Cisse goal would help sooo much!
It's also nice to know that VDV not only got a goal but played out the game without injury. Now I just need Ade to pitch in with a goal or two. If he doesn't I might ship him out for Jelly.

I feel like I could do so much better. I have made so many nooby mestakes that could of been avoided.

      Lessons learnt:
      1) Dont take hits, only in extreme circumstances (i.e DGWs)
      2) Go with your gut, dont let people persuade you otherwise
      3) Dont kneejerk captain choice last minute, NEVER works

      and there's much MUCH more..

I've lost count of the amount of times I've made a transfer/captain decision on a Tuesday, then Saturday morning changed it... only to see my initial idea rake in the points.

If I went with my gut every week I'd be top 1k, I'm certain of it.

Looking at the top scoring players for the outfield positions, it seems that FPL actually get their pricing right most of the time. All the big hitters are the priciest guys - bar one or two exceptions. Point over.

PS. Come on, Bale! You're my boy! Also, I'd really love it if Citeh beat Man Yoo. I'm bored of Man Yoo, and it would be nice to see someone else win the league. Next season, it'll be Spurs. COYS!

I know what your saying, but something is telling me.... there gonna get it tonight.... not the 1-6 like before but with Tevez and Aguero both firing i can't see anything other then a victory, i think i want it more to shut up all the fake manure fans really, and where i live you would think it was old trafford!

I have just returned from holiday and only wanted to say "Feck you Suarez you slimy little w*nker.. I keep you for ages (twice I might add) and then correctly switch you to Cisse and you go a bag a hattrick... very annoyed...

p.s. good morning dead zoners, hope your fortunes have faired a little better

          Morning mate..

fortune definitely smiled on me this weekend... thanks to a last minute decision to take the armband off Cisse & give it to Torres...

my nearest ML rival had been inching closer and closer in the last few weeks...

i didnt want him beating me by 3 points in the final week with a clever captain choice, so i took matters into my own hands and bet my shirt on the last player in the FPL that he was going to bring in... (i was shittin' myself about it though, right up to the point he bagged his unlikely hat-trick)...hehe

It could have gone horribly wrong but glad it worked out for you... My mini leagues are pretty tied up so I am just trying desperately to get in the top 1K... In all the years I have played this game this is the first season I have not given up or lost interest..

Nice rank.. the air up there must be pretty thin...

maybe next season for me, i only discovered this site just before the half-way mark this season... but even that's helped me beyond measure...

I am gonna have to disagree with taking hits only in DIRE circumstances....I have 51 total transfers...16 "4pt" hits and 2 "8pt" hits.....I like my rank and I believe that those xfers just paid off in the end. If you make the right transfers hits are justified....this week alone should prove that...#1 in the world has -40pts and almost still has a better score this week.

Wow my rival was 110 points behind coming into this. He has Jelavic (captained), Torres and Pienaar as differentials over me. My lead is down to 80 (after bonus) and possibly as low as 50 by the end of the week...

Victor continues to cause me misery. I had him for the first 27 games, during which he averaged 3 pints. In the nine games since I transferred him out he has averaged over 6 points.

I've had all the right players at all the wrong times. Sessegnon was another example.

A respectable 38 points now thanks to Friedel, Mata and Bale. Still 10 players left before the end of DGW. Although I have doubts whether Mata will play the second game with the FA Cup Final looming.

Likewise - I have 40 so far. However, I also do my mate's team now and again; he had his WC available so I used that this week. He's on 93 with 11 players to go!

Not normally my tactic, having only taking 20 points worth of hits over the entire rest of the season. Desperate times were calling for desperate measures!
