Chris Brunt is out of West Brom’s home clash with Arsenal. Theo Walcott faces a late fitness test for the Baggies showdown. Jonny Evans may require surgery on an injured foot. David Luiz is making good progress from a hamstring injury, Steve Kean’s injury worries mount up, while Ledley King is set for further knee surgery this summer:

Chris Brunt has been ruled out of Roy Hodgson’s final match in charge of West Brom this Sunday. The midfielder, who has been in decent Fantasy form of late with a goal and 5 bonus points in his last two games, has undergone surgery to have his tonsils removed – he has been struggling with tonsillitis for the past six weeks now, according to Baggies assistant boss Keith Downing. Peter Odemwingie is still battling to overcome the hamstring injury that kept him out of last week’s trip to Bolton, while Jerome Thomas is also a doubt for the visit of Arsenal with flu.

Theo Walcott may be set for a return for the Hawthorns trip. Arsene Wenger revealed this afternoon that the winger is set for a fitness test tomorrow ahead of Sunday’s vital clash. With a win enough to secure third place, the Gunners boss is desperate for Walcott to be available, with Gervinho failing to impress on the right as a recent replacement.

Reports suggest that Jonny Evans’ foot injury may be more serious than first thought. The United centre-half has missed out on his side’s last two matches after sustaining the injury in the 4-4 draw against Everton in Gameweek 35 – he is thought to be unlikely to feature at Sunderland this weekend. While the club had initially thought a rest would help the injury heal naturally, Evans is showing little sign of making progress, with surgery over the summer now a possibility.

David Luiz is making good progress from a hamstring problem ahead of Chelsea’s game against Blackburn. While the centre-half is unlikely to feature from the start, he is said to be in contention for a possible sub appearance against the relegated outfit – he hasn’t played since the middle of last month and Roberto Di Matteo is keen to afford him some game time, with the Champions League Final against Bayern Munich just over a week away. Luiz is thought to have missed training today, along with Gary Cahill and John Obi Mikel – the latter was unavailable for Tuesday’s trip to Liverpool due to injury.

Steve Kean is sweating on the fitness of a couple of key players for the Chelsea encounter. Paul Robinson and David Dunn are both nursing ankle problems and remain doubts for the match, while the Blackburn boss also revealed Bradley Orr is out – the defender has undergone Achilles surgery. Kean is hoping Gael Givet will be ready for the weekend; the defender was taken off at half-time against Wigan on Monday with hamstring and groin problems.

Ledley King could be set to feature for Spurs in Sunday’s crucial home game with Fulham. The centre-half has missed the last three Gameweeks with his ongoing knee problem after a training ground collision worsened his condition – Harry Redknapp admitted King is set to go under the knife again after the season comes to an end:

For the sake of the club and the team, he has tried to play on, but he has been playing in pain and his movement’s not been as good. Hopefully, we’ll get his knee cleared out in the summer and he will be right again. I’m sure the chairman respects everything he has done for the club and we’d love to keep him around.

Owen Coyle has admitted he is considering how to utilise Chung-Yong Lee for Bolton’s vital trip to Stoke this weekend. A victory for the Trotters and a defeat for QPR at City would ensure the Lancashire outfit’s survival and, with the Korean impressing as a sub in last week’s draw with West Brom, Coyle is keeping his options open:

He came through 70 minutes the other day in a practice match and he’s fit. Whether he’s at the point where he can start games is difficult because we wouldn’t want to do anything that could harm his long term well-being. But for that brief period against West Brom you could see his quality and if he continues to improve as he has done then we’ll have to see what can happen against Stoke.

The Bolton boss is also checking on the fitness of Nigel Reo-Coker and Martin Petrov; the latter limped off with ten minutes left against the Baggies but is thought to be nursing no more than a knock.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

    Hi guys. Desperately clinging onto a 15 point lead in my main ML.
    Thinking of doing Dempsey to Petrov (Petrov to block rivals last key differential)
    and Jelavic to Aguero (4 point hit)

    Szczeney (Schwarzer)
    Verm, Caulker, Evans (Santon, McAuley)
    VDV, Valencia, Siggy, Petrov (Brunt)
    RVP, Rooney, Aguero (c)

    Does this look a solid plan/team ? Thanks

      Tough decision alright, you've 7 playing at home and RVP v WBA(a) is like a home game for other strikers, so that's a great position to be in. If Bale is LB then probably him. Remember Everton have scored 4 in their last 2 home games and Newcastle left in 4 v Wigan and 2 at home to Arsenal, so 2 or 3 goals for Everton wouldn't surprise me (although 0-0 wouldn't either!).

      I'm a Spurs fan TEDDI, and I really cannot see anyway Droopy plays Bale LB, it limits one of our most attacking and creative outlets. Almost certain that Gallas plays LB, if King is fit. Otherwise, Droopy might even ask Sandro or Livermore to do a job there, but it won't be Bale.

      Top of last page seems to go for benching Valencia over Dempsey. I'm playing both with McClean as sub - but I would probably go for Dempsey - for the sole reason that he's the top scoring midfielder (I know he's not been so great away from home, but nevertheless that would be my pick)

    @Frazek

    You seem to have a decent knowledge of Euro line-ups etc.

    Do you think Benzema or Remy is first choice for France? Looking at some France and Spain cover in GW2 and am thinking of bringing in Llorente and Ribery for Ibra and Sneijder (will still have Robben).

    Sound sensible to you?

      JKIS, in qualifying, Benzema played 7, scored 3, Remy played 7, scored 2. I haven't seen the French play much but both have been in fine club form and I would guess, at this early stage, the pair will play together, but my advice would be to keep a close eye on up coming pre-tournament games for a true steer.

        Second part, I like France DEFs but only after England game, so will look at 1/2 in my GW2 WC. As for Llorente, looks a certain starter assuming Villa is out, but I haven't seen anything on his fitness for a while, so I'd sit and wait.

        Italy also good for Def after GW1, and I am not too mad on the Dutch. Going with Huntelaar, but doubling up with Germany and Portugal to play is asking a lot. Qualifying games in these tournaments often results in low-scoring, tight games.

      Hi dude I'm french so I think I can help you a bit.
      Benzema is clearly a good pick if you want some attacking french cover. Definitely a starter and in good form. Remy is risky as he is not so sure of starting and if he does he 'll play right midfiled.
      Ribery is not really great in the french squad , I would no buy him.

          Blanc keep and keep saying that benzema is our only world class player he can't be on bench trust me. If you need some defensive coverage debuchy is certainely the better one.
          Bit cheaper and the best chance of attacking point , he make a lot of crosses.

    Regarding Euro 2012 captain changes, does anyone know whether you can change your captain more than once? For example, you captain Player A on June 8th, change to Player B on June 9th, then change captain to Player C on June 10th, and then to Player D on June 11th

    B) mata/valencia + cisse --> yaya + aguero

    C) mata/valencia + cisse + rooney --> yaya + aguero + rvp

        He's got verm, walker, evra.

        personally i would look to someone other than yaya myself. i dont think he will be needed to push up against qpr. i'd be tempted to have a more out there punt considering its the final gameweek. if my mini league wasnt so close or if i had a second free transfer i would strongly consider holt. i have a gut feeling norwich will put a few away this weekend now villa are safe

          Well, mata is my most expensive midfielder.
          so if i sell him to finance my aguero transfer (from cisse), i'll only have 9million.
          Thats my fear that yaya will play as a defensive midfielder.

          I dont really want to use a transfer on holt since i alr have jelavic as my last cheap midfielder.

            i'd look elsewhere. ramires has been talked about a lot by some people, he's affordable. pilkington or hoolahan could be sneaky punts but may not start (who knows with lambert). i saw someone mention etherington too. its up to you really, but personally i dont see yaya as too much better than any of these for a one week punt. end of the season is the perfect chance to show a bit of flair

      Main difference GOONER (sickened just to write this :)) is that you can switch payers around inbetween GWs, and change your (c). For example, I start with Chesny in goal, he concedes 3 and gets 1 pt, so I switch him (before second GK has played) to GIven, in hope he'll do better.

      But you cannot switch back again.

      Similarly, (c) I pick player in Gp A, he does nothing special so switch to player in Gp B etc, and hopefully I get a decent return. Gamble is, I get 4/5 pts for (c), do I risk trying for better from a later game? That's part of the tactical risk management.

      I hope that helps.

          I suspect it's to encourage participants to engage daily, not weekly, which is how FPL largely rolls. The more clicks, the more ad rev perhaps.

          But it strikes me, for a short-term tournament, a little tactical swerve is no bad thing, and I'll be watching most of the games and certainly be following the news daily anyway. Still, maybe that's just me.

            Oh, I'll be watching the games, but the emphasis on planning your squad to deal with multiple captaincy (having decent (c) options each day) sounds like it might need a spreadsheet. I deal with enough of that shit at work!

              Fair dos '66, I can certainly see that view. I'll go into it will good intentions and ease back if it proves too much. I did the same with CL this season, but it was too long-winded a comp. This is 4 weeks during which there's no FPL to worry about either.

              Still, all the best whichever you decide.

        Can you change your captain during a match day, e.g captain Robben in the 6pm match on 8 June and switch to Ozil for the 8.45pm kickoff if desired?

        Also, the new sub system suggests that playing players with games earlier in the gameweek is more favourable, assuming you are keeping an eye on your team every day to sub a poor performer out?

            I think the rules state too, that if you choose to do the subs yourself, auto-subs will not happen.

            Say I choose to make 1 sub in a gameweek, however, there are a couple more players in my first team who did not play and for some reason I cannot get to a computer to sub them out. Does this mean, because i have 'taken control' of my team, that auto-subs will not replace the 2 other players?

            Many thanks for the help

              Unfortunately there isn't a mobile website for UCL fantasy, and I haven't found one for Euro 2012 fantasy yet, and the click and drag system of substitutions meant that I couldn't make them on my smartphone or ipod.

              Therefore when unable to get to a computer, the only changes I could make were Captaincy changes.

              And yes, once you have made one change, Autosubs no longer happen for players who didn't play atall.

          I don't think Simpson is the right player to rotate though - you need to either be young and looking to come through (Like Bertrand), old (Like Ferriera) or versatile (Like O'shea or Phil Nevile). He's none of these.

    Just finished English GCSE, now back to the important stuff, who to captain this week:
    Aguero, Torres, RVP, Bale and Moses are all viable options bearing in mind that I'm trailing

      Bosy for me. I've got GIbbs of those three, but tempted to bench him - have a sneaking suspicion that WBrom could give them a run for their money (he said while desperately crossing fingers for WHL result).

          I think Rafa probably will start since MU need to attack and win, but I fancy Chelski for a CS more than I fancy MU for CS. That to me is the vital ingredient for Def selections, any att points is usually a bonus.

    Need some advice on a midfielder at maximum £ 5.2. (Already have Mavies & Maloney)
    Should I take a punt on:

    a) Beausejour
    b) Hoolahan
    c) Pilkington
    d) Scholes
    e) Ox

    Anyone else think the prices of players in the Euro 2012 Fantasy Football are a bit screwy?

    Ignashevich 6.5, the same price as Cole and Terry and more expensive than Pepe, Cahill, Evra...?

    That's just one example but it seems like everyone is rather expensive, even for countries that aren't likely to do very well??

      russia was the second best defensive team in the qualifiers, so I see why their defense is high priced.

      I think they have done it using goals conceeded stats in qualifying not just how well known a player is - I think that's why the Swedish defence is very cheap.

      Also for players that aren't nailed on you get discounts, those that are for reasonable defensive sides are expensive, the likes of Ramos and Lahm = Baines and Vidic last season in FPL at £8.0m.

      Also Ignashevich has a foot injury and may not be fit in time for the Euros so there are cheaper alternatives.

        Do you think they will actually change prices now they've released some?

        I mean I guess they will have to add and remove players, but changing prices of those we've scouted already makes it seem pointless to have released it this early anyway..

        Also you're french right?
        Who do you think will play RB for France with Sagna out? Debuchy or Reveillere?

          Debuchy is first pick RB right now and probably gonna is during the tournament.
          If you want defensive coverage he surely is the better pick to me. He make a lot of crosses in his club and in the french team got 2 assist during the Allemagne/France match.

    Opponent has Kompany, VDV & Aguero

    I have 13pt lead and want to minimise his return on these 3 and don't want to take a hit. Should I:

    A) Demps -> Silva

    B) JEvans -> Clichy

    C) Demps -> VDV

    Currently have to play two of Siggy, Cabaye, Demps

        B) denies him 4 pts from a CS, and C) potentially more if VDV performs well (perfect hedge regardless)

        Hoever A) has a bit of both as I get a bit for a CS and hopefully some more if city score some goals...

          He is, but I'd still take him as a striker though, he scores goals. RVP could also be reverse OOP and play RW behind the striker in 4-2-3-1
