In South Africa we pay R400 per month ( +- 20 pound) and we get access to each and every premier league game - Live on SuperSport ( our sport Channel).

Feel pretty bad for the UK peeps

Average cost of one time meal per person in South Africa vs England - 1.2 pounds vs 10 pounds..are ppv charges high - absolutely, you still can't really compare apples to oranges though

I always said that people living outside the UK and Ireland have an unfair advantage when it comes to following the Premier League. 😕

When i heard the news on Friday that Sky were going to charge PPV for some matches i was livid and rang them straight away to cancel my subscription. After some time of the phone ringing out i finally got onto a rep who informed me that does not apply to Irish customers and we will still be able to get those matches under our current package.

I let him know that i was not happy with what i was getting for the money i was paying and he actually got €25 off my monthly bill which just about appeased me and stopped me from canceling for now so it was well worth the call.

If the TV and FA people think they can pass on the losses to the fans and customers they have another thing coming to em,they are kidding themselves if they think people are going to put up with it.

Here in India i have yearly package of 400 INR or 1400 INR for all India national team Cricket/IPL/PL/Bundesliga/Disney movies (in expensive package)

          Which is 6$ to 18$ yearly ...

I feel bad for you guys as they literally loot you. They deserve people watching games on free streams tbh if they are charging so much and with so many restrictions

They are taking us to the cleaners Amey.

It's true, many people i know just watch the games through dodgy box's now for a fraction of the cost and it's hard to blame em.Don't get me wrong i love the PL and am happy to support it but there is a limit to how much i am willing to pay for it.

If you think it is bad value for a the normal Joe in Ireland then just give a look at what it can cost a public house (pub) to show games to their customers which can be as high as €26k a year.

            https://www.independent.ie/business/irish/revealed-the-cost-of-tv-sport-in-our-pubs-34971429.html

The prices i told you are for streaming (legal broadcast) watching on TV & Laptop/Mobile.

Pubs are not that famous in small cities in India. In metro cities they are but that's very expensive.

But normal supporter can pay 20$ per year here and enjoy footy + cricket !

As i said above i know it's hard to justify money too much on footy. Afterall we all have mouths too feed & other needs. So not everyone can easily afford that i know.

On top of my normal satellite TV pack i have to pay for Sky Sports - Complete Pack €40.00 and Sports Extra €34.00.

So that's €74 per month on top of what i pay for the Variety Pack and i don't even think i get all the games for that.

B, too much pressure for LIV after the defeat and they have CL games and Brewster holding a striker's place doesnt seem ideal, you ll need two transfers to upgrade him if you want later.

I want a mid priced striker, 6.5m max.

    Thanks.

After the IB all teams' form may change so you may just follow the fixtures. Watkins after this GW has the best, but if you want a penalty taker i guess Maupay has slightly better fixtures than the rest

Would you double up on Villa attack with Grealish and Watkins?

        1. skodaole2
          • 11 Years
          3 years, 5 months ago

After this GW i will get Watkins, even if i had Grealish i would do it. But doubling on a smaller team needs patience, they wont score 3 or 7 every week. But when they score you ll get almost always points with those two. If you can handle one-two blanks, why not?

      Maupay for me.

To be pedantic Maupay is more than 6.5 now.

I think Antonio is the best long term option, since the restart his stats have been unreal

I've been doing FPL since 07/08 and never listened to a single minute of a podcast or YouTube video until this season. Now I'm completely obsessed with them! Let's Talk FPL, FPL Tips, The FPL Wire, Fantasy Football Hub Podcast and Who Got the Assist are all great. If I could only listen to one a week it would be FPL Blackbox. Love listening to AZ and Mark.

    Hi all.

Some thoughts on a dilemma I've got in my head on this team please.

    Ryan - Button
    Chilwell - Dias - Justin - Mitchell - Robertson
    Son - Salah - DeBruyne - March - Bissouma
    DCL - Kane - Brewster

I'm strongly thinking of replacing Robbo with Saiss, then upgrading March to Barnes.

What do you peeps reckon stick with what I've got or twist. I'm just thinking twisting makes it a bit more of a balanced squad but I'm torn.

I wouldn't get rid of Robbo. I have TAA at the moment but if I was wildcarding I would probably get Robbo. He's getting in the box a lot and has looked in great form since the restart. I would downgrade Dias to a 4.5 and then upgrade March to Barkley.

Liking the Barkley shout. He's going to play in an advanced roll in that team. What's your thinking on downgrading Dias?

            1. BeWater
              • 3 Years

I would downgrade to Dallas, Ayling or KWP. Or Lamptey if you can afford him. With my team structure I don't think I can work Grealish in at the moment so very likely getting Barkley.

Some not popular choices there, i would maybe wait for Chilwell news, i think he was tested for Covid. If he is fine to start, the moves you describe are not bad. Just keep in mind that Justin and Mitchell are possible to lose their places at some point and LEI fixtures start getting tougher, although Barnes could score vs anyone

Looks like Chilwell is back in training for the Denmark game but being closely monitored due to a non related Covid illness. Hopefully nothing to serious.
Yeah good shout with Justin especially loosing his place. One to monitor.

keep Robbo for now and replace March with Lookman, he's a punt but he looked good when he came on against Wolves, he has some decent fixtures too 🙂

Hmmm tough one that. I've been impressed with March so far this season especially against Everton which is my team. Lookman always had the potential but never really got the break in the Everton team when he was there. He came under three different managers and could never hold down that position which makes me a bit wary of him. Defo punt though, maybe one to watch for now.

        1. lugs
          • 6 Years

yeah that's understandable, he did well in first spell on loan at Leipzig with 5 goals in 11 games, then they bought him and changed managers and he never really got a Look in (pun intended), but tbf to him Leipzig are a way better team than Fulham so it should in theory be a lot easier for him to become nailed, i'm currently looking for a 5m midfielder so he's definitely on my radar as he does have talent

Looks a good team. Surely Jimmy is due some points. I have Brewster and Podence myself. Not sure if I'm going to keep Podence long term. I might go for Barkley. See what happens with Foden this week but that might be a change I would make. I would probably get Grealish in for Foden this gameweek.

I've had Grealish since GW2, would ideally liked to keep him. But that price difference allowed me to get Pulisic. I've always liked Barkley as a player, and could be a steel at 5,9 now that he's finally get'sgetting regular minutes.

I have both but if I was choosing one I'd go Son. I think there are a lot of cheap forward options. I've tinkered around with a few WC teams myself and I prefer the ones without Kane.

Like it. You can switch Maupay to Antonio when West Ham's fixtures improve. I'm the WC drafts I've been playing around with I've had Pulisic and Barkley instead of JRod and Grealish.

Could be some big scores on that bench this GW. Not sure what I'd suggest. How do you see the Leeds Wolves game going?

I feel like this game could be both high or low scoring in this game. Jimenez could get a brace or blank. So I have no idea tbh.

Does anyone think that the green, grey, red fixture difficulty on the app is misleading? Palace have a lot of generous colours (fixtures) coming up, but for Palace are there any easy games? I think it can lead you down the wrong path looking at players based on what the app thinks are easy games. Surely only the top teams should show green fixtures

    Now I'm rambling

    1. Lemongrab
      • 14 Years

But then by that logic all of Fulham (for example) fixtures are going to be red all season.

Great example, and my point exactly! I think that would be more accurate. How are there any "green" games for Fulham

        1. Lemongrab
          • 14 Years
          3 years, 5 months ago

I suppose it's because there are still easier and harder games for Fulham. So if you were thinking of getting Mitro for example he's more likely to get points in those green games, even if they're still not going to be easy for them.

          1. Lemongrab

One thing I think is more relevant is that the colours to my knowledge aren't adjusted for form. So even when Sheff Utd were solid as a rock last season, games Vs them were still green on the ticker.

Interesting, massive flaw there then. Yeah I do agree regarding Mitro, but I think people can be burned by this tactic. I have been in the past. Using Palace again as an example, I will keep an eye on say Zaha to see how he plays with this supposedly easy run and what returns he gets, compared to someone like Jrod or Grealish who don't. Grealish getting 20+ against a red fixture team (Lpool) is another example

    2. Joey Tribbiani
      • 3 Years

Im with you on this, if I look at Fulhams fixtures for example, it should look mostly red.

They way the ticker is set up, any club playing Fulham at home is dark blue, any playing City away is dark red and so on, regardless of opposition. You’ll have to play around with the difficulty ratings if you want it to reflect differently.

Any other Richarlison owners here? It's very frustrating tbh, I don't want the double-up with DCL but have definite fear given the ownership and potential benching/missing out of next 1-2 fixtures. Had him since GW2 and he's been a bit of a headache with DCL in this form.

Same boat mate I have rich from GW1 and very hesitant to get rid for DCL. I’m on W/C now and still haven’t decided what to do lol I feel rich is better pick long term eps with pens but form of DCL hard to ignore

Rich owner here with Digne and Rodriguez so no way to get DCL right now. I think we have to stick now. Their prices are nearly the same and Richarlison has been unlucky not to pick up a few more points. On pens too which helps.

    Martinez (Steer)
    Robertson James Saiss (Lamptey Mitchell)
    Salah KDB Son Rodriguez Podence
    DCL Jiménez (Brewster)

    2 FTs. 0.4itb.

The only trade I was considering is James to Regulion/Zouma. But I have a feeling that James will start against Saints with Azpi starting against Sevilla next Tuesday.

Rather than burn the trade, then, I may do Steer to Button or Forster to free up a Villa spot (words I never thought I would ever write post 2010).

Does that make sense? Any other moves you would recommend? Cheers!

True. That said, if Podence and Jiménez blank again, I would be tempted to switch both for Grealish and Watkins, but need an extra Villa spot.

Overall, however, I think you’re right. Especially when there are several other cheapish forwards to choose from.

Possibly. Everton’s defensive stats are among the best so far, and after Pool the fixtures look very good.

But Pickford is the elephant in the room, capable of ruining anyone’s cleansheet. I think Coleman may provide better value, or Keane even.

      1. Stupendous

I think Digne finishes the season as top 3 point scoring defender.

Digne James DCL triple up until further notice.

of course, why not? Here is a few reasons to hold him:

      - he is due
      - form resets anyways after IB, he may as well be scoring wild for next few weeks, while DCL or someone like that may lose form
      - Ziyech and Pulišić expected to start with Werner finally as a striker
