The double Gameweek delivers. Tottenham’s four goal haul at the Reebok sees Harry Redknapp’s men share the Fantasy spoils, while Papiss Cisse adds two “worldies” to his incredible goal tally at Newcastle to silence Stamford Bridge.

Here’s our pick of the key stats from tonight’s and Tuesday’s matches, with the usual stab at where the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) bonus points will be heading…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Thoroughly deserved win for you guys. There was nothing to separate the two teams except Cisse's masterclass. I really enjoyed watching Cisse despite being on the losing side - what a treat to watch! Hope you lads end up on 3rd now, so that we can kick out Arsenal from the CL in Munich 😉

    Bale/VDV/Valencia/Piennar/Dempsey
    Tevez/Cisse/Torres

    Bank- 1.4 m

    Tevez > RVP
    Cisse > Ronney

Anybody reckon Siggy or Barfa -> Moses for a hit?? Most likely using FT on Cisse -> Rooney(maybe)

Gunna be tough to let go of Dave but it has to be done, with only 2 games left, you have to go with fixtures!

I will probably be letting Dave go to, but with a tear in my eye! Mrs China Mag will keep hold though!

Siggy - Moses could be worth a hit.

A half fit barfa ripped apart the man city defence in the away fixture, so keep!

If i keep- i wont play if i get in Moses. I think City will keep it tight in the back, very weary of the toon counter-attack.

So Moses to outscore barfa by 2pts? Looks good in my eyes.

        Starting XI will be:

        Vorm
        Evans-Kompany-Verm
        VDV-Bale-Demps- Moses/Barfa --> Hit for Moses, Keep+Play Barfa

The Sun reckons that Vertonghen will go to spurs at the end of the season. He is expected to be named ajax player of the year.

    Two points:

    1) If he goes to spurs, they will be VERY strong at centre back. Dawson, Caulker, Kaboul are all good enough to start. Surely they would get rid of one?

    2) How good are belgium? Kompany, Big Verm and Vertonghen in centre defence!!!

My mate who's Belgian reckons Vermaelen should struggle to get a look-in in the national side from now on because of Komp and Vertonghen.

Anyway, their side is interesting: Verthongen, Vermaelen, Kompany, Fellaini, Hazard, Lukaku and Dembele.

They are in a tough group for the WC quals though. Half of Britain, half of Balkan.

I think Spurs are going to find it really difficult to attract big signings without CL football. Newcastle could do with the chap in defence though, especially if you make the cut to CL.

Agree with ya. Belgium is a highly under-rated team in Europe at the moment. I think they have the potential to be the world beaters in a few years time. Look at the talent they have - Hazard/Lukaku/De Bruyne/Dembele/Witsel/Fellaini

We've been linked with guy guy for ages now. But I think its always been the case that he would come to us IF spurs and arsenal don't follow through their interest. I expect us to push again, if we get champions league. If not, it would be difficult to keep 3 top centre backs happy (saylor will be fit for next season), so we would more likely go for somebody younger, who would be happy being on the bench and brought though slowly.

I was going to have a cheeky bet on them to win the euros, before they were confirmed as not qualifying. I was expecting really long odds, but they were only 40-1 or something like that. Glad I didn't bother now! Might have a cheeky punt on them to win the 2016 championship!!

    Acqua, I posted this last week, but I think you had left. I'll try again now;

For any arsenal fans on their (Acqua, Jins, whoever else), I’ve been getting into listening to the tuesday club podcast from alan davies. Great stuff, even for a non gooner. One recurring theme seems to be that Wilshere is your best player. That got me thinking, what an incredible job you’s have done to be where you are, considering that your defence has been decimated for most of the season as well, and you literally only have one striker. With wilshere back, RVP staying? and a few new signings, is it possible for you to challenge for the title next year? Could you list you ideal starting 11 for next season, including the positions that you think will be strengthened. This will help me to judge what we need to do in the summer to compete. Cheers

I completely agree with the Wilshere comment. In all honesty it has been a turnaround season for us, seeing as when we got thumped by United, everyone thought we would finish mid-table. A solo performance by RVP supported by key players such as Song, Walcott, Arteta, even Ox at times was what kept us going. I think that next season, with a few signings, we will still be top 4 but not enough to compete for the title just yet. It will take 1 more season to gel, get Podolski going, and i think we will have a lethal attack, even next year.

My ideal XI tbh would be:

      Podolski-RVP-Walcott
      Wilshere-Song-Arteta
      Gibbs-Verm-Kos-Sagna
      Szes

I was very disappointed by our signings last year- bar Arteta. he has gelled immensely and has played a HUGE part in our midfield helping close the gap between our attack and defense. Santos and Mertesacker were not essential signings as Koscielny and Gibbs were enough to do the job this year.

All in all, i dont expect a top 2 finish next year, but still a lingering 3rd or maybe 4th if pushed by Chelsea, Spurs + Toon. Anything below 4th would be a disappointment. Let's just hope RVP doesn't leave (which i doubt) but anything can happen.

      Sorry for the long post.

Cheers. i think that next year should be really exciting. Presumably chelsea will invest massively. As will both manchester clubs and liverpool. You guys still have the cesc and nasri money burning a hole in your pockets, so I would expect at least one more major signing. I really hope that we manage to sneak the champions league, so we can get the money needed to make the necessary squad improvements, without having to sell tiote. One thing is sure, is that there are going to be three very disappointed teams at the end of next season (this season less so, because we were never expecting to get champions league, and liverpool were never close).

          2.Utd(W W) 89
          3.Gooners (W W) 72

I did it got rid of Cisse > Rooney and VDV > Moses for -4. I've gone transfer crazy lately 72 points since GW28 but they have all seemed to pay off somehow. I have been on first place in my country since gameweek 10 and second and third place teams have gone all out to take me down so I have had to play aggressive. I;m still first with a 70 point difference...do you think they can still catch me?

    GW36 = 138 points took me to 5,169 overall.

    Team for GW37

    Howard
    Terry - Vermaelen - Walker
    Bale - Moses - Dempsey - Pienaar
    RVP (C) - Rooney - Jelavic (VC)

    Schwarzer, Sigurdsson, Evans, Shawcross

Play Schwarzer instead of Howard? Play Evans instead of Walker/Terry just in case he plays?

What do you think? Any other crazy transfer for a hit?

    Gents,

I am about 25 points give or take from a top 1000 finish and could really do with some advise from my fellow deadzoners...

    Bogdan
    Kaboul, Evans, Vermaelen
    VDV, Bale, Petrov, Pienaar
    Rooney, Cisse, RVP

    Vorm,Sigurdsson,McAuley,Caulker

I have one FT and was going to go Cisse to Jelly GW37 aqnd then Siggy to Mata, however Cisse proved again last night what a class act he is so now I'm a little lost on what to do.

I don't think it's worth changing my keeper now for only two weeks and I am happy enough with my defence and having Pig / RVP..

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as it's pretty much make or break time

P.S. ENR, nice rank mate, wasn't that long ago we were almost the same level..

I think Cisse will probably score 1 against Man City and 1 against Everton if he does score. Jelavic could go mental against Wolves and score 1 or 2 against Newcastle in the form the team is in 12 goals in the last 3 games.

Sell VDV or Bale for Moses. Mata is good for GW38 and Moses is in form and good for the 2 last gameweeks.

Thanks JOHNDY. That's a decent move if you reckon Jelly has more potential than Cisse cos of the fixtures. A word of caution though - Cisse's form is something to die for. He's totally capable of another brace vs City.

If I were in your position, I'd probably save the FT and use them for City/Chelsea punts in gw38.

I'm no HBA fan so I'd be tempted to go with the hit. BLB and WOL could bring returns for Moses.

However, a lot depends on your situation and your intentions in FPL. I suspect you are playing catch up. You have to see a long term return to justify a hit but in this case given form/fixture planets alligning my gut is telling me the hit could pay off.

I'm more influenced by ridding myself of HBA than gaining Moses tbh. I'd be tempted to take the punt given the fixtures and the form Moses is in. He has clearly matured and become more influential as the season has gone on.
Could be a useful differential that could make up a lot of ground for you. A good question to ask yourself in these instances, is what is the worse that could happen?
If you are going to take a hit, do it this week not next, so you get 2 games out of him. More inclined to take the hit myself.

How many pts do you see him getting out of those 2 games?

Barfa > Moses sounds good. Moses is in form and you can play him both gameweeks. I can see Newcastle scoring no more than 2 goals in their last 2 games. Ben Arfa and Cabaye are assisting Cisse for most of his goals so you never know which one will do it for the couple he might score. Moses is Wigans best player and scoring goals. Keep Siggy for GW38.

It's just impossible to say. Blackburn v Wigan is massive, nobody can predict how those relegation 6 pointers will go. The hit would give you Moses for Wolves later while you use the transfer for Aguero... so that might tip the balance, but i'd probably prefer one of your currents + 4 points for this gameweek.

Cheers El Ninio, yep risk and reward paid off. It's my first ton in 2 years, mind, and probably my only gwk where most things fell into place. Spreading the dgw players around (bar NEW) paid off.

Still only gone up 3k though. Tough at the top this year for sure. How did you go?

My gut keeps reminding me never to take a hit for a defender (unless its a DGW). I'm happy enough with my defense for the last game (Terry BLA, Evans sun, Caulker LIV) so I just need to get through this game. You never know, we have kept plenty of clean sheets at home recently, so why not one more!!

I got rid of VDV > Moses and Cisse > Rooney.

It's a toss up between VDV and Bale. VDV is in form and scoring but could get rested or play 20/45/60 minutes next game. Bale will play both games and is not scoring but assisting.

Neither in my opinion. I would take out Dempsey.

Not in good form and just have a feeling Sunderland might get a result there or a 0-0. Then Fullham have Tot last game of season. Also have nothing to play for. Tot are still playing for 4th.

    Bogdan/Mignolet
    evans mcauly huth
    bale demps barfa pienaar
    rooney rvp adebayor

I am 30 points behind in my league. Have 1 FT but not sure whether to use it.
