Pro Pundits team up for exciting new podcast ‘The FPL Wire’

Ahead of the 2020/21 Fantasy Premier League season, we have added another podcast to our rapidly growing Scout Network.

Powered by DreamSetGo, Lateriser12 (three top 200 finishes), Zophar666 (seven top 10k finishes) and BigManBakar (came fourth in 2014/15) have teamed up to bring you ‘The FPL Wire’.

These experienced managers, who have loved this game for years, will be discussing FPL every Tuesday, hoping to give you all the insight, information and banter you need to make your big decisions.

All the three FPL managers featured on this podcast have very contrasting managerial styles. So we hope these personality differences lead to engaging debate, each of us analysing from three different vantage points.

Every week, they will be discussing a Hot Topic as well as an in-depth look into two to three Premier League teams. The FPL Wire’s pre-Season podcast debuted last week, where the trio discussed the top four teams, the promoted clubs and three other Fantasy-relevant sides in great detail.

In the second episode, they will be taking an in-depth look at how to tackle Blank Gameweek 1, Wildcards, Going with Mohamed Salah (£12.0m) as well as discussing Kai Havertz (£8.5m), Everton, Leicester City and Newcastle United.

This podcast is powered by DreamSetGo, a sports travel and experiences platform offering bespoke travel and hospitality packages around global sporting events, and curated experiences with your favourite sports celebrities.

What team would suffer the most?

    A. Man Utd without Bruno
    B. Liverpool without VVD
    C. City without KDB

    For me it's BAC

    1. Sanchit
      • 8 Years

      BAC

The comparison is not correct though.
Every team will suffer without their Leading CB more than they will from a AM

City won the league with KDB injured vast majority of the season so probably not C.

rams probably gets more points than the 4.5's this season however I think people forget you can change your keeper at your first WC

Ryan and a Sheff Utd 5.0 for me. Would rather do a defender swap at a good price point if they look shaky than a keeper one.

    I think I’m close...thoughts on A or B

    McCarthy (4.0)
    TAA, Davies, Saliba, Justin (Mitchell)
    Salah, Auba, Son, ASM (Bissouma)
    Werner, X, X

    A) Adams & Mitrovic (3-4-3), bench Justin, leaves 1.5 ITB to do Son -> Fernandes
    B) Ings & Davies (4-4-2), play Justin, leaves 0.5 ITN to do Son -> Rashford

You're gonna force Son out? I don't like it for that reason. Would rather do Werner > Martial than Son out in truth. Son has better fixtures and is a proven mid.

Other option is B but instead using the 0.5 to do Ings -> Martial

        Do you like that?

        A. I'm surprised by the lack of Kane in people's team this season (though I understand why many would prefer Son).

      A is 20million
      B is 17.5million

The other 2.5 million does matter

It can help you go from 4.5 Def to Robbo
        Or Mitro to Ings

    I think its ready, right?

    McCarthy (Button)
TAA - Davies - Coady - Egan (Taylor)
Salah - Auba - Alli - ASM (Bissouma)
    Werner - Ings (4.5)

    Plan would be:

GW2 Salah and Ings > Bruno and Martial for a hit -4
GW3 Auba > Sterling or KdB
    GW4 Alli > Chelsea mid.

How that looks? Dont like a hits but could see that Martial and Bruno will pay it back.
Also could see both of them price rise before GW2.

It has to be Soucek. With Brewster and Mitchell in your team you can't afford to carry Bissouma/Rice. I think you need a player you are happy to start and Soucek will be good value despite bad fixtiures.

Will Saint-Maximin be regularly starting? I like him as a pick with a proper striker now leading the line, but Fraser joining has worried me a little. I'm wondering if Fraser will play on the wing or more as a #10.

Not sure how Newcastle will set up on a regular basis.

    1. MoSalalalalalalalalah
      • 5 Years

Doesn't matter, because I think Fraser would play on the left and ASM on the right. They will all start.

PVA back in first team training(not ready for gw1).
Mitchell may not play after 2-3 gws.
For those of us who plan to keep the WC and always bench Mitchell maybe it's wiser to get Ferguson and wait him to recover as he will probably be a starter cause he is a quality RB?

    1. Soto Ayam
      • 4 Years

His ownership is low, so his price won't drop. If we think Ferguson is a starter when fit, then I'd go for it
