Az dedicates his latest Pro Pundits column to the in-form Villans as he looks at the best defensive and attacking options from Dean Smith’s side.

Taking a break from looking at my own Fantasy Premier League team’s progress, I put the question out to you guys with the aim of finding out who people would be interested in reading about.

Not surprisingly, the favoured team to scrutinise was the only one in the top leagues of Europe to have won every match this year, the mighty Aston Villa.

      If you want Kane, looks like either Jimenez or DCL (so, Jimenez) has to go. In order to free up funds, you need to down-grade one of the following: TAA, Salah, Sterling, Son. IMO, go TAA to a 4.5 DEF (Dallas, Ayling, White).
      Jimenez + TAA => Kane + Dallas (-4).

      With Salah a great captaincy option this week and Son for cover, I think you'd be fine rolling your transfer. Full disclosure though: I took a hit to bring in Kane yesterday, however, I did have the suspended Richarlison.

      Very good but I think a wildcard team without Salah is asking for trouble. I would fund him by getting rid of Jack Harrison.

        Yeah, I keep wanting to chicken out on that.. trying to convince myself he's not worth 0.4 more than Mane.

        They were very similar last season – I'm thinking as long as you don't chop and change between the two, it should balance out? Am I kidding myself?

          I have 0.2 in the bank with the above, so would need to find 0.2 from somewhere else... don't really fancy any midfielders under 5.5.

          I could do Saiss->Cody, Reguillon->Sanchez, and cover the same defences, I suppose.

          I think Salah matched him last season while out of form, because of pens etc. Whereas this year he looks sharper. So I think he'll score huge. Mane looks good as well, and his stats are great, but I think there's a clear winner between the two. For a captain option the money is worth it.

          For 9.2 elsewhere, yes I'd probably ship a defender. Coady doesn't go up for corners so not him, but maybe a 5.0 for Reg.

            No he didn't. Salah only came back due to Mane's injuries which caused Mo to thrive without him. When they're together both do great and Mane is also an excellent captain option.

          Stick with Kane. Spurs are definitely firing at the moment. City MAY start firing now. If they do in the future and Spurs stop, it is an easy switch.

      Spurs are very shaky at the back. I'd downgrade to Targett.

      I'm still not convinced by Werner either, but understand the logic.

        See above... maybe. Mane actually has superior XG... and quite a bit better non-penalty XG... but obviously penalties are a thing.

      I think so... and we have a few other niggles in the backline too, so even if Bielsa switches it around and shifts Klich back there I could see a few starts for Pascal at CB as well. I'd say he gets min 4 starts in the next 6.

    I want J. Rod in my team, but not quite sure how. Should I save and reassess? Another option is Pulisic to Havertz who looks to get in more advanced positions at the moment, yet still somewhat sideway.

      Pulisic to Rodriguez is the easy move there. I think at the moment Havertz is the player to have out of the two but I would do the transfer

    Dont udnerstand something about prices?

    For example i have Salah i can sell him for 12.1 only and his price is 12.3? I have Son who is 9.3 but i can only transfer him out for 9.1? While Kane is possible to transfer out for 10.7 and his price is 10.8? I understand for all player who i can sell for 0.1 less then their transfer value in, but what is with Son and Salah why i can only sell them for 0.2 less?

      To get 0.1 the price must difference between PP and SP must be divisible by 2. So if you bought Salah at 12 & he became 12.4 your SP would be 12.2. Hope that helps. BasicLly you must be able to halve the difference to a full number.

      You get half the increase in value when you sell. This is always rounded down when you have had an odd number of price rises. So a player rises by 0.3 that you have, your sell price will only be 0.1 higher due to this round down. Once they rise to 0.4 above the price you purchased then your sell price is now 0.2 higher.

          Kilman has been knocking on the door of the wolves team for a while. He made some appearances at end of last season also. NES obviously has confidence in him. I own him from week 1. One of the very few 4.0m players that is actually playing.

        I agree. Strujik’s fixtures over the next 6 GWs (as Phillips is back then) are avl, LEI, cry, ARS, eve, CHE.

        I don’t see many clean sheets there, if any. Palace is probably the best chance. Those are better attacking fixtures than defensive fixtures.

      I tried several wild card teams with 4 x 9m or higher (premium) players. When i did. The rest of the team looked chit.

      So i eventually settle for 3 x big hitters and the rest of the squad looks balanced.

      Any team I have seen that has 4 premiums, has Brewster up top or else a light weight defence with maybe only 1 good defender and 2 x non starters.
